Interesting but out of date, I picked this up because I wanted detailed insights into how Egyptians viewed Thoth's personality and characteristics I also wanted an analysis of some of the stories associated with the deity.
To these ends: this account serves that purpose, however, it's a shame that the Hathor section takes up so much of the book.

What frustrated me most about the text was Bleeker's approach to translation, He seemed quite happy to translate various ancient texts into English, but when it came to citing his contemporaries, many of whom were users of French, he evidently thought that no translation into English was needed.
