Read Online Escape From The Ice: Shackleton And The Endurance Penned By Connie Roop Paperback
a Readteacher, I know this levelbook is popular, but I've never gotten around to reading it until now, I knew little about the Endurance, but I appreciated the way this book tried to both other basic facts and the little minutiae that make a story come alive.
That along with short sentences, straightforward wording, and a balance of real photos and engaging illustrations, I now understand why it's such a popular choice in the Readclassroom library, I will use it next term with my ninth graders when we study leadership styles, Plus I love the story of Shackleton and the Endurance, This is the remarkable story of the famed explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton, and his illfated attempt to cross Antarctica, Though his ship was trapped in the ice and sank, Shackleton and his crew managed to survive nearly two years of freezing weather, danger, and hunger before they returned home.
The most indepth telling for young children we've seen, Again, if it's regarding Shackleton and the Endurance, we're in, If you know of anything on the subject you can't find on my shelves, please let me know, Last year, I read the LONG version of this story and I hated it, It was too long, confusing, and verbose, THIS version of the story, however, is great, I love the graphics, and I know that the kiddos do, too, The story is about a twoyear long expedition across the Antarctic, It's a great story of perseverance, survival, and action, And it's a TRUE story, my favorite kind : I know people love this story and while it is amazing they survived it is not very uplifting when the cat and all the loyal dogs have to be killed.
Would never read again.
