enjoyed reading this book, I liked the way the characters were formed and how Felicia wasn't just a helpless girl who succumbed to whatever everyone else wanted, I loved the character of Rory as well and how he struggled with his own desires, his past and his wish for peace between the clans.
Even the smaller characters Lachlan and Jamie were interesting,
I enjoyed reading the book and would recommend it to other lovers of the genre, loved!!! so much fire and passion and Highlander lads! a fun story! loved it! BELOVED IMPOSTOR by Partrica Potter is an interesting Scottish Historical Romance set inScotland.
in the "Beloved" Trilogy. Intriguing, and interesting. While, a bit slow, in the beginning it picks up nicely, A centuryold curse, danger, treason, a dark legacy and romance, makes for an intriguing story, The Clan MacLean has been cursed by the Campbell clan for centuries, but can true love, friendship and the coming together to find a traitor, mend the clans and finally bring peace and break the dreaded curse.
An enjoyable and satisfying read, Fans of Scottish legends, Highlanders, and Historical Romance are sure to enjoy the MacLean Brothers, A new author to me, and I will be following, I can't wait read the next installment in this compelling and dangerous Trilogy,

Beloved Impostor is the first in the Beloved Trilogy by Patricia Potter.
Now I have known about this author for years, but have never really had her books on my TBR until the past month or so, So when I went to my local library, quite a few of her books were present, so I decided to try this series out, I do love a sexy highlander, especially if its set in the medieval time period, I had no clue what to expect from Patricia Potter but after reading Beloved Impostor all I have to say is AMAZING!!!! I can't believe it took me so long to read this book.
Lately I have felt like I have been in a rut of sorts, in the past month or so there have only been a few books I have been able to read get fullyinto.
So when I started reading Beloved Impostor I was hooked, line and sinker, I was amazed by how much I was enjoying this story, in fact it will be going on my top favorites, because I was impatient to get through work today so I could get back to it ASAP!!!

This story begins with seeing Felicia and her creativity and charming wit, and her rebellious nature that is contagious.
The emotions from Felicia were so vividly portrayed by the author, I couldn't help but find myself into the story from the first line, I was anxious to see how Felicia would get a happy ending, From the beginning you are enchanted by Felicia and her endearing personality that gets you practically addicted, Even though she is a very strong willed heroine, she also is fun and easy to relate with, I never felt like she was a super feisty heroine that just drives the reader crazy, Instead you, the reader, you feel as if you could be best friends, Now Rory, oh Rory, I completely fell in love when he entered the scene, He isn't your typical Alpha male, in fact at times he was a mix between Alpha and Beta at times, Which was very refreshing since especially lately I have been overdosing on Alpha males, Now don't get me wrong, I love them, but sometimes its good to have a more gentle like hero, Rory is a tortured hero, who has suffered more than most, Having been married twice, but loved his first wife deeply, and it was heartbreaking seeing his side of things, You just want to hug him from the moment you see how much he is still suffering, I almost wanted to jump into the story and make him smile, Rory is pretty mad at his men for kidnapping a innocent woman, and even though he is attracted to her, he doesn't want to pull her into his world of grief and turmoil.
He is so protective of her, before they even share their first kiss, His character is very deep enriched in the story and before long you feel as if you have known him all of your life, It has been a while since I have met such a intense and memorable character that just captivates your heart,

The story is very solid, and the plot is never ending, at first you wonder how Rory and Felicia go from strangers to lovers.
There is quite a bit of conflict involved, and not just Rory's past, Felicia has a betrothed who isn't just going to give her up, and they are both from waring clans where marriage would be impossible, The author here has done her homework of the time period, and you see how she places events in history into play just a bit, Not overly much, just enough to add some spices to enhance the story even more, I felt one of the strongest points of this story was the intense emotion that was constantly displayed, I definitely went from laughing my head off, to crying me eyes out I was so emotionally in tuned to the characters, that I couldn't stop myself.
The side characters were fun to get to know, and boy did I love both families, I can hardly wait to read more from Rory's family, boy they are such delightful men, . . I am beyond eager to get my hands on their stories!!! Should be delicious fun!! :

Overall a fully satisfying romantic romp that takes you back in time to Scotland, where clans were waring

with each other, and passion was boundless.
A story that will draw your attention completely, and impossible to put down unless its your house burning down or some earthquake, Be warned this story will knock your socks off, and in ways you never imagined, A captivating story that touches the heart and sears the soul, Masterful storytelling to enthrall the reader in such a way you won't be able to breathe until the last page!! UNFORGETTABLE!!!,/. Warring clans. Century old curse. Abduction in a case of mistaken identity, Wellwritten but needs more romance and less political intrigue, The heroine treads a fine line between spunk and impetuousness,.Fun read. Good attention to historical details, I enjoyed the idea of Rory being a sailor and Lachlan a reluctant laird, Felicia was a fun female lead, Lots of spunk. My free NetGalley copy had a lot of typos, but I suspect it was due to a rush before final printing, I picked up this series as a Black Friday special, Sometimes the soul just needs a little tilted love, I read this one right after sitelinkThe Highwayman, It fulfilled my need for a little Highland romance,

I enjoyed the addition of a curse between the McLean's and Campbell's, It was nice to have an actual reasons for the two clans to be feuding instead of just relying on "they have fought for as long as anyone can remember" line that is common.

Felicia was extraordinarily brave the time period, She fought for the right to make her own decisions throughout the entire book, She made nothing easier for any of the males in the book, It was nice to have a heroine in a historical novel not swoon at the first sight of a charmingly heartbroken hero,

My only issue is that when the story moved to Edinburgh it began to drag, The fight to get Felicia released from her betrothal was anticlimactic, It could have cut out a solid two chapters without impacting the storyline, That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed all of the characters in this story, I can't wait for my next HR itch so I can read the next one, Rory MacLean has just returned from the sea, His oldest brother Patrick leftyears ago to fight in France and his youngest brother has no interest in being the clan leader, Rory doesn't want to be clan leader either, he wants to return to the sea, so his hopes are that Patrick returns home,

Felicia Campbell finds out that her Uncle has betrothed her to a horrible man, a lechertimes her age, If she can get to her cousin Jamie, he will help her Felicia arranges to leave under the guise of her sister to be Janet Cameron.
Luckily when the days comes it is raining and she is covered in a cloak with a plaid around most of her face, When the fog covers them, she veers off from her riding party to go to her cousin Jamie,

Men from the clan MacLean intercept her and bring her home with them thinking she is Janet Cameron, They feel if Rory marries he will stay and also her family would be a good alliance,

Rory is very angry when he finds out what they have done and apologizes and assures her he will get her home but she doesn't want to go home.
She even fakes illness. Of course she and Rory are attracted to one another but try to push it out of their minds,

Her cousin Jamie comes home to find out what she did and goes looking for her, When he approaches the MacLeans, he is taken hostage, The Campbells and the MacLeans have been enemies for a hundred years so he is literally taking his life in his hands,

It finally comes out who she really is and after Rory recovers from the feelings of anger and betrayal he still wants to get her out of the marriage she has been committed to.
They both have feelings for one another but will not deal with it, Besides there could never be a marriage between a Campbell and a MacLean!

Rory, Jaime and Lachlan Rory's younger brother work on a plan to relieve her from the betrothal.
Can they do it safely, can they keep her out of it, . .

I did enjoy this story, There is nothing like a hot man in a kilt and a feisty female! The MacLean clan were so beaten down that you really wanted them to get a good Laird and be a successful clan again.

I would recommend this book if you are a true highland lover, .
