Pick Up The Great Movies--Live!: A Pop-Up Book Depicted By Maxim Jakubowski Shared As Digital Copy

first adult popup book, I've had this since it came out in, and other than the tune in the Casablanca scene which finally stopped playing last year, all the other popup scenes work exactly as they should.
You can't believe your eyes as scenes from five classic films popup in front of you, They are 'King Kong', 'High Noon', 'Gone With The Wind', 'The seven Year Itch' and 'Casablanca',

A scene from each film comes to life in front of you as you turn the pages and there is even action as you do so with such as Gary Cooper raising his gun to shoot in 'High Noon' and Tom Ewell raising his head to have a good look at Marilyn Monroe as her skirt blows high in 'The Seven Year Itch'!

And along with each film, there is a flap that hides relevant facts or quotes about or from the film.
For instance beneath a great popup of King Kong looming over the Empire State Building, the flip of a flap reveals that the film's title was producer David O Selznick's fourth attempt at naming the film as 'King Kong' followed 'The Beast', 'The Eighth Wonder' and 'Kong'.
The film went on to grossmillion on its first release,

I loved 'High Noon' went I first saw it and it does not surprise me that it won the best score and song Oscar with 'Do not forsake me oh my darling' it

was nominated for best picture but did not win.
And Clark and Vivien pop up massively in 'Gone With The Wind', a film that I also saw when younger and read my Mum's copy of the magnificent book.
I always disputed with my pals that it was a ladies' book!

Four thousand people turned out to see the subway breeze blow up Marilyn's skirt on a Lexington Avenue that was normally deserted at two o'clock in the morning.
. . but Joe Di Maggio was not impressed! And Bogart and Bergman were not the first choices for the starring roles in 'Casablanca' Ronald Colman and George Raft were considered for the part of Rick and Ann Sheridan, Hedy Lamarr and French actress Michele Morgan were tested or approached for the part of Ilsa.

So the combination of words and exciting popups make this book a delight to look at and read.
I had this book as a kid, I don't know why. I didn't know any of the movies at the time, but I remember looking at it, It had King Kong on top of the Empire State Building, Marylin Monroe's famous white dress from Seven Year Itch, and it played "As Time Goes By" from Casablanca as the last page.
The other two movies High Noon and Gone with the Wind, I don't really remember clearly, Open up and see favourite actors and classic movie scenes come alive as popup scenes: King Kong, High Noon, Gone With The Wind, The Seven Year Itch, Casablanca.
