Gain Access Scruples Two: Fifteen Years Later Envisioned By Judith Krantz Accessible In Digital Version
this years and years ago but just no marking it "read" on Goodreads, feels like there's a real market gap why do i have to go back to the classics to get this kind of book someone should be updating these.
In het Nederlands War über viele Jahre mein Lieblingsbuch, Ich habe es unzählige Male gelesen, I have wanted to read this book for ages, ever since I found out there was a sequel to Scruples, I did not think I was EVER going to get through this, Additionally, I messed up by looking at her other books online amp saw Billy amp Spider were married so it made it drag that much worse, waiting on that to happen.
It's just a long book amp I don't have as much time on my hands these days, A luxury life I'll never lead, PRETTY GOOD BUT PREDICTABLE Some bizzare graphic sex scenes that added no real content to the story line, The character, Susan had no real major purpose in the story beyond that, Otherwise a decent read. The first Scruples was an acceptable mix of smush and all out fantasy in the fashion world and the world of the very rich, This, however, was a cheap knock off, Beloved characters were killed off, marriages were split, and unrealistic characters were paired together, The whole charm of the first book was completely lost, This sequel is dull and blech in comparison to the original,
Kind of a rehash of the first book, but with differnt characters, same crap, different people.
save yourself the troubel and stick the the original Scruples, Well . it has been someyears since I read Scruples, my outlook on life has changed quite a bit, she said with a big grin on her face.
I did enjoy the characters and the fantasy plot as an escape of the reality of what is presently going on in our world, The "steamy" sex scenes were almost laughable and actually quite unnecessary, Ms. Krantz is no doubt aging at the same rate I am and the last printed page of the book says "To be continued", I wonder if there is a sequel if similar sex escapades will take place or if she can convey that it takes place without being so graphic.
I really would like to know what she did with that house, So I didnt read the first book, but I definitely loved this, this book made me fall in love with Judith Krantz, I remember this book more than the first, Does that say something about me That Ive read both Gift from a friend, I have obviously read Scruples I, as the characters were familiar, however, no clue when! I don't often give a book five, this is one.
Judith Krantz, a brilliant writer, takes the reader into the world of showbiz and the cut throat garment business, From New York to Hollywood to Paris, Billy Ikehorn Orsini travels, Rich beyond belief, she spends money like running water, but always her heart gets broken, From the lying cheating movie husband Orsini, to a artist, Billy chooses the wrong men to love, Men who do not appreciate the love and talent she has to offer,
Into Billy's life comes a stepdaughter, an Orsini, who changes her world, she loves this young girl, and together they become a family.
This is a story of heart break, back stabbing bitchy women of Hollywood and New York, How the game is played, lost and won,
Outstanding read Ms, Kratz. Thank you. Though a sequel to Scruples it's a 'stand alone' novel,I have not read Scruples but Scruples Two was an interesting readthough some characters are short live but lovable and the plot was beautiful but then why did I gave itBecause some section of the book was boring and I still look forward to reading other Judith Kranz! Continuación de la saga iniciada con Scruples, esta novela perfila una galería de nuevos personajes y situaciones que someten a dura prueba a Billy Ikerhorn, la inolvidable protagonista de la serie.
Excellent sequel
The characters become almost like friends in this sequel to Scruples, Couldnt put it down, and and hoping to find Scruples! Krantzmore addictive than crack
This is my third Krantz and I'm hooked.
One more, amp I'll need rehab, Gone are the days when I'd happily fork overbucks for a sensible Paretsky or a tame Evanovich, Ranger who. Krantz is more addictive than crack, Luxurious locales, mesmerizing characters amp over the top drama
create a tantalizing tale that delivers a happy ending for Billy, I loved Scruples, and I loved this sequel writtenyears later, It continues the life of Billy Ikehorn, a fabulously rich and famous woman, known for her exclusive store Scruples,
It gives us the same sexual tension, the wonderfully described view into the life of the rich and famous, and the same 'what will happen next' intrigue.
Judith Krantz's final words are: "To Be Continued" I surely hope she is true to these words, I have the german edition, I forget how much we have changed as a society in what is considered acceptable and what isn't,
This book takes place from the mid's to the early's when certain things were considered normal and other things have yet to even happen
.
An example: Women who are pregnant drink alcohol, Yup. In this book and the previous one in this duet, two of the characters are pregnant at different times, One in the previous book is going to have her kid in the nexthours although she thinks it will be two weeks away, She thinks that alcohol that is made from fruit or is fruit flavored can't hurt the baby, because fruit is good for people, RIGHT Although she is kind of ditzy in the book, she isn't stupid.
Anyhow she talks the guy she is with into getting booze to drink because they are stressing
out over being nominated for the Academy Awards She's in it for best supporting actress and the awards are the next day.
Anyhow, her guy gets likedifferent types of fruit flavored liquors including Framboise, She likes that it has practically no flavor but it smells nice, She and her guy get totally bombed, In that book there is nothing wrong with that, There is no internal monolog saying "maybe I shouldn't", Nope, they get bombed and there are no repercussions, It happens again in this book at the beginning when the main heroine finds out she is unplanned and unexpectedly pregnant by her new husband.
She finds out because her Oscar dress was too tight, Her husband is up for best Picture he was the producer, She is pissed and goes home and has a couple of brandies, Then the next day in the beginning of this book she had multiple glasses of champagne,
That and the casual infidelity as well as the general tone of the early's with its mass capitalism.
I did find it funny how towards the end of the book two of the main characters think that they could go into the catalog business to sell their big idea of vintage lingerie.
However, they dont' think it would be a good idea because what catalog only sells lingerie Victoria's Secret hadn't been started yet, Also, in case you are too young to remember, Victoria's Secret was strictly a catalog store with more clothes, shoes and accessories than lingerie when it first came out in the early's.
Actually, they didn't even have lingerie then I don't think, It was a straight clothing catalog,
Another thing that made this book dated was the complete lack of technology that is abundant today, No computers, no cell phones, no phones that weren't actually attached to the wall so no cordless phones, The plot depended a lot on that fact, People weren't as accessible news wasn't so fast to get around,
Anyhow, I love this book, I read it for the first time inwhen I was stuck in my own version of quarantine at an inlaws home in Jordan.
No tv, nothing to do but read her books, She had a large library with all the Judith Krantz, Sydney Sheldon, Harold Robbins, and other books, It was there that I read my first "erotica", Billy Ikehorn: Meet again the magnificent owner of Scruples, Billy is imperious and stubborn, a creature of rampant sexuality, too rich, too vulnerable and far, far too impulsive, The story begins on the day after Scruples ended, the day on which Billy's husband, producer Vito Orsini, won the Oscar for Best Picture.
Spider Elliot, who reigns like a pasha at Scruples, is a man who adores women and can read their minds.
He is more than tough enough to stand up to Billy,
Valentine O'Neill is the brilliant young designer for Scruples, As alert as a vixen, hot tempered, and thoroughly lovable, she is as difficult to pin down as a mermaid,
Now Billy, Spider and Valentine have explosive unfinished business, Watch the sparks fly as this irresistible story unfolds with an enchanting new cast of characters, including Gigi Graziella Giovanna Orsini, Vito's daughter from an early marriage.
Gigi, with her charm, independence and wild sense of humour, changes the lives of everyone who knows her, It is Billy and Gigi who together dominate the new chapter in a story millions of readers wish had never ended, Beautiful story line this is my first book of the author Judith krantz, The story from starting till the end of book was captivating, Though this is second part of scruples it was easily understandable inspite of not reading first SCRUPLES, . . SO if u love books of women in leading character definitely can go for it, The book is full of friendship ,love ,role of stepmother, career oriented person faces ups and downs amp Success,/
Tackling the sequel tos classic SCRUPLES seemed the right decision last summer, Sun, surf
