Earn An Unsuitable Death (Lambert And Hook #13) Created By J.M. Gregson Offered In Physical Book
young woman is found dead in a chapel, Lambert and Hook are called in to investigate, Is she a victim of the serial killer, the Sacristan As they begin to investigate the girl, they find out there are several suspects,
Interesting story and wellwritten, Tamsin Rennie's body is discovered in Hereford Cathedral's Lady Chapel, At first it seems like just the next one is a series of murders perpetrated by an individual dubbed by the media The Sacristan because he leaves the bodies of his victims in churches.
But this killing is nothing like the previous ones and The Sacristan's involvement is soon ruled out leaving Lambert and Hook to investigate the killing,
As they dig deeper into Tamsin's background it becomes clear that she was leading a dangerous life and there were plenty of people who might have slept easier in their beds if she was no longer
around.
Naturally her Born Again Christian parents are suspects even though they deny having any contact with her,
I enjoyed this well written crime story, I didn't think it was quite as good as some of the books in this series but it was still a worthwhile and entertaining read, I didn't identify the murderer so it was quite a shock to me when they were finally revealed,
I recommend this book and this series to anyone who enjoyed well written crime novels with little on the page violence and bad language if you ignore the golf scenes, that is! Will Bert Hook ever make a good golfer The series can be read in any order.
Never read anything before by this author, Surprised to find this is midway in a large series, Very good book. Interesting way of looking for and finding clues, Lots of surprises. When the body of a young woman is found on the Lady Chapel altar in Hereford Cathedral, it appears that serial killer The Sacristan has set the grandest stage yet for his unholy tableaux, and the newspapers waste no time in stoking up public fear and fury.
But there are slight differences between this case and those of The Sacristan so, fearing that a copycat killer has taken up a grisly challenge, Lambert and Hook set about discovering all they can about the dead girl.
And there is much to discover, with many theories and many suspects: there is the wellknown Member of Parliament who was paying for her sexual favours the passionate young actor who had begged her to give up her destructive lifestyle to marry him and her abusive stepfather, who has recreated himself as the charismatic leader of a moneygrabbing cult.
And there is still the matter of The Sacristan,
Lambert and Hook have little time to solve one of the most puzzling cases of their career, before the media drown the police force in a wave of hysteria.
. . I didn't mind this book, It's typical of its genre, There's nothing new or spectacular in the book but it's and enjoable light read, James Michael Gregson taught for twenty seven years in schools, colleges and universities before concentrating on full time writing, He has written books on subjects as diverse as golf and Shakespeare, .
