Access My Room Is A Dungeon Rest Stop Vol. 1 Authored By Tougoku Hudou Shown In Version

little isekai manga. The art is great and the ecchi scenes are perfect! Very funny and enjoyable, Theres not much of a story though but I doubt many people are reading it for the story, Good stuff. Had me laughing. The art is really good as well, Who wouldn't want to have a door from the apartment leading to a dungeon lol, Ahh! This manga is so cute, It's a fairly typical isekai EXCEPT Suzuki Touru isn't transported to or trapped in the fantasy world, he just has access to it through his new apartment! I love that his apartment is still grounded in the real world but he basically has access to the fantasy world like those snotty kids getting to Narnia through the back of their closet.
And when he bring Ria, a fantasy knight, back to his apartment she gets to experience what his world is like, Would that make it sort of a reverse isekai as well, then

This is just so funny, with Touru bringing various things over into the dungeon and experimenting with his stats and how leveling up in the dungeon effects his real world body.
I can't wait for volumeand to meet our new slime friend!

This is my first manga.
As a longtime gamer, I found this charming, and a novel view of what it would be like if our world overlapped with a real dungeon,

Touru faces the challenge awkwardly, but also shows that he's quickwitted and inventive as he explains our world to the dungeon knight and finds ways to make the dungeon useful in his life.

This does include a lot of sexy temptation frames, but nothing explicit, and nothing to overwhelm the plot, Recommend. Thanks to Edelweiss and the Seven Seas for sending me a digital copy of this Manga in exchange for an honest review,

My Room is a Dungeon Rest Stop is about Touru who rented a cheap apartment in order to save money, Turns out the apartment is so cheap because it's connected to a dungeon, yep, like one in an RPG,

The story starts out when he first walks out into the dungeon to find a female knight stretched out on the floor, he saves her by taking her back to his apartment to rest.
She mistakes him as a mage they spend the rest of the manga talking about another manga that she found in his room that featured the adventures of a knight, a mage and an elf with their little slime companion.
It's really a manga within a manga based upon, that manga, Yeah, a little confusing but it was kinda cute,

There were the usual flirtatious misunderstandings, but the girl was immune to his advances and it seems like the series might consist of them going off on their own adventure.
It was really what I expected it to be, This was so boring, underwhelming, and painfully unoriginal that I ended skimming the last half, I. SKIMMED. THE LAST. HALF. OF APAGE. MANGA.

Here's the thingI wasn't expecting some grand story or grand adventure, I was expecting the most amazing characters this side of fantasy manga, I wasn't expecting the most eyecandy artwork, All I expected, all I WANTED, was to be entertained, That's it. That's all this volume had to do, And TRUST ME, entertaining me IS NOT FUCKING DIFFICULT, And yet, this volume couldn't even do that, YOU HAD ONE FUCKING JOB AND YOU COULDN'T EVEN DO IT!!!!

You may be wondering, "why are you making such a big deal out of this So you didn't like it, so what" The reason why I'm making such a big deal out of this is because I am SO FUCKING SICK of weakass, boring as fuck fantasy stories like this.
I'm sick of boring, cookie cutter selfinsert main leads whose job is to be baffled and excited over what they are seeing but have NO FUCKING PERSONALITY, I'm sick of main female leads either being thirsty waifu bait with no fucking personality or ignorant waifu bait with no fucking personality, I'm sick of mediocre artwork that doesn't capitalize on the setting or doesn't try anything new, I'm sick of manga like this WASTING MY FUCKING TIME.
If you aren't going to at least TRY to make it more engaging/interesting, then DON'T FUCKING BOTHER, The market is already overly saturated with boring as fuck fantasy stories, WE DON'T NEED THIS SHIT,

Anyway, those are my thoughts, Don't even bother with this, it's not worth your time, read LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE instead, A really intresting take on isekai, well I'm not

sure it's exactly an isekai, isekai adjacent more like,
The whole apartment door linked to a fantasy world Dungeon was amusing and worked nicely, plus the characters are good with very cute moments,
I'm looking forward to seeing more Suzuki Touru is a college dropout in need of a place to live, With only a parttime job, there are not many places to livebut he lucks out and finds a two bedroom apartment for, yen, Yes, not sketchy at all! The moving his stuff in goes well, and then he opens a door and finds a pitchblack stone clad room also in his apartment.
In other words, a dungeon but the good news is he can still get back to his world! He just has to exit the window! Despite the dungeon in his apartment, dealing with that is no issue thanks to the cheap rent.

But of course everythings going to change once he finds a beautiful blonde knight in the dungeon

My Room is a Dungeon Rest Stop is the most typical manga adapted from a light novel there is.
That said, the premise of being a dungeon rest stop was appealing, It could set itself up similar to Restaurant to Another World, where different adventurers arrive at Tourus place, annoy him or eat his food, and never showed up again.
Or at minimum, had the dude explore the dungeon a lot more than he does in volume,

Instead, he meets Ria inside the dungeon, who is paralyzed by a poison, He ends up saving her but not before he accidentally scares her into passing out she thought he was goblin due to his look and his speech and carries her back into his apartment after she wet herself.
When they eventually are able to talk, he ends up lying about his circumstances about what he can do she thinks hes a mage due to all the exotic some of it otaku stuff in his room, and he decides to let her believe that and then a very common set of elements occur knight from another world is unfamiliar with modern stuff, hot girl takes multiple baths, and dude manages to get fantasy knight to dress in bloomers somehow, and shes ok with it.

In other words, very typical stuff youve seen before,

Thats the most disappointing part of this manga with the premise it has, it should be devoting more of its story to that rather than wasting an entire volume of Touru and Ria attempting to get used to each other.
At least make it like two or three chapters, It loosely introduces some RPG elements as Touru tries to explore the dungeon, but its kinda lame, He ends up trying out different human foods and drinks inside the dungeon when he learns from Ria they seem to have given her stat increases he fights a slime and ends up taking a really small slime into his apartment, and if that sounds boring to you, then yeah, I can confirm it pretty much is.
The only good part is him trying to understand that Ria is in an unfamiliar world, so it makes sense for him to ease her worries, even if that means sleeping with her and only just sleeping with her.

The start of the manga teases that Touru will head into the fantasy world with Ria, a slime, and a character thats on the volumecover.
At least have some of that in this volume! Or unless its just a feint, and his trip into another world is not gonna happen, I wouldve taken that over this, Its just a very ordinary manga with haremish aspects and a hot naked lady, Just go read High School Prodigies Have it Easy instead for a manga based on a light novel thats at least fun,

Justin.
