book was used in a classroom I was recently in to show us how we can tell kids about apples.
The book is a great way to tell kids the life cycle of an apple, It is good for them see how an apple is grown, In a classroom, you can use this book to further children's knowledge about apples, It is also a good way to introduce a new lesson, As with many books for young children, this one has lots of pictures, In it you will see a group of children at an apple orchard, It all looks yummy, including the weather, A great book that needs a more interesting cover, I am guilty of thinking this was going to be a terribly boring informational book looking at the cover, but there was actually plenty of interesting text and neat pictures to go along.
A book that could definitely be used when talking about Fall or fruits and vegetables in school, although I'm not sure how often they are talked about.
Using photographs instead of drawings was a nice touch to make it real for children, This is a really pretty book! The photographs are stunning and the text is simple enough for elementaryaged readers, Showcasing a nicely multiethnic group of kids all enjoying a day at the orchard together, this is a wonderful book to read aloud to a group or for a child to read alone.
It's part narrative and part educational, butfun, How apples are grown, picked, and made apple juice and cider after they were picked, Very educational with excellent pictures! If you are taking your students on a field trip to the apple orchard, this is a perfect book to read before!! Your students can look at the pictures which are actual photographs and it holds as a schema for them to relate too when they actually go to the orchard! I loved to see the pictures of real kids at the apple orchard.
I also liked to see how the apples grew, My kids want to visit an apple orchard now, even though we have our own apple trees, This book is awesome! It has the scientific aspects of the tree and the fruit, but then shows photos of people actually picking the apples.
. . helping Robby remember when we went and did the same thing, This would be best suited for first and second grade, This has some science terminology on how apples grow, It's about a field trip to an apple orchard and all that the kids learn and do, It's fall, and the days are getting cooler, As the leaves begin to change color, the apple trees are heavy with fruit and ready for the harvest, It's time to go apple picking! Join us on a visit to the apple orchard to learn all about apples: how they grow, the best way to pick
them, and how to make delicious apple cider.
