are not very scary, but still interesting, I loved this book so much as a child, I have no idea how many times I checked it out of my elementary school library, The cover picture was so scary to look at that I really felt like I had something seriously creepy in my hands.
But the stories never scared me the book is for kids growing up in thes ands after all! Way before overexposure to the internet makes a kid numb! The stories are based on folklore and have enough of a ring of truth that they just might be possible.
I remembered most of the illustrations even though it had been at leastyears since I last picked it up, On a whim I looked up this book on Amazon and couldnt have been more thrilled to find it, I received a copy in good condition and will keep it that way, I read it a story or two at a time and savored the momentsI am so glad I made this purchase!
