Snag Harlem On Lock Drafted By Karen P. Williams Available As Volume
of the greatests books i have ever read, it has a lot of drama, but is still realistic, Heat wrenching and just sad, In Williamss gripping debut novel of revenge and redemption, a beautiful young girl fights to escape from a nightmare world of drugs and betrayal.
This book was so interesting, i loved it. the suspence and detail made it hard for me to put the book down, this book compairs to situations that happen in everyday life, I just finished this book a few minutes ago, It was a very easy read, Though I found the content to be really intense at times, Nonetheless, Im glad that Harlem ended up getting the life of her dreams, She's definitely been through so much throughout the year, The abuse that she experienced with Chief was terrible, He was hands down the worse character in this book, Have you ever read a book with so many conflicts that makes the story beyond wonderful,
I have this book is call Harlem on Lock, This book has so many conflicts that it is hard to keep your nose out of it, The first conflict happens when her mom dies,
The second happens when her dad molests her, Last but not least when Cheif comes and saves her but what happens to her,
The first conflict is when her mom dies.
Her mom was really sick and was the only family income, They were already poor, living in Cali, in a project home that was tore up from the floor up, Her mom dies and she don't know what to do but write in her journal,
The second conflict was when her father molest her, After her mom dies her father find that he haves problem sexually, He takes his addition out on Harlem the main character, He molests her and ties her down to the bed so other men can come and have their way with her for money so that he can feed his addiction to crack.
Last but not least there's the conflict where
Cheif comes and saves her, Cheif comes and saves her from her father, He beats him half to death, Only in the future to find out that he wasn't really her father he was her uncle, Cheif take harlem to live with him and care for her, He thinks that Harlem is his slave and if he can't have her than know one can, so he beats her to let her know that.
All in all this book hve many conflicts, her father molesting her, her mother diyng, and Cheif coming to save her, So if you want a book that keeps your attention than Harlem on Lock is the best on.
Not the ending of violence I hoped for, but it was a good read, This was an excellent read, I couldnt put this done, This was a great book ! i recommend it to anyone, i look forward to reading karen williams other books! I SO LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!! It's still hard to believe this book got bad reviews on Amazon ! Sooo much was happening in this book I felt like I needed a glass of Moscato to slow down ! it was a great book I had to rush through it though because it's due back at my local library soon I finished this book indays.
It had so many twist amp turns, I can see why it's called Harlem On Lock because Harlem was really on lock ! ll but foreal Harlem was a naive forgiving girl.
Reading this book was like going home because all the places that where mentioned in the book I been to them amp even lived in the projects gtlt this book made me happy that I am not in the projects ANYMORE !.
This book was really underrated but it sure is worth a read though, . . Everytime something happens to Harlem I would cringe because I felt that she did not deserve that ", . . But overall I was happy with the ending Survivor was a real good guy, . . From the moment I read about Chief I knew that guy was up to NO GOOD I really think the author did a good job of painting a picture for the readers I really wish their was a sequel so I can see what's in store for Harlem :D even though she wasn't a real person I found myself praying for her hoping her nightmare would be over sooner than later.
This book was scary though not surprising, I felt for Harlem my heart went out for this character, Great ending though loved it.
This Book is about a girl name Harlem and both of her parents are drug addicts, Harlem goes through alot of abuse, tragedies, unimaginable suffering and pain, . . there were times where I was saying out loud do something girl! fight back! leave! it's not worth suffering over.
This book was very brutal and heartbreaking and it infuriated it so much to see a young lady like Harlem go through so much abuse and getting mistreated by so many people including the very person who suppose to take care of her.
I truly enjoyed this book, Poor Harlem, suffered so much as a young adult, She was broken, tortured and felt abandoned, but the lies and new discoveries gave her hope, Harlem took her power back, Great ending to such a tragic story, I was initially intrigued by the coming of age of Harlem, I didn't understand her tolerance for her parents, I didn't understand the love story, I wanted to know more, It ended violently. I gave itbecause I couldn't give three and a half, I loved this book so so much !!
Harlem is such a survivor man I salute her for everything she went through and getting out of it.
Off the rip her mother and father was addicted to heroin and had her doing stuff as a teenager to get their high fix.
. . she ended up meeting chief who put her through so damn much from abuse to humiliation to illegal drug runs.
. her mother ended up dying of an overdose,
Her father" ended up raping her taking her virginity and pimping her out, And chief came through at the time it seemed good but overtime it's noted that it wasn't, Savior was her knight in shining armor amp he ended up coming back and saving her in the end.
I definitely love their relationship so much man,
It turned out that her daddy wasn't even really her daddy he was her uncle amp she did end up meeting her really daddy and he was at war with chief.
. her real daddy did end up getting killed at the end, . but her and savior ended up making it out and she did get revenge on chief which was his death.
Savior and Harlem ended up relocating to Colorado and doing good,
Karen did good as hell in this novel I have to give it to her, This book really shows you the struggles on giving up your body to help your family, After Harlerm mom dies she started hagin out with the wrong person, Her dad sold her body to strangers for money, This book is really interesting This was a pretty good book, However, if anyone reads this book after reading Candy Licker or Gspot you will be very annoyed as I was while reading it.
It's pretty much the same story line to be honest, The ending revived it for me though, The very ending and the very beginning is what kept this book from getting onlystars, I LOVEED THIS BOOKTHE FULLEST, . . BUT FEMALES WHO ALLOW THEM SELFS TO REPEATEDLY GET BEAT LIKE A DOG DESERVE IT, . SHE COULD HAVE LEFT BUT SHE DIDNT, . . SMH THIS MY BOOK THO, ITS REAL GOOD.

DanaTerase Harlem on Lock is predictable and formulaic Like, I didn't know what was going to happen to her dog Lady as soon as she got her.
It made me feel like I read it before, Which, I didn't. It was just the same story being told with different characters, A smart young girl from the projects grows up in poverty, Her parents are both addicted to drugs, The mother eventually overdoses, leaving her alone with her father, Who proceeds to rape and prostitute her, Just when things can't get any worse, she meets Chief, It's an enjoyable and quick read, Nothing too deep. Which is what makes it a good read, Good Read ! Harlem, is a very pretty young lady she smart and lovely but when you look at her parent's whos is dope head's that will do anything for money and even harlem gos in to help them pay there drug bill's so her parent"s won't be beating to death.
When harlem mother dies with a needle in her arm, Harlem don't know whats going to happen until she is betrayal by her father and a new life comes into place and there chief comes in to take over and when he do you wouldn't believe the things that happens to harlem.
This was a very good read I was mad and couldn't put this book down until the end, great little read finished it in a day could not put it down, I have to say this was the first book I read by Karen Williams and I totally will have to add her to one of my favorite authors list.
I totally got into this book from the start to finished,
Harlem isyears old living in the PJ's with her crackhead mom and dad, She had dreams to do so much with herself when it came to leaving the pj's, Harlem took what she could get when it came to clothes and food she didn't complain much since she knew how her mom and dad was but, she did the best she could even though she wanted more.
Harlem had to help feed her moms habbits at time in order to do that she had to mess around with the landlord ever now and then.
Harlem started liking this boy Savior that she kept finding herself watching at them, Savior was found of Harlem also,
After Harlem mom died of a drug overdose, Harlem then world turned upside down when her dad started having sex with her and getting paid to have other men have sex with Harlem.
Harlem then was saved from her dad by Chief at least that is what she thought, Chief was way to controlling and Harlem couldn't do anything without Chief down her neck,
