Gain Kissed By A Cowboy (Four Of Hearts Ranch, #3) Fabricated By Debra Clopton Presented In Text
review is also posted on sitelinkBook by Book,
With just its title, Debra Cloptons Kissed by a Cowboy seems to promise all the romance I enjoyed in the previous Four of Hearts Ranch novels.
So, I started reading it with high expectations, and luckily, I did not stop disappointed, as the eldest Monahan brother gets his chance for love finally.
Entirely serious, focused, and committed to running his familys ranch successfully, Jarrod does not have time to consider his love life until a woman from his past, Cassidy Starr, moves into the nextdoor house, and their attraction is immediate, mutual, and undeniable.
Unfortunately, stubborn Cassidy has decide to remain single and independent in the wake of her humiliating divorce, Just as stubbornly, though, Jarrod quickly determines he needs to change her mind,
As comedic scenarios, emotional hurts, and the meddlesome matchmakers of Wishing Springs bring Jarrod and Cassidy together again and again, Kissed by a Cowboy tells an entertaining and heartwarming romance.
I really enjoyed it, and I believe fans of contemporary romance, especially those who have read the other Four of Hearts Ranch novels, will, too.
I recommend it.
Thanks to LitFuse Publicity Group, I received a copy of Kissed by a Cowboy and the opportunity to provide an honest review.
I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own, The setting of this story is charming and so is every last one of the characters, The premise is simple, but sweet, Romance blossoms softly and old friendships are revived, This contemporary tale is a lighthearted read with a hint of the old wild west,
I enjoyed getting to know Cassidy and Jarrod, but Im afraid I didnt connect to them as I would have hoped, Their relationship had some amusing moments, but I struggled believing the two of them and their upanddown feelings for each other, I appreciated their goals and ambitions, especially Cassidys dream for a strawberry farm and BampB, but things just became a little too repetitious for me.
Yes, there are some predictable moments, Even so, I know many readers will still enjoy this easytoread tale of two old friends finally embracing true love,
This review is my honest opinion, Thanks to Thomas Nelson amp Zondervans Fiction Guild for my copy, Kissed by a Cowboy was a fun, fluffy read for me, I didn't fall in love with the characters or the story line, but I still enjoyed the read, I really liked the details about the land and owning a ranch, I also thought it was such a cool thing that Cassidy was trying to do own a bed and breakfast, sell strawberries and peaches, etc.
It just seems like such a warm way to live, I wish I could have seen her hopes and dreams come to fruition a bit.
The plot did feel a bit repetitive to me, Jarrod was a bit too forceful and Cassidy too timid, both of their actions saying the opposite of their words, A bit of that is okay, if done realistically, but for me, it just felt like the same thing happened over and over, I also don't care for scenes when a character knowingly puts themselves in danger it just doesn't feel realistic,
Even so, please know that my typical reads are not contemporary, and if they are, they don't usually feature cowboys, so this isn't my usual reading fare.
Readers that like these types of stories will most likely enjoy this one, I liked the setting and secondary characters enough that I wouldn't mind reading the other books in the series at some point as well.
Kissed by a Cowboy tells the story of the final Monahan brother, Jarrod, It was great to visit Wishing Springs again and see characters from the two prior books, especially Pebble and Rand,
Jarrod and Cassidy's story didn't pull me in like the prior two novels did, I found some of the actions to be abrupt and others unrealistic,
I look forward to future novels by this author and recommend this series for readers that enjoy contemporary westerns,
My Thoughts
You know those days when you just NEED a book that will make you giggle until your sides hurt You just want to smile and laugh and cry and just feel until your family asks what's wrong with you
I have them a lot.
And now that I've read Kissed by a Cowboy, this is absolutely one of those goto books!
I won't give any spoilers but I WILL say that less than a chapter into the book, I knew I would LOVE it.
It was engaging, romantic, sweet, deep, perfectly paced, and just FUNNY!
I read stories like this often, Those stories where either the hero and heroine hate each other or they have a rocky past and they have to get past the hurts and pain to see a bright future.
. . I have a strange addiction to them, That's one reason I loved this book so much, Well, that and the fact that even though I have never stayed at one, I'm in love with the charm of bed and breakfasts!
Long story short, I adored Jarrod amp Cassidy, it was definitely one of the funniest books I've ever read, and it's swoon worthy.
Go read it!
My overall thoughts
Such a fun cowboy romance, don't think for a second that there isn't also a beautiful message to be heard.
I really do wish there was so much more to come in this series but I can't wait to see what Debra does next!
My Rating
I give Kissed by a Cowboy by Debra Clopton.
. .
stars!!
I received this book from Litfuse, the publisher, and the author in exchange for an honest review, which I have given.
All thoughts were my own and I was not compensated in any other way,
KISSED BY A COWBOY started off so fun with an awkward moment between two friends who haven't seen either other in a long time.
It set the tone for this book full of smalltown charm, a cowboy who wants to love a gal, and a gal who is trying to stand on her own.
I enjoyed the humor, the swoonworthy moments, the family relationships with all the heart and teasing, and the smalltown feel, The heroine didn't work for me, but I loved the hero and the other characters,
I loved Jarrod through the whole story, I loved his charm, work ethics, willingness to help, and his strength, I also loved his family, They added quite a bit to this story and it was great to "see" them again after getting to know them in the first two books.
I also enjoyed the other characters from the town, I'm still pulling for Rand, . .
I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, but for some reason, this one didn't quite work for me as well.
I think I just didn't connect with Cassidy and felt she was a little unreasonably set against Jarrod and was a little out of control.
It worked at first, but after a couple of hundred pages of her still in the same place, still dramatic, still not growing or changing how I think she should be, it got old.
It made the story rather frustrating,
Overall a decent inspirational romance, I liked getting to see Jarrod get a happilyeverafter, but definitely not my favorite in the series,

Imagine my happy surprise when I discovered one of Debra Clopton's cowboy romances on the shelf at our local library! I was actually volunteering at the time, so I snagged it during my work and carried it with me, just in case someone might have walked off with it.
This one wasn't as humorous as some of her other stories, but there were moments that had me chuckling, It's very similar to her Mule Hollow books, but not so similar I couldn't enjoy the main story line,
I felt for these characters who had been hurting for so long and who were dealing with some heavy regrets, I could understand their doubts and fears, and their desire to support the people they cared for in whatever way was best, So the characters were relatable, at least to me,
If you enjoy clean, contemporary romance, stories about Texas or cowboys, and happy endings, you should definitely give this book a try, Cassidy Starr has returned to Wishing Spring after hard divorce, She wants to put her
aunt's farm back in operation and raise organic strawberries as well as open a bed and breakfast, She's done with love. Jarrod Monahan's got his own troubles, He's running the family cattle ranch and trying to track down some rustlers, He's never forgotten the girl next door though, When he learns that the one woman who stole his heart years ago has moved in next door, he can't help but see this as a second chance.
Despite the fact that she wants nothing to do with him or love, But as their lives collide, will Cassidy recognize the fact that not all men are like her exhusband, and will she give the cowboy she still loves a second chance
Whenever I read one of Debra Clopton's books, I know a couple of things.
First, there will be cowboys, Second, it's usually hilarious. This book is true on both accounts, It's the third in the series, but does stand alone,
I loved Jarrod's pursuit of Cassidy, I loved that he realized when he was rushing her and took a step back, But I also loved how he was the wonderful good neighbor and was there to help her out when she needed it, I thought that Cassidy was a little too determined to hang onto her plans,
The secondary characters, as usual, are delightful, I love the town of Wishing Springs and the people who live there, In this one, I really liked Doc's pig Clover,
It's a quick read, I also found it to be very lighthearted,
I received the Kindle copy for free from Booklook Bloggers for the purpose of reviewing, My thoughts and opinions are my own,

RatingKissed By a Cowboy is the third book featuring the Monahan brothers.
I have really enjoyed this series and in a way, I'm sad that the last brother has gotten his HEA, Jarrod is the eldest of the three brothers, He is also the serious one, When he realizes he has a second chance at love with Cassidy, he decides to go for it, Unfortunately, Cassidy has other plans, Coming of a horrible divorce, she doesn't want to ever get married again,
While not my favorite of the three books, I did enjoy Jarrod and Cassidy together, I loved how Jarrod never gave up in trying to win back Cassidy's heart, I was really rooting for them the whole way, For me, it just took Cassidy a little too long to get with the program, In addition to their story, we are treated to the conclusion to a story arc over the series between Pebble and Rand, Their love story was so super sweet and I was so happy with that couple's ending, Along with appearances from previous characters, there is a bit of adventure added into the story,
I'm not sure what is next for this author, but I hope she will visit with Wishing Springs Texas again in the future! About the Book
Cassidy was looking for a home and a place to belong.
. . not for a cowboy to steal her heart,
Having lived through her parents endless string of “matrimonial bliss gone wrong,” Cassidy Starr knows when the odds are not in her favor.
Divorced and humiliated, her faith on rocky ground, Cassidy is through with love, Shes been bucked off that horse far too many times, Instead, she returns to Wishing Springs, Texas, and the rundown farm shes inherited from her great aunt Roxie, Shell reopen the strawberry farm and a bed amp breakfast and follow in her aunts footsteps, remaining foreverindependent, happy, . . and single.
Rancher Jarrod Monahans hands are full running the ranch, looking after his ailing grandfather, and chasing down a group of rustlers on the loose.
Hes pushed his longing for a family to the bottom of his list of priorities, Besides, he was in love once but ran scared and lost his shot at happiness, But suddenly, the biggest regret of his life has moved in next door with a wounded heart, determined to become a spinster, . . and thats a challenge that Jarrod cant pass up,
Jarrod sets his mind to breaking down the walls around Cassidys stubborn heart, How can he show her that a cowboys kiss lasts forever For the good folks of Wishing Springs, falling in love has never been so much fun to witness.
My
Oh my! Why have I never read a Debra Clopton novel before Debra is now on my list of must read authors.
I need to buy the previous two books in this series because this book was amazing and was exactly what I had hoped it would be and more.
I usually don't read much contemporary, but since it was mixed with romance and western I knew I would love it is despite the contemporary setting.
Kissed by a Cowboy was a swoon worthy read and I really loved it,
Note:::I recieved this book for free for an honest review, I received an advance review copy in exchange for a fair and honest review,
Romance, clean.
This was more of a,for me but I rounded up because I loved all the side characters and the setting, Cassidy's adventure as she moves to the home and land she inherited from her Aunt Roxie is an escape from her hurtful present as she is moving on from a divorce.
Her cheating, lying ex hurt her to the point she just wants to be by herself and depend on no one,
Her neighbor Jarrod is something she wasn't counting on as she tumbles head on into her new life, From their awkward initial encounter when she is locked out and stuck in the doggie door to the house, he seems to always be there when she needs some help.
They have a past, and both haven't come to terms with what happened then, Jarrod tries to ease his way into her life, being a friend, and neighbor bringing her along as he tries to catch some cattle rustlers, and just trying not to 'fall' while being her friend.
They both have to come to terms with the past, finally forgive one another, and jump into the future
This was a fun read, some cute situations, definite attraction between the two main characters, and some great side characters and side stories.
Loved the push and pull between the neighbor, friend, and love interest, There was definite attraction and chemistry between them,
My only disappointment is not seeing how Cassidy's plans were 'finished', She had come so far on the house and the farm, Had some successes, but wondered if she ever finished the bed and breakfast If that had been resolved not just Jarrod's 'problem's' resolution, I think I would have felt more settled at the end of the book.
A few other loose ends, but I am guessing they will resolve in another novel, .
