The only survivors of the last war were those who made it into the gates of the Metro, the subway system of Moscow city.
Its there, hundreds of feet below the ground, in the vaults of what was constructed as the worlds largest air raids shelter that people try to outlive the end of the days.
Its there that they created a new world for themselves,
The stations of Metro became city states, and its citizens, torn apart by religions and ideologies are fighting for the now scarce commodities: air, water, and space.
This tiny underground world can only remind humans of an immense world they once were the masters of,
Its been twenty years past Doomsday, and yet the survivors refuse to give up, The most stubborn of them keep cherishing a dream: when the radiation level from nuclear bombings subsides, they will be able to return to the surface and have the life their parents once had.
But the most stubborn of the stubborn continues to search for other survivors in this huge emptiness that once was called Earth, His name is Artyom. He would give anything to lead his own people from the underground onto the surface,
And he will,

Has to be read. If you do hesitate, then stop, I am enjoying the book in generalBUTit is so badly written, with so many mistakes grammatical errors, wrong words usedit's a mess just like Metroand it is quite hard to understand what the author means in certain parts due to that.
The only book in the series which had been proof read waswell done Andrew Bromfield, Glukhovsky should be ashamed, publishing a book this badly written, I will consider returning it after I read it, at least I shall get my money's worth, star as this is thend book which has seen no proof reading lesson for Glukhovsky to be less arrogant, Le maître du Post apocalyptique À lire absolument !!! Livré plus vite que prévu pour une fois cest appréciable ! Un incontournable quand on a lu les deux premiers volets on ne peut quêtre impatient davoir le troisième dans les mains.
Metrois the final book in the brilliant post apocalyptic series by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky, It continues the story of Artyom, the protagonist of Metroas he desperately searches for survivors of the terrible World War, Artyom now has a family and is a Stalker someone who travels to the surface of irradiated Moscow, Up top, he makes contact with survivors and tries to convince the people of the Metro that there is life for mankind up above, But no one believes him so Artyom must travel the tunnels trying to find evidence to convince the populous he is right, But along the way, he meets returning characters, Homer and Sasha from Metrowho help and hinders his journey, And finally both he and the reader uncover the disturbing truth about the history of the Metro, A huge twist that was incredibly well thought out and written and was totally unexpected!!!This book is much much darker than the other two, with many scenes that demonstrate the worst of humanity, so prepare for some shocking moments! The atmosphere created by Glukhovsky is incredibly tense and draws you in page by page into Artyom's perilous life story.
Plus this is the illustrated version, which makes it all the better! The pictures are gorgeous giving us a brief insight into the world of Metro.
Just to note, Metroanddo have illustrated versions that match this one but they are hard to track down especially in the UK because of being American first printings.
But with perseverance, you should be able to have a matching set of books, My only bugbear is the layout of the words, it's a bit on the dodgy side, sometimes space will be forgotten between words or something is needlessly capitalized but either way, I never found it to distract or discourage my reading of Metro.
An incredible finally to a fantastic book series!! I love so much and they maybe have rocketed to the top of my favourites list!! I highly recommend this and the other two books, go read them now and enjoy!!! Sur leslivres métro, un seul est arrivé avec des pages pliées et une de déchirée, c'est dommage, leslivres ont été rangés n'importe comment dans le carton.
I discovered Metroby chance a few years ago and thought it was one of the best Sci Fi books I had ever read, with a rich, fascinating world although I had found the ending a bit disconnected, and hard to believe in.
When Metrowas published, I couldn't wait to read it but I didn't like it as much as it wasn't the same hero and I couldn't connect to the main protagonists.
Metrogoes back to the original character, Artyom, but somehow, the magic isn't there any, Perhaps it is unavoidable when the environment, the Moscow underground network, is restricted, and there is perhaps only so much you can make of it, but I felt that, after Metro, the other books in the trilogy were a re hash.
I stopped reading this one half way through, Le livreur a déposé le colis au dessus de la boîte au lettre et il pleuvait donc colis très humide, Livre heureusement pratiquement rien Love the series, great story, Very immersive and gripping. However, this print maybe appears to have been scanned in, ran through Google Translate and then published without so much as a quick proof read.
The speech marks are all over the place, most of them backwards, Quite often, sentences flow very well and it's very easy to drop yourself in Artyom's shoes, Other times sentences fall over themselves and you're forced to read them twice or even three times to try and understand what's going on, Also, please please understand the difference between a 'clip' and a 'magazine' when talking about modern firearms, Art is subjective that being said I am a fan of the Metro computer games, So I was curious about the material adapted from the books to the games and happy to support the author, I wouldn't of got the fun and interesting games without the books source material, The books are obviously deeper experiences, No spoilers for the final book, Like early on Metrothe first novel you find out the main characters backstory as a child, Not even mentioned once in the game, Purchased all three books during the lockdowns, Not read a book in years until the lockdowns, So thanks for getting my reading bug going again was a interesting series of books,
