This book is a guilty pleasure, It's cheesy the way romance novels go, but still is enjoyable,
I also enjoy it for the strong female character, she's independent and selfreliant, When trouble comes it doesn't even occur to her to run to the male love interest,
Rating: PG
Reasoning: This is a young romance novel, so the romance only goes as far as kissing and even that is very small.
After her father loses the family store to unscrupulous business partners, Sofia is forced to leave her beloved school and seek employment as a governess.
She accepts a position in Mexico, which will take her far away from her family, friends and the young man who has recently won her heart.
This is another sweeping drama of early California statehood is the eighth entry under the AMerican Dreams banner.
