Enjoy For Free Her Billionaire Rancher Boss (A Cowboy Of Her Own #1) Produced By Genevieve Turner Accessible Through Audio Book
sweet read.
I liked the character of Pilar, She was honest, hardworking, strong, and caring, She took over the care of her teenage brother after her parents died, . and that in itself was darn brave! Now she is struggling in that angry teenage years and feeling like she failed her parents, She keeps hoping everything will turn out okay and he will graduate so she can flee her growing attraction to her sexy boss, Benedict,
Strong and sexy Benedict does not want her to leave him, and asks her to have amonth secret affair, But he has a hard time not wanting to be near her now that it is open season on their mutual attraction, He hopesmonths will be enough to convince her, Wow, their first kiss is so hot and his growling so delish!
This was a first read by this author and it was nicely written and hot.

This book felt gentle, it wasn't a wild rollercoaster of a book and I enjoyed that feeling, However, I believe the book had the potential to be longer, it feel as though the book finished too early or was missing some substance in it.
Something I can't quite put my finger on,
Pilar, carer of her brother Javier after the passing of their parents, and Benedict the hot billionaire boss are the focus of this gentle journey to their admissions of love.
We watch as Benedict did his best to get Pilar to stay after she handed in hermonth resignation after suggesting amonth affair of course and, on the other hand, we watch Pilar come to the realisation that her boss, someone she didn't even realise had feelings for her, loves her and had for years.
A good book based upon a young mexican woman who lost her parents agedand took the responsibility of raising heryears old brother who will shortly be around college age.
Benedict has had a thing for Pilar from the moment that she came into his office and asked for a job but has suffered in silence like he always does, but with the possibility of her leaving him he finally makes his move.
Pilar is a very strong woman and they both help each other in ways they didn't know they needed it, they help balance each other out.
Its a sweet read that can pull on your heartstrings as you read and see the pain that they have both endured, but then they find the pleasure of each other and Pilar falls very quickly.
Its a fast read, but an enjoyable one all the same, FREE on Amazon today !
What is it about Genevieve Turners books that work so well for me Its like shes speaking directly to my id.
Benedict has been secretly pining for Pilar for years, biding his time until shes no longer his secretary or her brother Javier shes his guardian goes off to college.
That all changes when Pilar hands in her notice and the timeline moves up, Benedicts buttoned up, repressed attraction energy was so utterly delicious! Theyve been working together foryears but Pilar didnt really notice him that way until this past year and then it was hard for her to unnotice and remain professional.
I thought this did a great job handling the power dynamics, On a bigger scale, Ive been curious about how the Merrill family handles their power, from reading the Always a Cowboy series, We never get Benedicts POV so I still have some questions but I liked how this engaged with it, especially with how he always has to be on when he's around town and how aware Pilar was of her circumstances and dependence on the familys benevolence, from her past college scholarship to getting the admin job.
Benedict took amazing care of Pilar, Whether fixing her sink or buying her a pair of jeans on the off chance that shed want to go horseback riding,
he looked out for her.
I really loved all those details, Why yes, I would like to order up a Benedict for myself, Even though they decide to embark on an affair until she leaves town, it builds slowly and to great effect, Benedict can do a lot without even touching Pilar! He is an A dirty talker, The chemistry was incendiary.
Despite their differences, they both feel similarly about being responsible for the people they love, particularly their younger brothers who give them trouble, They both have a tendency toward enabling or carrying more of a burden than they should and it was interesting to see how these conversations evolved as their respective situations unfolded.
There are some key differences, however, and this where the story went a bit awry for me, Benedicts brother Josh is in prison for a DUI, Pilars parents was killed by a drunk driver and she has some anxiety around driving as a result, The family initially covered up Joshs behavior but he almost died and killed someone in the last incident, Benedict wished hed stopped enabling years earlier and he puts some of this onto Pilar, However, Javier is a senior in high school, Hes a typical teen and Pilar doesnt put her foot down as much as she should, The situations are completely different and of course it all came to a head
As a result, the ending felt rushed, Benedict needed to do a lot more groveling and show that hed learned from how he mishandled things, But up to that point, I absolutely loved the story, Even though the ending didnt quite stick the landing, I loved these characters, Im glad theyre figuring out a way for Pilar to go off and do what she needs to get her CPA certification and still make a relationship work.
Character notes: Pilar is ayear old fat Mexican American secretary, Benedict is a white CEO of a cattle ranchturnedhotel and resort and stock horse operation, This is set in Cabrillo, CA,
Content notes: past death of parents killed by drunk driver, FMC became guardian ofyear old brother now, brother unfairly arrested for shoplifting due to racial profiling, past car accident her car was totaled but she was fine, some anxiety around driving, internalized fatshaming, MMCs brother is in prison for DUI, onpage sex, MMCs father retired early due to heart problems but okay now, classism, family planning conversation, alcohol, gender essentialism, ableist language "In her heart of hearts, she wanted that love.
And that scared her because she could lose herself in loving Benedict, ”
If youve been following me for a while, youre probably thinking why the hell would I read this And the answer is simple.
To quote the main character in this book: “Why not” It was free I downloaded it from Amazon, Ive never read anything on this genre and I felt like going wild
The book in itself is a quick read with more romance than erotica which I am thankful for! and with some family drama bringing the main characters together.
My main issues with the story is that I felt Pilar kept saying A “insert feministslashselfsufficient woman thought and wishing for B insert housewife cliché and the book kept going on and on between those poles and I got a bit irritated.
I have no issue with a feminist character or a housewife either, but make up your damn mind, woman!
Another thing that bugged me a bit was the fact thatof the book was builing up to two main conflicts that get solved magically overnight and the ending is basically a “buy my next novel” to find out more, something I dont particularly appreciate in any book of any genre.
Other than that, I found it interesting enough to keep me reading all the way till the end and I enjoyed digging in Benedicts and Pilars past and their longdue love story because that was as far from an affair as I am from being a good singer! I'm not too sure what to say about this one.
It was short, sweet, and quick to the point, It took me less than a couple hours to get through, I think maybe it was the length of the book that leaves me feeling like not a whole lot happened, Based on the cover alone, I was expecting something a lot sexier than what I got, There wasn't anything wrong with the sex that was present, but I've read much better in other books, I also feel like there wasn't a lot of room to get to know the characters very well, I was able to get a good grasp on Pilar, but Benedict just didn't seem all that believable to me, For a quick sexy read, this does the job well enough, But for me, it could have used more depth and character development,.stars
Pilar works for Benedict Murrill who she feels has given so much charity to her family that she feels suffocated, She's ready to go out and do something for herself and earn her own way, So, she hands him a letter of resignation and gives him plenty of time to hire a new assistant and train them, Three months is surely enough time, Only when she gives him the resignation letter, he's pissed and hurt,
In her mind, he's always been nothing but professional and aloof when it comes to her, All of a sudden he's taking an interest in her and proposes they move to something more outside of the office, Off guard, she thinks it's ridiculous at first, He's doing it to keep her around,
Things get heated and he continues to fix things and pay for things while showing her a side of him she's never seen, Cute and sexy and a little sweet, .
