really enjoyable read. I have devoured it and find it a most suitable fantasy read for children through adults, Although a great many of the characters are animals, I really didn't think of them as such, they were all just friends, I thoroughly recommend this book,
I received this book free from Goodreads Forst Reads, Read it in a day, easy read and a pretty entertaining way to kill an afternoon/evening,
Definitely going to read the second in the series at some point, probably later in the year,

Interesting story with "kewl" characters, This was an enjoyable and fun read, Goodreads Giveaway. Reeling from their mage father's disappearance, Jules and her twin, Dari fail their entrance exams for Solomon's University of Wizardary, When her mother accepts a job at FAA where familiars are trained, Jules is devastated, Her uneven magic becomes more chaotic especially after befriending Lance, a runt dragon, There is a Mad Prankster creating havoc and injury throughout the school and grounds, Jules and her new sentient animal friends and teachers face many perils and adventures as they search for clues to the identity of the havoc maker and her father's strange disappearance.
This was a light, heart warming fantasy with likeable characters and a unique setting, First in a series. Jules has been stuck in the Commons all of her deprived life, Now comes her fourteenth birthday and a chance to test for Solomons University of Wizardry, She can finally quit pretending to have only five senses, Through her seventh, she can channel the Seven Sources and cast magic, She has kept this secret hidden better than her fear of heights or blistering temper, The seventh son of a mighty Sylverr dragon, Lancelor was expected to be a powerful windsinger, Instead, at the size of an eagle, Lance is a lazy and accidentprone runt, When his magic is discovered to be chaotic magick, he escapes Castle Yonder barely ahead of the royal guard, Dragon Pawns is the first in the Jules and the Runt Dragon trilogy, a fun and thoughtprovoking blend of humor, mysteries and thrills, I received a copy of this book for free through a Goodreads giveaway,
I liked the constant allusion to anger through fire, The lack of control seeming apparent as well, this plays well with the characters strengths, and works to her weaknesses as well, Ironically, the same could be said for the other main character, minus the allegory to flame, Little guy doesnt have it easy at all, and needs as much help as he can get, He has power, just not in the standard ways one would consider, They make quite the unlikely duo, but compliment each other quite well, Without giving away anything about the book, its quite the engaging read, the events move at a reasonable price, without feeling rushed, The setting is well developed and fleshed out, you can feel some of the areas described in the book, almost as if they were real, The duality of the lifestyles is unique, and I dont see that, all that often, All in all, Id highly recommend the book to others, and likely will do so, this was well worth my time to read, This is one of those unfortunate books that I had to force myself to finish, It was very difficult to read because the author seemed to jump from one idea to the next without any transitioning, I couldn't visualize what was going on from the words on the page, So, needless to say, the writing was exceptionally awkward, the dialogue cliched and the characters flimsy, The sad part is that the idea was great but it was absolutely butchered, I want to put it in my word processor and rewrite it!
