Obtain Immediately An Appeal By The Dalai Lama To The World: Ethics Are More Important Than Religion Articulated By Dalai Lama XIV Made Available In EText

On point questions a great summary of the current state of the world and how our interconnectedness can ensure our peaceful coexistence and be a light for the future.

This is a very short book, essentially one transcript of an interview and a few press articles, concerning the Dalai Lamas thoughts following the terrorist attack against the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo in Paris in.
Sadly, that event is not discussed other than being mentioned as a source of inspiration, The Dalai Lamas views on satire would have been interesting,

The elements of the collection are somewhat repetitive, which is a shame, and much of the interview is given over to the standard questions concerning the political situation in Tibet.
This is poor editing by the journalist curating the collection,

Nevertheless, the Dalai Lamas wisdom shines through, He holds that secular ethics are more fundamental, more universal, and more natural to all humanity than religions, The worlds faiths have their purposes, but peace within each individual, between individuals, between faiths nations and races, and between humanity and the environment, can only come from secular ethics, which is the realisation that more unites us than divides.
Ethics comprise positivity, accountability, and more than anything else compassion and cooperation, none of which arise solely from religions but from the perception of common humanity that is inherent in all.
Morals are not the exclusive domain of religions, Hence ethics are more important than religions, which tend to exclude through claiming a monopoly on truth, and which are often corrupted for personal interests.

As an atheist with an international outlook I could not agree more, This is a simple but powerful rallying cry for peace and progress,

I have read this book in French, I believe it was originally produced in German, but translated into all major languages, This was my first contact with the present Dalai Lama, and I absolutely loved it,

His words are so pure and clever, and he seems like such an incredible human being, I can't wait to read more things related to him, Such an inspiration. Short book with a big impact in the world, The interview format of this book, let the reader to understand the true vision and actions of the Dalai Lama.
How he works and what he thinks as ayear old monk that held power from hisyears old untill hisyears in political power the first ever Dalai Lama to tranfer his power and become "just a monk".
He is for many an illuminated, a god, A leitura em si não é das melhores, mas ouvir o que Dalai Lama tem a dizer é sempre muito bem satisfatório, mesmo que não muito aprofundado.
for content/message.

The only thing I've have liked from this very slim book is more detail on the Dalai Lama's ideas, as I've been seeing a dire need for exactly this very thing for aboutyears now.
A lived spiritualityethic that goes beyond individual religions and their very human interpretations/interpreters,

The Dalai Lama outlines his thoughts in their essence in this book, but that's all, Certainly, he's though about them more than what is in here, He offers no examples, only a few metaphors, But, then again, Buddhism tends to the short, pregnant statement and not to long and detailed monologues, I greatly appreciated his mixture of spirituality and science and the way he's shifted the abstract notion of universal love or the Christian notion of "love thy neighbour as thyself" into something tangible and practical.

Unlike other reviewers, I wasn't bothered in the least by the repetitions of content or phrasing in the interview that makes up the middle of this book.
It's normal to have thought of a good way to phrase something and always phrase it that way, Seeing those phrases again in a conversational train of thought as opposed to an essay format was helpful, I found, and deepened my understanding of the topic.

We are blessed to be living during the same time period as The Dalai Lama, This short interview is being given away for free, It is clear that he believes in his message, More importantly, he has the evidence to back it up,

Take the time to read the book, Take the time to think about it, Take the time to live it, .
