Really enjoyed reading this story, It's a second chance story, Love those!

Liam is in town to pursue his ongoing case fromyears ago, . . investigating a jewels theft, the trail has gone cold, He thought by staying in town, the clues might resurface, He got more than he bargained for!

Both with sizzling chemistry that they cannot deny, . . thank god for Liam he's one thoughtful, caring and passionate man that will slowly knock Emma's wall for however long it's takes! Swoon!! The way he included her three daughters is beautiful.

Note ARC kindly provided by the Author I adored this story! In the beginning my heart ached for Emma.
I can't imagine what it would be like to experience such betrayal and grief at the same time, especially with three children to care for as you try to pick up the pieces of your life.
Throughout the story I was rooting for Emma to get her happy ending after everything she'd been through, I loved how this book jumped perspectives in the chapters but it wasn't jolting to the story, It was well written and a smooth transition each time, Just when things seem to be going well for Emma, something else hits and the way the suspenseful moments were written gave me goosebumps, This story was a wonderful combination of romance, suspense, and character growth, I've already downloaded bookand am looking forward to reading more of the story, Aw!

Investigating the Heart is a sweet romance ensconced in a thriller,

After some painful realizations about her husband, the main character has sworn off relationships, She is focused on her sweet daughters and her coffee shop, She was satisfied with her life, Shes an easy character to love and sympathize with,

The love interest is easy to love as well, He is the definition of a good man, Hes an FBI agent that works hard to gain the main characters love,

The villain is an stalker with an unknown identity, You get glimpses of him throughout the book, as well as the phone calls he harasses the main character with, When he showed up, he was terrifying,

Ms. Masons writing is smooth and easy to get absorbed into, The characters are engaging. The side characters are fleshed out, The love story is clean and the thrill is intense, Ill definitely be reading more by Ms, Mason!

If you like romances, this book is a quick read, A handsome FBI agent moves to smalltown Beckland to investigate a jewel theft and falls in love with a young widow whose late husband was, unbeknownst to her, involved in the crime.

First, let me start by saying YAS! to this cover, How gorgeous is this! And it ties in with the story, as Emma owns a coffeshop, so it wasnt just a random pretty latte on there : The book opened up with a fastpace.
We got a bit of the back story on Emmas deceased husband, and then we fastforward six years and start to understand her life, Sometimes I thought it was little too quick or certain subjects got skipped right over and maybe they werent totally necessary to the story, But then we have Liam enter, and a bit of mystery begins, which I typically enjoy, The book actually had some pretty suspenseful moments which I wasnt totally expecting, and a sweet love story as well which I did anticipate, I found myself having a bit of disconnect here and there again I think the pace was moving along too quick, sometimes the dialogue wasnt totally realistic to me but I enjoyed the ending and overall liked it.

Investigating the heart is a cute romantic story with a lot of twists and mysteries.
It was an entertaining thriller, with easy flow, I really liked all the characters, especially the three beautiful little girls !!!!
The story revolves around the beautiful Emma McCoy,

whose life comes to a screeching halt when she loses her husband Jacob in a plane crash.
Emma ismonths pregnant, expecting their third daughter when she gets the news, Another bomb gets dropped on her that her husband was having an affair with their neighbor Veronica, who also died with Jacob in the plane crash, Emma was already devastated by this incident, and adding more insult to injury was knowing that Jacob had blown off all of their life savings, Her family helps her in picking up the scattered pieces of her life back together, She opens a shabby chic cafe called Morning Glory and raises her three beautiful daughters Lily, Dahlia and Rose, Her life was going at a smooth pace until the day, she sees a blue eyed stranger, sitting in her coffee shop,

The story also involves a little suspense to keep you guessing, The circumstances are real single mom raisingdaughters, trust issues as are the characters, I was rooting for Liam and Emma throughout the whole story, We should all be so lucky to find that immediate chemistry with someone! A fast paced read that took a few twists and turns, The character development was on point, At times I could feel the emotions of the characters as if I were experiencing them myself, I was pleasantly surprised and can't wait to see how Ms, Mason develops as a writer in the future, Investigating the Heart by Heidi Renee Mason is a great read, Heidi is a new author to me and I enjoyed her work, This book captivated my interest from the start and did not let go, It is filled with strong emotions as well as unforgettable characters,

I thoroughly enjoyed Investigating the Heart! It was a quick read and the story was fairly simple, but I found myself thinking about it after setting it down which is always a good sign.
There were a few parts that could have used a bit more 'showing' than 'telling,' but that's my only small suggestion, I would definitely read another book by this author, A true pageturner, that has it all romance, suspense and great characters, Emma is my favourite kind of lead: a strong woman coping with what life throws at her, And Liam ahh Liam a swoonworthy leading man if ever there was one, Definitely one for when you need a hit of the good stuff a quick romantic read for a night in, Wow!!!
