some reason, I really couldnt like this one, It was especially disappointing after 'I Do, But there's a Catch' which was quite good,
This one just felt too long, and couldnt retain my interest after a point Amanda and Nick
This was the most interesting of the four books and also the most calculated of all the wedding ring promises! Friends setting friends up for marriage.
I loved it. When four high school friends promise to find husbands for one another if any of them are still single at age thirty, they have no idea how complicated the pact will make their lives twelve years later! Bookof the Wedding Ring series is Fiancé for Hire.
The Prospective Bride: Amanda Coppersmith, successful at everything except marriage, Been there, done thattwice! No way is she going to let her matchmaking pals fix her up with another husband.
Shes determined to remain single, which means outwitting her wellmeaning friends,
The Prospective Groom: Nick Stephanos, studly New York taxi driver and the perfect choice for fake fiancé.
The Hitch: Nick is willing to play along, and the meddling matchmakers are completely taken in, So how did a simple fake engagement become so darn complicated Bookof the Wedding Ring series by Pamela Burford.
Four young girls make a pact to find each other husbands if they are not married by, This one might have been my favourite, Unpreditable story line keeps you guessing on who is Mr, Perfect for our heroine. sitelinkFiancé for Hire The Wedding Ring: Four high school friends and a pact every girl marries her ideal man byor be prepared for matchmaking.
The BridetoBe: Amanda Coppersmith, successful at everything but marriage, There's absolutely no way she's going to let the Wedding Ring fix her up been there, done that! She's determined to outwit her matchmaking pals.
The Prospective Groom: Nick Stephanos, sexy New York taxi driver and
the perfect choice for phony fiance, Except there's a lot more to Nick than meets the eye Amanda's in particular,
The Hitch: Nick has met Amandayears ago, But he looks different now,
Will Amanda fall for Nick, . . she will but she'll never admit it,stars. In Fiancé For Hire, it was fun to watch the mighty “Ice Queen” fall! At least thats what her childhood friends call Amanda Coppersmith, the last of the friends to be set up with a blind date in the Wedding Ring series, is called.
The prospective “date” Nick Stephanos, Its a fun ride, and I use the term loosely as youll read and I wont give away any hints.
I loved Nick and how he treated relationshipshy Amanda, I will say that even though this is a standalone, I was sorry to leave these four girlfriends at the end of the story.
I cant say enough good things about this book and the series except to say you should read them all.
Full review here: sitelink blogspot. co. nz/ Light, funny and a super quick read, Fiancé, For Hire is the fourth in Pamela Burford's Wedding Ring quartet.
I loved both Nick and Amanda, he with his tooeducated taxi driving ways, quick wit and casual elegance and she with her schedules and ice queen demeanour.
I loved the plot which left me wondering just who was outwitting who, This story was beautifully paced throughout and I just couldn't put it down, While the best of the four books in this series, the “twist” at the end ruins it for me.
Mostly because it is completely unnecessary and so far beyond believable that I just couldnt get past it,
Amanda hiring Nick to be her boyfriend was enough of a hurdle for this couple to get past.
In many ways it was a role reversal of book, with our heroine the one creating the “arrangement” and struggling to acknowledge her own desire for a more authentic relationship.
Nick is a great hero that calls Amanda out on her bull shit and eventually gets her to open up about things she cant even share with the supposed best friends this series revolves around.
Amanda deciding to open herself up to love again should have been adequate, but no, the author had to make sure the Wedding Ring Pact ruled the romance.
That the BFFs knows our heroine better than she knows herself,
And so, our great guy, Nick, turns out to have been pining away for our heroine for overyrs creepy and manages to pull off the most convoluted plot ever with her “best friends” so she thinks she hired a stranger.
Which he is as far as shes concerned, Even less believable was the complete lack of slipups by the rest of the gang that would have at least hinted to the reader, if not Amanda, what was going on.
The vague references by Nick to “his plan” combined with one creepy encounter at a costume party made it seem more like he was going to reveal he was spying for one of her exes.
Even though the friends swallowing of Amandas lies made it clear they suspected she was trying to pull the wool over their eyes, I just couldnt get over the complexity of the set up and Nicks long time crush from afar.
Besides, hes too good of a catch to wait so long for someone he had a five minute conversation with five years ago.
Amandas rapid acceptance of the entire thing was equally unfathomable,
