Get Dreams Of The Dark Sky (The Legacy Of The Heavens #2) By Tina LeCount Myers Readable In Version
way Tina LeCountMyers uses language is art, Her sentences are beautiful and rolling as she keeps the reader trapped in the fantacy world of the Japmemeatthun and the olmmos, I loved it! In the aftermath of a devastating clash between gods and men, two unlikely alliesone immortal and one humanmust band together to survive in the sequel to the epic fantasy debut The Song of All.
The war between men and immortals that raged across the frozen Northland of Davvieana has ended, For men, the balance of power between Believer and Brethren, between honoring the gods and honoring the sword, has shifted to favor priests over Hunters.
But it is the legacy of one mans love for his son that shapes the lives of all who survived,
While Irjan, the oncelegendary immortal hunter, has saved his sons life, he cannot save Marnej from the men who will make him a killer, nor can he save the immortal girl hed promised to protect from the secret of her birth.
Raised by Irjan among the immortals, Dárja has been trained to fight by a man who once hunted her kind, Prisoner among the humans, her hatred for them is challenged by the chance to give Irjan what he has always wantedhis son Marnej returned to him.
Together, Marnej and Dárja, human and immortal, must find a way to trust one another if they are to live long enough to learn the truth behind the secrets and lies that have forged their lives.
Beautiful story! The scenery and emotions left me breathless, and my heart would alternate between aching and pounding as I turned pages, How can I wait for the third in the trilogy I liked the first book, sitelinkThe Song of All, enough to jump on this when I saw review copies on Edelweiss.
Dreams of the Dark Sky begins where the first left offin a dark place, The Olmmos have won, Darja has been captured, and the Immortals have slunk of home, devastated and defeated, It also ends at a dark place, with no hope left for the future of the Immortals, But in between the dark places are better things, better dreams, a hope for a better future for both immortals and humans, There's grief, sorrow, and loss, yes, but there is also love, hope, and friendships gained,
Where Song is an epic devoted to one man's love for his son, Dreams follows that son as he sets out to discover the tragedy his father's love has wreaked on the world.
It's an exploration of the identities of two children, Darja and Marnej, who have fallen between the cracks of society, neither fully human nor fully Japmemeahttun.
It's also an unravelling of lies and secretsthe lies that Marnej grew up with and the secrets that Darja holds closeas they start to forge their paths in life, even if those paths break with sacred tradition.
But who can afford to hold on to tradition when the world is about to end
Dreams of the Dark Sky keeps a ponderous pace both books really are for patient readers, especially when there's definitely a third book to come.
What manages to grip you though are the intricate plots and twists that surprise the readers, set alongside the events laid bare to the reader but that catch the various players in the story unawares.
These come along at just the right time, dragging you back into the story, as you hope that things will work out in the end.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via Edelweiss, Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own, I enjoyed the first half of this but the two main characters have the emotions of a roller coaster and it really shows in the second half with constant arguing and I think it really slowed down the plot.
