Sadie and three other Amish young women went to Hawaii on a cruise ship for a vacation, several years ago.
Sadie has been mulling over the idea of blending some traditional Amish quilt patterns with traditional Hawaiian patterns,  As she tells her friends about her ideas, one of them encourages her to write a book about it,

Sadie's boyfriend, an Amish man named Wyman is proving that he is not trustworthy for a relationship, maybe not even marriage,  Wyman doesn't like any of the jobs he has tried, he likes them for a couple of weeks and then he gets tired of them or bored,

Wyman doesn't like the idea of Sadie writing a quilt book, all that extra time she could be spending with him, she's busy with her book.

Sadie must care for Wyman a lot, I don't think I would stay in the relationship, if I was in her shoes,

An original story,  Keeps you guessing.  Highly recommended.

I am thankful to have received a complimentary copy of this book from Shiloh Run Press with no obligation to post a review, Another Amish romance by Jean Brunstetter and Wanda E, Brunstetter!! In the past, Ive reviewed Twice as Nice Amish Romance and A Heartwarming Romance Collection, I especially enjoy The Blended Quilt because it ties in my home state of Hawaii into it! Oh, I never realized there were similarities in Amish and Hawaiian quilting!

The Blended Quilt by Jean Brunstetter amp Wanda E.
Brunstetter. Barbour Publishing, Inc. Release date: . ISBN:
Ive read a few books by these ladies and Ive enjoyed them all quite a bit, I really enjoy reading about the Amish, The Philadelphia Dutch is becoming familiar to read, if only I knew how to speak it! The Amish way of life is an enticing one that leaves out so much of our hustle and bustle of daily life rushing here or there and spending so much time with the benefits of electricity and the internet.
Every time I read an Amish story Im reminded of how privileged I am and I shouldnt take advantage of it,

This sweet romance story brought me personal realizations of selfishness, The main characters seem to both be selfish in their own situations, Its always the other thats selfish, Isnt selfishness difficult to realize in ourselves The way these characters treat others and how they carry themselves helped me to pay closer attention to my own words and actions.

One issue I had with this story was that the main characters seemed to rush from feeling the other is selfish to suddenly ready for marriage.
There wasnt much of a transition that either felt their God and family should come before themselves, It seemed rushed to go from wanting what makes them happy to getting married, Otherwise, this is a lovely story,

A digital copy of The Blended Quilt by Jean Brunstetter amp Wanda E, Brunstetter was provided complimentary by Barbour Publishing, Inc, via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, I give this book four our of five because of the selfreflection I found myself doing and the fact that the two main characters didnt seem to be ready for marriage just yet.
When I sit down to read a Brunstetter novel, I know that I can relax, unwind and I will be in for a great read, From the beginning to the end, she'll keep me hooked and leave me with a refreshed heart and mind, That was no different with THE BLENDED QUILT, I sat down, turned the pages and got to know all of the amazing characters and their families in this story, With wonderful, inspiring messages, Brunstetter delivers her fans another great book that will make the readers fill every single emotion,

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Author/Publisher and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative, Sadie Kuhns is a sensible young Amish woman, She visited Hawaii and now wants to make a quilt with Amish patterns and Hawaiian patterns to commemorate her time on the islands, She's also selfpublishing a book, With all the time invested in these projects her relationship with her boyfriend suffers as he feels like everything she is doing is way more important than him.

He also has some issues of his own as he can't find satisfaction in any of the jobs he has and Sadie worries he won't be able to support a family if they marry.

As she gets deeper into her book promotion her relationship really suffers and he breaks it off with her though he doesn't want to,
The book has a really great life lesson in it because we all have things that are important to us but at what price
The book makes you pause to think about your own life and what you are doing in it.

It's all about balancing what's important to us with family obligations and spending time, not just time but quality time with the one's important to us,
I love the life lessons I find in this author's books, They are not preachy but done in a subtle way so that you may not even realize they are a lesson but you'll be shaking your head in agreement as you read this book.

Does Sadie find a way to balance what's important to her or is all lost
Wonderful book and recommended!

Thank you.
All opinions expressed are my own, The story of young Amish woman Sadie Kuhns and her quest to find love and independence in her life was a unique and uplifting story, She decides that the young man who is courting her, Wyman Kauffman, doesnt really have an aim in his life, so he is not for her, Honestly, he was a very weak character who thought that flitting from job to job and borrowing money from his brother was the way to go in his life.
Fortunately, Sadie saw right through his proclamations in love and decided to break it off with him, She dedicated herself to creating a unique quilt that combined her Amish heritage and her new found love for the Hawaiian islands that she visited, Her independent spirit is an anomaly in Amish fiction and I was delighted to read her story, The characters in the story were wonderful and very human, I enjoyed seeing the family support and love that held up Katie in her quest for love and a place in her world, Fans of Christian/Amish fiction will totally fall in love with this clean read!

It is a lovely book,

It tells the story of Sadie Kuhns as she decided to writes a book about how she made a unique patterned quilt using a traditional Amish pattern with a Hawaiian pattern.
She does this in honor of the time she spent in Hawaii with her friends,

Sadie gets so involved in this venture that her relationship with Wyman Kauffman begins to suffer, Sadie has to make some serious decisions about what is important in her life, Being a famous author, wealth, or family and love,

Follow Sadie as she learns what really is important to her and why,

I was given an ARC by the authors and Barbour Publishing but was not required to give a positive review, The views are my own, Sadie and Wyman's relationship is a bumpy one, He can't commit to a job and Sadie is frustrated, She starts a personal project of a quilt combining the reminders of her past trip to Hawaii and her Amish heritage, There are some rough patches in their relationship as Sadie inherits a large amount of money, writes a book that takes her away from home as she promotes it and yet throughout, the relationship hangs by a thread.

It is a clean read and interesting, as the relationship continues to struggle, The story shows how patience and faith are sometimes important in life and that life does not always run smoothly but even the best relationships have issues to deal with and overcome.

Sadie Kuhns and Wyman Kauffman have been courting for awhile, However, when Wyman was not forth coming on a decision that would affect their future together, Sadie knows that it might be best if they broke up until Wyman's priorities are more aligned with their future.
They both love each other and know that a tough love must happen to make the changes they need to have a strong foundation, To set her mind off Wyman and their break up, Sadie turns to making a blended quilt which leads to a dream that is not reachable for the Amish.
However, when a aunt passes away, her dreams turn into a nightmare,

Both Sadie and Wyman learn spiritual lessons of contentment, How contentment changes your priorities, What is interesting in their story they seem to flip, Distractions become key in their relationship and in their faith, Their families are supportive in learning this lesson along with what drives a community, You will be encouraged by what contentment means and how we live in contentment,

A Special thank you to Barbour Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review,

This book deserves more thanstars, I would certainly give it more
I loved this book from the very start and couldn't put it down until I was finished with it,
Sadie did certainly have a lot going on for her throughout this book, I must say I admired her very much and I loved her attitude through the book was awesome! I was so very proud of her!
Wyman I wasn't so sure about and he proved me right on this account.
He wasn't my cup of tea, In fact I felt sorry for him because he wouldn't/couldn't see past the end of his own nose!
Family is supposed to mean everything right I think in this case it's so very true.
Family needs to stick together in whether it's a crisis, health, and prosperity as well, I thought this family did rather well, They had something most families don't,
The Lord is good and He's there for all of us if we only let Him be,
I love that Michael and Lovina is a strong and stalwart couple, They do set a perfect example for everything that holds a marriage together and I appreciate that aspect, They are by no means perfect and I liked that about them,
Brunstetter has written a beautiful story one that I would reread again and again because of the wonderful characters that are portrayed in this book, It was really good to see some characters from the previous books and what they've been up to, I've really missed them.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves reading about the Amish, This book is sooooo good!
My thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book and I was NOT required to write a positive review, All opinions are my own, This Amish story is unusual as it intertwine a lot of the English world into the story, Sadies love for quilts gave way to an idea of blending her Amish heritage and her trip to Hawaii into a quilt, After all, her one close friend Mandy lived in Hawaii and Sadies dream was to return there one day, There were plenty of twists and turns with Sadies relationship with Wyman, as he had a tendency to be irresponsible if he was considering marriage, The ups and downs Sadie experienced after an inheritance from her namesake aunt, brought new challenges

as well as the connection to an Englischer that could assist her with her dream of publishing a book.
Will Sadie be able to find what she really wanted in life after having a taste of being exposed to the English world

The Blended Quilt can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend readers read the Hawaiian Quilt series to have a better background of the characters.
