first ever travelogue that I read in my early teens and have reread since then a few times, This along with other of Mustansar's travelogues kindled in me a love for travel and adventure, I have had good opportunity since then to follow in the footsteps of my inspiration, A lovable, likeable writer, his writings are studded with humour, adventure and a love for the road,
In this travelogue contemporary Spain or AlAndalus of thes comes to life with reference to its historical importance, It is clear that Mustansar has a special affection for the country and for the lost heritage of the eclectic civilisation that came into being, uniquely, only in medieval Spain.
The ending chapter is a classic
This book is a travelogue of Undulas Spain and a few parts of Europe, After reading Pyaar Ka Pehla Shehr, one should go hunting this one, Tarar Shahab travels through each and every city of Spain in this one giving an insight to the muslim history in the whole Europe, This book makes the reader walk through the streets of Madrid, galleries of Qurtaba Mosque, It takes the reader on a jeep ride through the endless mountains of spain with no population, And then the book, at the end, ends with a chapter called "Undulas Mein Ajnabi",
This book over all is a great one, I had been eyeing it for quite sometime and wanted to read it, Now, I am really relieved, It made my thirst for traveling Europe more intense, Tarar Sahab did a great job in picturing everything through words, At first, I was annoyed by the details of Muslim History but gradually I became used to it and learned a lot abouy our history that I never knew.
According to this book, Spain is not a Utopia like people describe it, It is not that beautiful, It is just perfect and there is a difference between beauty and perfection, I used to think about Spain with a whole different perspective but aftef reading this book, I think about it at a whole different level of imagination, Spain is not as beautiful as deep it is,
The writing style of Tarar Sahab is completely different in this one, It is way slower than his other books and it was one of the things I loved in this book, I always prefer slow books over fast paced books, We meet a lot of people in this book and it feels so good to know that all those people exist or existed in real world, They probably don't even know that they exist in a book, The book is a thrilling ride and would take a lot of ups and down throughout the story, I highly, highly recommend this book to you guys if you are into Tarar's books, I hope you enjoy reading it, In this travelogue, Mr Mustansar has written about his travel to Spain Andalus, The book focuses on present day's comparison with the days of Moorish Spain before its conquest in, It also gives a brief history of some events which were in parallel to where he visited which includes Pampalona, Sevilla, Cordoba and Granada, It is written so intensely that sometimes reader thinks of himself being present there with Mr Mustansar,
Apart of all the praises, he sometimes exaggerated few events and called himself the first Moor to ever visit Cordoba afterwhich he isn't Allama Iqbal prayed in Cathedral of Cordoba which was a Mosque.
Except this, it is literally one of the best travelogues of all time, This is a good book and worth the time and money spent, bought this book inin islamabad literary festival and on this book i take autographs from Amajad Islam Amjad,Intizar Hussain, and actress Laila Zubairi, A wonderful book. A good travelogue, with insight on historical significance of cities like Cordoba and Madrid in context of Islamic occupation of Spain, Doesn't fail to give deep notions of Spanish culture and its festivals, One star dropped because of notsofunny jokes of Mustansir, which mimics like it's been written by Ibneinsha but NO, Mustansar Hussain is one of my favorite writers who has taken the writing of SafarNaama to a new height, This book is very much interesting in which he compares Muslim and now liberal Spain, Some of it's scenes are quite touching, This was the very first interaction with the travelogues of one of the distinguished writer Mustansar Hussain Tarar and I would say without any doubts it was Exceptional !! Highly recommended to everyone who can read and adore Urdu : Great travelouge GREAT BOOK.
. . Well. Even though author always tailored stories of his Voyage in this book around women, still there was a lot about Spain to learn from this book, Happy reading. . :D first experience ov reading a travelogue a good book : enjoyed!
