Green Mountain Blessings Booknot amongst some of the worst books ive ever read, but not good.
characters were
poorly defined and oftentimes acted in strange, irrational ways, character development was forced and undeserving, easter lasted half a page, wasnt really sure what role it even played in the story some real potential to be decent Great book, Another fun great story from Jo Ann Brown, Love her books. We are back in the Green Mountains and with the people volunteering to build new homes for those who lost them in the floods,
This story focuses on Abby Kauffman and David Riehl, now doesn't that name sound Amish, and a young teen orphan who has become David's new daughter.
I loved that this story shows the goodness to help fellow men, and we see it in many ways, we also meet a bunch of bullies, some teenagers, an others grown adults.
Also we try to find solutions the the guilt some of these individuals are holding on to,
There is a bit of romance here, how these two are able to come together is a road full of rubble and road blocks.
A quick read, and a book to get lost in,
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Love Inspired, and was not required to give a positive review, Enjoyable read, I like that Brown showed the Amish community pitching in to help an English community after a disaster, An Amish Easter Wish
Find out how Abby Kauffman helps in a community that rebuilds after been flooded and how she helps and Englisher and his niece this is a must to read book if you don't have Jo Ann Brown you have wrote another great book Full marks for dealing with environmental disaster.
In this case a flood has devastated a town in the previous book which I have not read and an Amish lady helps out with a Mennonite disaster aid service.
The lengthy recovery work after the flood and ongoing upheaval show us that it's never as simple as the news coverage, which lasts a few days and moves on to the next site.
Houses are flooded out, lives have been lost, an orphan tries to settle with a new foster dad and if your deep freeze stops working, how can you keep feeding all the volunteers And then suppose your society's rules say you should not speak to the repairman
Some comical contradictions occur, but overall this is a lively romance read.
We learn the value of pitching in and helping others,
I downloaded an eARC from Fresh Fiction and Net Galley, This is an unbiased review, An Amish Easter Wish is the second wonderful story written by Jo Ann Brown in her Green Mountain Blessings series, The cover really makes you feel like Spring and Easter is involved in this story, The characters are very well defined and likeable, The storyline keeps the readers interest to the final page,
Abby Kauffman is a volunteer overseeing kitchen duties at the community center, Everyone really likes Abby and is willing to do what ever needs done, When Abby meets Englisher David Riehl and his daughter Mikayla she has no idea she she get entwined in helping to heal a family, But Abby being the kind loving Amish woman she can't turn away from them no matter how difficult the circumstances are, Davis is hiding a secret from his past and when it is finally revealed Abby can understand a lot of choices he has made, This story contains faith, a bully, love, and forgiveness, The author has done an exceptional job telling her story thru her characters,
I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review, I was not approached to post a favorable response, This story has been rated with five for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others,
Congratulations to No Ann Brown for releasing another enjoyable story for her readers, Where is Abby Kauffman from Where do we find her How does David meet her Why does David seem at war with getting to know Abby and hating her I like Mikayla! I did not like Hunter and his group for a while until I learned something surprising! David's parents were a surprise as well! This was another great book on the rebuilding of the Vermont town.
I look forward to more!
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT from Netgalley FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin' With M.
Brennan. I very much enjoyed this sweet Amish story by Jo Ann Brown, She's a wonderful author that can instantly draw her readers in from the beginning and can make her stories realistic and believable, She also has the ability to make new readers fans for life like me,
I felt like this too was a perfect read for the holiday Easter, Easter is a special time and we all or some of us really know what Easter is all about, Isn't God amazing! I love watching HIm work things out in His own timing, He has a plan for each and every one of us and this story can be used for proof of that,
The Amish are an amazing people, I love their simple ways, And their food! Oh my gosh!
I was rooting for Abby right from the get go because I liked Abby from the beginning, Her ability to want to help others and connect to a teenager amazed me, I was instantly hooked because I wanted to keep turning the pages to see if Abby could work it out with this family,
I won't tell you what happened because that is what the blurb on the back of the book is for,
I loved the story and I finished this story in a few hours, I think what I liked about this book was that it leaves you thinking about long after the story is done,
Will Abby have a happy ending Youll just have to read this book to find out! I think youll love it just as much as I did.
My thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for a copy of this book, I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinion are my own, This is a very special and touching story about helping others, forgiveness, love, and overcoming judgmental attitudes and guilt,
Book Quote:
"Stop feeling guilty for every little thing that happens, Give that guilt and your pain to God, He's strong enough to shoulder the burden and let you find joy again, " A flood brings Abby Kauffman to Evergreen Corners with a team of volunteers to help the town recover from a flood,
David when from being a bachelor to instant father when he received guardianship of his friend's teenage daughter, He wants to be a good father to her, but is struggling to connect with her,
Could a natural disaster help two people find love
Abby is very outgoing and friendly, she connects instantly with Mikayla.
She also loves feeling useful and helping others, but carries guilt from her past, She is a natural with teenagers and she wants to help David and Mikayla however she can,
Englisher David Riehl is struggling to raise his new daughter, he wants to be a good father, but all of his efforts don't seem to be making a dent.
He is surprised by Abby's kindness, as his family had a bad experience with the Amish when he was younger, But as they get to know each other he is drawn to her love for others and kindness,
Overall, a heartwarming and enjoyable read about forbidden love, family, and faith, I loved how Abby and David work together and get to know each other that way while also helping Mikayla adjust to her new life.
Sweet, and easy to read,
I received a complimentary copy of this book, Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own, A touching tale of love, forgiveness, overcoming obstacles and helping others,
I love the efforts that the community is doing in this series after the natural disaster demolished the town, Abby is a character that caught my eye in the previous book of the series just because her character is so appealing, she is a strong leader, she is organized, structured, kind, considerate, loyal, her goal in life is to help others, and she is always looking for the little ways she can make others lives a bit easier.
What a role model to have for us all,
David has a lot of the same characteristics that Abby has, yet he is ridden by the guilt of survival, and the secrets his family holds.
The efforts David and Abby are making to help the teenagers, to stop the bullying, to help the community, and the elderly are commendable, another great illustration of leading by example.
An uplifting, inspiring, and entertaining tale of the Amish and englischer working together to help the community,
Four Spoons Fixing a family isnt what she signed up for
Patching hearts wasnt the plan
But this father and daughter need her help.
Overseeing kitchen volunteers while the community rebuilds after a flood, Abby Kauffman doesnt expect to get in between Englischer David Riehl and the orphaned teenager hes raising.
But Abby can tell David is struggling, and shes determined to help him bond with the girl, Might Abby be the missing ingredient to bring this makeshift family together for Easter,
