liked this story but the plot was obvious, I mean, it was impossible to miss that Roxanne was the evil one in the tale, sabotaging their relaitonship, and it was hard to miss that he wanted children and she was running away because she couldn't give them to him.
I did find the fact that it was his mother stealing from Cath that caused her to come back to Gabe for help in figuring out how to save her company.
So that was unexpected but I guess in hindsight that it should have been obvious too, So not a very inspiring plot, She is so shallow I mean, he's so open about loving her, how could she doubt that he would discard her for not being able to have children.
What does a man do when his lover leaves him, and he's never going to get over her And one day she comes to his office, asking for his help He makes an offer she can't refuse to get her back.
That's what Gabe Piretti does in Mr, Strictly Business. As the saying goes, this story had me at hello,

This was a very good story about love, and how the external and internal influences can break up a couple that truly should have stayed together.
Fortunately, the future is not set in stone, and if we really work for something that we long for, we'll get it, Gabe was willing to work to earn Catherine back, He might be a corporate raider, but he's a man with a heart, and he had a lot more sensitivity that he is given credit for, Catherine had her reasons for leaving him, Reasons that were valid and quite heartbreaking, What upset me in this story is that neither of them picked up on what was tearing them apart and acted on it, the first time around.
There was some real tragedy in that, But the good news, is that this couple will be stronger than ever now,

Ms. Leclaire is a very good writer, Her romances are enticing and keep my interest, I like and admire her characters, and her stories have some life and poignancy to them, This book definitely shows her strengths as a writer,

There are a few elements and tropes that are somewhat predictable, if you're a keen reader of series romances, But, you probably shouldn't read these if that will bother you too much to enjoy this book, Having said that, I did have some heartburn over 'the evil that men do' apparent in this story,

Obvio demais, previsível demais, não é uma estória ruim, apenas repetitiva, não há novidade, já li vários livros com o mesmo enredo, mas cada um tinha algo de novo, não é o caso este livro, infelizmente.


Nas primeiras páginas já sabia qual era o segredo que Catherine escondia de Gabe,

Mas isso não é nada, o que me irritou, ou melhor, me decepcionou foi o lindo Gabe, que confirmou, sem o menor sinal de culpa ou arrependimento, que sabia da falta de caráter da secretária, mas achou que essa falta de escrúpulos da dita cuja poderia ser útil aos negócios.


Poupeme, quem gosta de ficar cercado de pessoas que não vale nada, nem um centavo, Minha opinião é de que é da mesma laia, tem tão pouco caráter quanto à maldita secretaria, apesar de ser lindo, não perdôo,

Gabe tidak begitu saja mau menolong CAtherine, Dia mengajukansyarat penting yaitu mengetahui siapa partner di perusahaan EO Catherine dan ingin Catherine kembali ke rumah mereka,

Catherine yang memendam rasa kekecewaan mendalamtahun yang lalu, ragu akan permintaan kesempatan kedua ini, Dia takut terluka akibat persoalan yang sama, Tetapi tampaknya semua jalan untuk menyelamatkan perusahaan Catherine sudah tertutup, Apalagi dengan adanya sabotase di pesta yang dikoordinasi Catherine,

Namun lagi lagi kekecewaan yang sama yang ditemui Catherine, di hari pertama dia kembali ke rumah Gabe,

Sanggupkah Catherine mempertaruhkan perasaannya kembali untuk menghadapi persoalan yang ditinggalkannyatahun yang lalu
Sanggupkah Gabe meyakinkan Catherine bahwa dia layak diberi kesempatan kedua
Apakah mungkin sebuah hubungan bisa diperbaiki jika diberi kesempatan kedua


Hm.
. . kesempatan kedua . semua orang pasti pernah berbuat kesalahan dan berharap diberikan kesempatan kedua untuk memperbaiki kesalahan itu, Tapi terkadang tidak semua persoalan di kehidupan nyata ini bisa diperbaiki dengan sebuah kesempatan kedua,

Ketika kesempatan kedua itu datang yang ada hanya kejadian yang sama terulang kembali,

Jika sudah demikian, masihkah berharap akan adanya kesempatan kedua Hm, . saya pribadi berfikirtidak terima kasih, cukup sekali saja merasakannya.

Gabe is all Alpha male with a touch of Beta, Cukup bisa jadi hiburan di waktu senggang, Soal si Roxanne emang bikin mangkel berlapislapis, Dari dia, saya belajar kalau pelakor luar negeri lebih serem daripada pelakor Indonesia yang sukanya jambakjambakan dan kirim santet! Untunglah endingnya sesuai harapan awal saya, jadi gak ngedumel lagi.
Second chancenya sukses membawa sad ending menjadi happy ending, . . suka dengan karakternya Gabe Pirreti yang terus kekeuh mo balikan dengan Catherine walo awalnya reaksi dari heroine ini begitu dingin dan acuh terhadap segala sesuatu usaha dari Hero untuk memperbaiki hubungan mereka.


Dan gw bersyukur, ada juga cerita yang menghukum si jahat, Karena akhirini tokoh si jahat dibiarkan begitu saja sama authorlain sehingga gregetannya itu nyampe ke ubunubun banget dah, . . apalagi Ibu dari Gabe Pirreti begitu mendukung mereka untuk bersatu lagi dengan melakukan halhal yang tidak terduga, Pertanyaannya: kenapa mesti nunggu sampaibulan sih baru si Gabe ini melakukan usaha perbaikan hubungan merekapadahal si hero tahu kalo heroine tinggal bareng ma Ibunya, . . hadeuhhh,capek deh.
