I really enjoyed the angst and sex filled journey between the two MCs.
The hero was footinthemouth, impulsive and reckless the heroine was cautious, strong and forgiving, and when they decided to take the second chance with each other, there were sparks!
A good conclusion to the series, where we see glimpses of HEA of all the members, and a surprising one for Hagen and Gigi.

Most of the time, I hate to see the series end, When an author ties up all the loose ends, and the ending of a series makes sense, it is a good thing.

FINAL DECISION: A romance about second changes with a sexy hero.

OPINION: This was a book where I enjoyed both the romance and the plot, Skye and Katrina have a sad and difficult history, This story, however, is not filled with angst, Instead, the story stays lighter despite the difficult history, This is a story that lives on the surface which makes it an enjoyable and quick read, I especially liked how different Skye is from his twin brother and how Skye lacks concern for his own safety but will protect himself to protect those who care for him.
For how much action is in this book, I was surprised at how much the romance was able to be developed.
This book manages to wonderfully conclude the series storyline regarding Hagen the head of the secret government agency that has been manipulating the characters in the series.
He finally gets his just desserts, Readers should know that this series is light and funny and the characters are larger than life and not realistic.
But the story is satisfying and I was especially pleased with the epilogue that gives readers an update on most of the couples in the series I'm still upset that there are couples who were left out!

WORTH MENTIONING: The epilogue of this book gives readers a final glimpse at the lives of the various couples from the series.


CONNECTED BOOKS: ACES HIGH is the tenth and final book in the Hagen series, It really should only be read as the conclusion to the series because there are too many characters and assumptions made about the knowledge of the reader to truly be enjoyable to someone who has not read the prior books.

Not Her Best Too Much Sex, Too Little Story,

I normally love Kay Hoopers books, whether they be her older series romance books or her newer full length romantic suspense books.
However, I was very disappointed in this book, It had a great premise but the execution was problematic,

The hero was a little bit too macho and controlling for my tastes but he also acknowledged his faults and was trying to change his behaviour.
The heroine seemed to lack a backbone much of the times, but like the hero, she was trying to change her behaviour and she did begin to assert herself a bit.


The plot seemed weak compared to some of Hoopers other books, It wasnt awful but it didnt do justice to the synopsis, which seemed to signify that the story would be extremely engaging unfortunately, I found that the story was boring and it didnt hold my interest.


The main reason for the boredom was that instead of focusing more on character and plot developments, Hooper substituted sex scenes for substance.
This was a relatively short book but a large portion was comprised of frequent long sexual encounters between the hero and heroine.
I like sex scenes in books and I dont mind if the scenes are even much more explicit than Ms.
Hoopers. The problem is when too much space is devoted to sex scenes, compared to the storyline, Everyone has his or her own tolerance for the length, frequency and explicitness of sex scenes, so some readers wont find it to be the problem that I did.


I wouldnt recommend this book to anyone, except for dedicated Hooper fans who want to complete the series.
This is not the book that someone new to Hoopers writing should start with, Unfortunately, it doesnt convey the way that Hoopers romance and romantic suspense books usually grab readers and hold their interest with stories that resonate long after the book is read.
