I got this book around Christmas when I was in the historical holiday romance spirit It wasn't too bad of a read, but it did slow down around the end which threw me off.
I liked a lot how right off the back it jumped into Myles and Kendran's relationship and focused solely on them, The side character, Lady Sybil, who is Kendran's halfsister and considered a sorceress was interesting as well, plus she added some fun twists to the story, Overall, The Knight before Christmas was enjoyable, but don't expect a great indepth history packed tale, . . just an easy romance read,
Likes: Myles amp Kendran's interactions while holding out the snowstorm in the cabin was cute like bean tossing, etc,
Dislikes: The beginning of the book began with a bang, but it sizzled out in the end for me, Plus, the cover of the book isn't actually one where I feel comfortable reading in public, Ik heb de Nederlands talige uitgave gelezen : Een feeks als bruid Candlelight Historische roman,
The wintry Scottish Highlands is the setting for Jackie Ivie's magical new novel of a man and a woman who battle the elements and each other to learn that the season's greatest gift is love.

A Reluctant Husband
Caught in a furious blizzard, battleweary Myles Donal has only two options: die alone in the snow, or make his way home by order of his sire to marry a woman known as the Harridan of the Highlands.
The warm glow of light in a small croft will only delay his fate, . .
A Rebellious Bride
Kendran is not about to share her hardearned shelter with anyone, especially not a man! Running away from an arranged marriage was her only chance at freedomand she'll not forfeit it to another arrogant male.
. . even one as devilishly attractive as Myles Donal, . .
A Wedding To Remember
Snowbound and equally stubborn, Myles and Kendran engage in a battle of wills that quickly becomes a passion too fiery to ignore.
"Wedded bliss" may be an abhorrent concept to both of them, but true love is not so easily denied, . .
Kendran is a tall blond beauty who is set to marry an ancient Earl that her father and mother have set up for her, The middle child of three girls she just happens to be the most loving and gentle, At least until she's caught in a dire predicament and no escape to be had,
Myles Donel is one hunk of a man and huge by any ones standards, A fearless knight and heir to his clan, his father has made a marriage pact with a neighboring Earldom, Worldly though he is, he can really be dense at times and

smart as he is, he can also be a wee bit stupid and stubborn too, Oh and yes he wears a kilt! YUMM!
The story takes place in Scotland and is set so that each of our characters is to be wed as soon as the bride price can be had.
Kendran coming from a poor clan who needs the monies that this will bring is Hell bent on staying single for as long as she can, Deciding to not take her sister's advice, Kendran sets out on a countryside ride that leaves her caught in an intense blizzard, Luckily for her she finds a broken down croft and does her best to make it as livable as possible in order to save her life,
Myles is on his journey after a major beating from his father and his personal guards, He also is unfortunate enough to get caught in the blizzard only because of the poor condition he is in, He stumbles along Kendran's emergency croft and falls at her door,
The story gets deliciously steamy and down right comical as our two characters interact, As the storyline progresses we get back to Kendran's family keep and the real fun starts there, Everything is ass backwards from what our characters think and the whole story just makes you want to keep reading with a need to know what our delightful author is going to come up with next.
The author has done a wonderful job of giving us a great read full of hot romance, steamy sex and characters that sometimes don't know which way they are going.
I absolutely loved the ending, It was a complete and total surprise and brought tears to my eyes, Tears of happiness that is, I only wish I knew why my Knight Before Christmas hasn't shown up yet, Mediocre plot. mediocre sex scenes. real emotion. entirely too much scottish jargon, even for someone who's read several historical romances in that period, jackie ivie you're no marsha canham, nothing "christmasy" about the knight before christmas,.stars
this is a decent series, it's another way for me to get my brawny scots fix,
she's a pretty good writer, unfortunately, her books are hard to come by,
i don't have a kindle/nook amp i think most of the selections are available that way so it's always a delight when i find one of her paperback books.
i thought this would be the typical formula story but there was a surprising twist in the middle,
so the story went where i wasn't expecting it to which was a nice change,
lots of steamy sexual tension b/w thecharacters,
some humor.
