Get Started On Care Package: A Path To Deep Healing Narrated By Sylvester McNutt III Offered As Leaflet
was really a great read for me, Something about the writers style of writing made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, I was able to relate with the writer, I like this book a whole lot and Ill definitely be reading more of Sylvester Mcnutt "Nothing stays the same.
Be willing to grow, to learn, to transform, Be like the phoenix. " What a great book! I swear I flagged so many pages, This book left me feeling very positive, This is a great book, Easy to read. Heavy topics, but it doesnt read like a heavy book, Loved the format of the book from a few full pages of writing to small, poem like snippets throughout.
Really a path to deep healing Incredible book, Contains very simple truths and yet we all need to hear them, This book helped me to heal, grow and move forward, This was a great read, The author honorably exposes a variety of personal vulnerabilities and weaknesses that many people would relate to and offers his advice on those situations to heal the parts of your soul that have been damaged in the past.
Easy reading and good anecdotes that make you as the reader feel more at peace with what has transpired in your life and help you to understand your feelings are justified and your desire to heal is all within you.
Again, very easy reading and would recommend to anyone! Savored this book, I am a huge fan of Sylvester McNutt on instagram and saw clips of this book before it was released.
This is a great read for anyone that needs to start to put them self first and heal from the past.
Sylvester is vulnerable in this book, so it does not come off as an All Holier than Thou self help book.
Instead he tells how he is personally still evolving on this journey, just like anyone else, Great quotes that will stick with you and push you forward, I'd say like a.star
First off, I follow Sylvester on IG and his tidbits he shares on there is what sparked me to buy the book I figured as I'm sure most of the lowstar reviewers did that the book itself would have MORE than those little blurbs do, but it really doesn't.
It's pretty much all common sense and quite frankly there are so many pages of his little musings that it's just a waste of paper.
His stories and the way he writes is also not very helpful at all the way he writes is quite indicative of someone with narcissistic personality tendencies who also has a common grasp on mental health.
People like this are good at making the reader think they are reading something of substance by someone who understands them when in reality this is not the case.
This is not "a path to deep healing" but instead should be considered more as just peeling off the very first layer of your trauma it's not helpful for anyone who already is vastly aware they have healing to do or deeply rooted issues to address.
Incredibly disappointed with this but all in all if someone can find something helpful in this book then all the power to them, but if you have already been delving into your psyche and your mental health and past trauma, I highly doubt this book will help you at all.
The best advice I can give anyone that wants to read this book is to skip the prose sections theyre pretty bad and go right to the little bitesized ideas.
Yes, I know its weird that there are pages and pages of these one or two sentence things and the author feels the need to attribute each one to himself but look beyond that because theres some gold in there.
Recommended by my therapist and I didnt hate it, I have been a follower of Sylvester on Instagram and was intrigued to purchase his book since the content he posts on social media is uplifting and inspiring.
The overall takeaway I got from this book was about setting personal boundaries and being unapologetic for putting yourself and your needs first.
In a world where selfhelp books run rampant, this one is simple, straight to the point, and no fluff.
Young readers could easily read and understand this book, It is like the saying goes, "You can't pour from an empty cup, remember to take care of yourself first.
" God so good Corking Salve for the soul! Loved the bitesized content, So many gems on conquering your anxiety and healing from pains of the past, I love love love love love this book, I have so many quotes I saved, The book has little postit notes all over, I also wrote some out and put them on my mirror so each day I can read one, This spoke to me on so many different levels even to things I wasn't thinking about, This book was really great to read while so much hate, sadness and sickness is going on in this world right now.
It helped me put so many things in my life in perspective, It kept reminding me to take care of myself, my mind, self care everyday, to learn more about me and the people I surround myself with.
It's filled with many poems which I love but there were more poems than I really cared for, But otherwise it was like having Sylvester be right there talking to you like a friend having a real talk.
I have
been a follower of the author's Instagram for a while now and I always feel moved by the posts.
It's as of he speaks to your soul, He puts some of my thoughts into words, The vulnerability made me feel as though we were having a candid conversation amongst friends, It was hard to put down and so easy to read, I have highlighted underlined starred put hearts on almost every page, And I plan to read it again and again, And to go back when I need daily reminders, One of my favorite books, Very relatable and insightful. A must read!!! This book was very much needed, I think while everyone who is stuck in quarantine needs to read this book and instill this into their everyday lives.
I know Im definitely doing that, Ive learned so much by reading this, Five. In short, lifechanging. I loved the concise and to the point nature of the book, The structure was a refreshing change, Read it twice back to back, First time for me with any book ever, This was free therapy for me, I highlighted almost every page of this book, It is an easy read since you don't need to stress about following a plot, I know some people will use that as the reason to detract but I like it that way,
People had different childhoods while growing up and those who had or have an almost perfect life will really not resonate with this awesome piece of art and that is okay.
These are Nuggets of therapy I recommend Got this book in the mail today, Read it in a couple hours,/would read again, need to read again, It hit home on so many things and it was nice to be reminded that Im not insane for being me.
I made so many underlines and circled so many quotes that were exceptional points to remember, Such a quick and easy read, Loved McNutt's vulnerability of sharing his childhood and relationship with his parents, Learned a lot from his learned lessons, Tbh I love the author so much and I really enjoyed this book, He tells us something about his past, but also tells us something about his journey and its just really personal and deep.
