This is so good! And I just know it's going to get better!

Celene is amazing, she's a go getter and by that I mean she NEEDS revenge and will do anything to achieve it.
Who wouldn't if you were in her shoes!
This author is killing me, I have a whole list of theories I want to list, but if I do I'm basically going to SPOIL the whole darn book.
So what to say without giving anything away
Well, this book is amazing, I amenthralled with this new series, Celene/Shay is out for blood, Her whole family was murdered and she's tracking down all she feels are responsible, Along the way, she ends up in very close proximity to her targets, One wants to kill her, one wants to torture and/or have sex with her maybe at the same time, who knows, one seems to be falling hard already, one seems to know something that helped her, but also may know something she'd rather him not know.
. . okay, that's vague. Yep, sorry, not sorry. Best I can do.  
But yeah, I am counting down the days to Mayst, This series, like all of Wondrak's other series, have just the right amount of everything that matters, She's a one click author for me so much so that I've literally read every SINGLE one of her books.
 
Give it a shot if you like dark romance, It's not as dark as some, but we don't call Wondrak the Psycho Queen for nothin', Her characters are literally always up to no good, They get crazier as series progress sometimes, Those are always my favorites,
Definitely recommend it. Read it. You're missing out if you don't,   Oh, but if you need to know there's a trigger warning for some, There's a dubcon scene, a bit of torture, and a whole lot of sexy thrown in with the general murder and mayhem.
So good. Actually I'd be cool if it were a whole lot darker too,

THEORIES.

Nixon knows she is Shay, He knows the guy who saved her and gave him/them the info so she could be saved OR he knows who did.
He lost his family too and that will give them a connection,   He ends up being in her RH, He has been keeping tabs on her and will continue to do so,  
Her harem consists of twins, Slade, Nix, Misha, But wouldn't it be awesome if Atticus was part of her harem too, Haha, yes! IT WOULD BE, Don't hate.
I may post the rest of my theories in the author's FB group spoiler chat tomorrow,   OMG I love this book! It was amazing and has left me with so many questions unanswered! Im so intrigued by this story line and where its going!

I loved Shay/ Celene and I feel like we have more to see of her and havent quite seen her full potential! And trust me when I tell you Im excited to see her in action I think it will be magnificent!

We definitely have a lot more to see from the other characters and Im definitely looking forward to what we will learn about them all and who will be in harem!

Ive read books by this author under there other pen name Candace Wondrak and have loved their work! This is the first time Ive read under this pen name and I seriously enjoyed it and will definitely be looking into other books published under this pen name!

Bookwas a decent enough read, but I have my complaints.


Pro: liked the characters, plot was pretty decent, world building was good enough,

Cons:
She ends up dating their dad AND them at the same time, Thats just gross.
Betcha money the author is from Alabama, The whole family gets involved later on,
Why did the guys like her so much Okay so she caught their attention One guy practically falls in love with her overnight.
. like okay

Did NOT like the tied up, torture, dungeon thing, No. Thats gross. She slept with a guy who killed his parents while his mom was pregnant, Like. . Im all for killing bad guys or women but babies And then he all but r her, That was too far. Also the plot dragged on and on, She ended up moving in with the treats and nothing ever happens, Boring. This is gonna be good

This is the start of a new series and follows shay as she is on an epic quest or revenge.
I can already tell that this series is going to be good, We were introduced to alot of players from different families in this book and I can forsee that there will be plenty of twists and turns and I can't wait.


I really enjoy when you sent quite sure of who all may or may not be with the FMC it keeps you guessing.
I'm excited to see what more we find out in bookInteresting start to a new series

When you pick up one of Candace's books, you always know you can expect a wellwritten and edited story.


Cold Blooded was a relatively quick read, and intrigued me from the start, If you've read any of the author's other books, you know to expect a FMC that's not afraid of a little blood, and Celene is no different.
She's on a mission for revenge, but I have the feeling things aren't what they appear, . . and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next, This was A Very Interesting read about A network of mafia men that our made up of family's called the black hand they are five in all Celene use to be one of them before a fire took them all out now she is the only one left and wants revenge for what about to her family which she thinks was not an accident but murder, she is trying to take down them down one family at a time starting with the twins but I don't think she was expecting to fall for one of them which I believe she was stating to do in the end but now someone in the circle knows who she really is and why she has come back can she pull off the revenge scheme or will someone stop

her, or will the twins be the death of her with all of there fighting over her.
Just when I thought the slump was over, Well, looks like I'm taking a break from the killer reverse harem trend, Nothing really anything unique and the MC isn't subtle, so the ending wasn't really a surprise, I'm curious about Nix, felt sorry for Dex and didn't like Jett, Short but not a series I'll be continuing, Amazing read. Love this start to the series,
Celene has lost all, including her name, But she is not one to be tied down for long, she will get her revenge in anyway shs can and will burn all those who get in her way.
I live the suspense that lingers throughout this book,
Brilliant read cant wait to get my hands on the next,actually
Interesting, i got intrigued in the story and how it will all play out.

Celene aka Shay the heroin was more calculating and calm , i expect her to show more of her kick ass abilities in the next book.

the guys where okay, i like that they are so different from each other, I do wonder who else will join the harem, than the twins and the father i assume suspenseful and entertaining

I wasnt quite sure what I was getting into when I chose this book on Kindle.
I have never read a book by this author, but the blurb really grabbed my attention, This book has kept me entertained and wanting to not put it down, I had been in a reading rut and this book pulled me out of it! I cant wait to read the next book and figure out how Shay goes about her revenge.
I dont know about this book, Its like the author tried to make it gloomy and dark and mysterious and sophisticated and profound but honestly it didnt measure up.


Certain paragraphs or certain dialogues had me rolling my eyes, This world the characters live in is supposed to be about power and terror and dictatorship but really, I didnt see this so called powerfulness.


Heck Shay/Celene herself was all talk, Ah Im going to kill everyone, Im much more stronger than all the males and females here, They dont know my abilities, And then next thing we know shes kidnapped and tortured l o l, But dw, our FMC showed her power after the whole ordeal alrigh, By stabbing her kidnapper. BY THY POWA.

Also the houses, So were supposed to have five allpowerful houses of great strength but, Two of these so called houses have only one member, The other house is just a regular family type, I mean arent there supposed to be levels upon levels upon levels Isnt that how this trope works All I saw was though.
That was it Black hand Ten people not including Slades family who wasnt mentioned Where are the guards The lackeys The attendants The loyalists I dunno none of what Ive just mentioned was in the book so yeah the whole five families rule the city bs doesnt really look legit.


As for the plot, Nothing honestly happened that was worthwhile Celene apparently spent years planning out her revenge but this plan of hers mostly consisted of go with the flow.
Oh and pay some totally random dude to damage the car of the towns biggest SOBs sons, Honestly when Slade and Misha came to pick her up at the house I thought ah ofc they traced the vandalism back to her cause of their all powerfulness but no.
Not the case. Um. Ok.

Yeah so. Not my cup of tea, I dislike books where the heroine is all I want revenge and I will not be swayed by some pretty faces and bodies one minute and then the next minute ooooh cck.
While in this book she isnt that emotionally invested yet, we all know that is exactly where this is going.
I mean its already happening, In the first freakingpages, Dex is tearing down the walls around my heart, And then pretty soon bye bye vengeance,

I guess some readers like this trope and thats why its so popular with authors, I was also looking forward to this cause of Celenes slight psychopathic tendencies, It wouldve been nice to read about it really, if the book was written well, But in my opinion Cold Blooded wasnt up to par with my expectations, Which is why sadly I will not be continuing with the series, Good readings to all who continues though, I'm not really sure how to rate this book, I've read this author before and the way they write is very different than other authors, You have to start from the beginning in order to understand each book because it's a continuation of the story.
This first book starts off laying the groundwork, It is a RH book, however, so far, there is only one love interest, In this author's previous writing, their RH is created over multiple books, It keeps you on your toes trying to figure out who the heroine is going to end up with in the end.
This can get infuriating at times though because I do want some kind of real romance going on in my books.


Spice level: Okay this baby is getting good and I am so hooked, The fact that Celene/Shay basically has these twins wrapped around her finger I love it, The only problem our girl is catching feeling no matter how hard she tries not too! I have a feeling we having barely scraped the surface and ish is about to get a lot more complicated in book!!! Well Im diving into that one now! sitelink sitelink sitelink Currently it.

As a huge RH fan I am so glad I found this series,

The FMC is one of the best RH BA ladies I've come across, She is believable in her thoughts and actions,
The plot build up has been strong without being too slow keeping it very interesting, How does she continue to write such amazing stories

I am always on the edge of my seat reading books by Candace.
I always end up binge reading her series, I have to wait until they're complete because waiting between books kills me because of her cliffhangers, Believe me, I'm still waiting for some I foolishly started before they were complete! That being said, I need to go to book two because I just have to know.
