HIM LOVED is just what it says: A SWOONY SMALLTOWN ROMANCE, It starts out with a slowburn, but when it catches fire it is blazing hot, There is plenty of chemistry between a gorgeous country boy from Bampton Valley, Iowa and the pretty girl from the Big City of Minneapolis,
The story starts out with Audria Griffin graduating from college, She thought she might have a job lined up to teach at a private school in the city, So, when that fell through, she found herself feeling lucky that she found a teaching job in Bampton Valley, Iowa, A smalltown surrounded by corn fields, wheat fields and a whole lot of nothing, She accidentally elbowed a good looking man, right in his gut, on her first day in town, Reeve Colton was his name and he would end up making her temporary stay in Bampton a whole lot better, He had the blackest hair and the most beautiful blue eyes, He had a wink and a smile with dimples that would win over any girl he wanted, He was an outrageous flirt, He seemed to be just as taken with Audria as she was with him, She fast became Reeve's dream girl and he became her idea of a “perfect” boyfriend, Their only problem was a major one, Her teaching contract was a temporary one, When it ran out so did her time in Bampton, She would have to say goodbye to the town, and worst of all leave Reeve and her heart behind!
I wouldn't have thought the decision to stay or go would be so hard.
Reeve took her on Never/Ever Dates to do things she never thought she would do or want to do, But he made it fun! He could play the guitar and sing, He wrote a song just for her, Their first kiss was the best she ever had, so you just knew he had other untried talents, They went from strangers to friends, then friends with benefits, to lovers that never want to say goodnight or goodbye, Was it really inevitable that she leave Romance Book Readers here is a must read book for you, Leave Him Loved gave me ALL THE FEELS!!! I always love how unique Harloe's books are, and how no two are the same! It's quite rare to have that different range of voice in the romance land, and I'm all here for it.
This one wasn't my absolute favorite of hers, but it did have some truly great moments!
This is the story of Audria and Reeve, who are very much into each other right away, but convince themselves that they aren't.
Audria is only in town for a years time, so she doesn't want to start anything serious, Which is good, because that's the left thing Reeve wants too, right
These two really do have an amazing connection with one another, but the spacing just felt so off.
Because of Audria'a year time limit, the story revolves around that time, so i felt like we were missing key moments of their relationship that were glossed over or just skipped entirely.
This is also kind of an Insta love/forced slow burn, and that didn't really work for me either, I wish we had more buildup to them, and at the same time I wished they didn't fight what they felt for each other as long as they did,
There were definitely some cute moments though! Their banter and steam were both out of this world, but my issues above were the reasons why I didn't connect with them like I wanted.
Overall though, this is great addition to Harloe's romances!
I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!
Oh my goodness, Harloe knocked it out of the park once again with this sweet, sassy, sexy smalltown romance with allllll the feels, y'all.
In this city girl meets country boy romance, Audria and Reeve collide with witty puns and conversations and enough sexual chemistry to light up a big city, Whew. From their stellar meetcute to the months of flirty friendship because they agreed on it, to the ultimate first kiss, . . gah, this story was everything!
I love Harloe's smalltowns, She puts so much depth in side characters and the setting I want to live within the pages, This story had the laughter, swoon, and a tinge of heartbreak and then wraps up in the sweetest, sexiest ending, I adored both Reeve and Audria, although once again we have a couple who assumes, makes rapid decisions, and don't communicate, but at least this time they handled it quickly and without the drama.
This right here is why Harloe Rae is a oneclick author of mine, I haven't read book of hers i haven't loved,

Leave Him Loved had such great potential, but for me, it fell short at the end, Its the first time Ive read a book where the hero and heroine have such strong chemistry, and clear attraction to one another, but for no reason at all, choose not to act on it for so long, which meant I was left frustrated and annoyed because there was never an explanation.
Audria moves from Minneapolis, to a tiny town in Iowa for her first teaching job, Shes a true city girl, so takes a while to adjust to the country life, but its helped by the tall gorgeous farmer she runs into on her first day in town.
Reeve is instantly drawn to the pretty out of towner but quickly puts the brakes on anything romantic happening between them, despite their chemistry, They decide to be friends, as Audria is only in town for the school year and start spending time together, After months of flirtation and small touches, they deicide to change to a friend with benefits situation, and feelings quickly develop, although they hide them from each other, Will Audria ever want to trade in the city life for a small town for good
The build up to this relationship was so well done, you could feel the chemistry between Audria and Reeve coming off the page, despite the fact he put a block on anything more happening so early on.
I loved their never ever dates, and their flirty friendship meant that they knew each other on a deeper level than just diving into a friends with benefits situation, Neither wanted a relationship, and it was clear why to begin with because of Audrias time being limited in town, but when feelings began to get involved, she no longer saw that as a problem.
In fact, she was never opposed to a relationship really, the main issues always stemmed from Reeve, While I liked his honesty at the start, how he didnt want to lead her on, and I am all for people not dating just because they dont want to, but his internal feelings didnt reflect his actions.
Because of this, I was waiting for the big reveal at the end, maybe something had happened in Reeves past that meant he was scared of relationships, or having had something happened which meant he didnt believe in love, but nothing ever came.
I was left frustrated and it meant I never felt truly connected to the couple, specifically Reeve because I just couldnt understand his actions,
There were some aspects of this book, I loved the smalltown vibe, and I did like Audrias character but wasnt a fan of Reeve, Audrias friendships were great too, her friends from college all have me intrigued for their own stories and I loved how easily she settled into small town life and was accepted by the citizens.
I really liked Reeves best friend Gavin, I feel like he has a story too, and it was all going so well until their friends with benefits relationship happened, Finally, the ending left me feeling a bit like Id been sold short on something, Reeve did a complete, once again with no explanation, so I never got behind their reunion.
I have really liked Harloes books in the past, and loved the first half of this one, but by the end, Leave Him Loved just wasnt the one for me.
