introduction to the subject that it was good to revisit and I'm glad I finally read all of the appendices, mostly because the one by Mark Twain is fantastic.

A welldone introduction to Pompeii marred by illustrations that are too small, good information, lots of pictures, Having been to Pompeii before reading this book, I definitely learned more than what I had heard on my tour, though some of it was repeat information.
