lang ang nagustuhan ko rito, Sakto lang. Pampalipas oras.

some stories are kinda problematic pero ganon naman talaga totoong buhay diba overall, an eyeopener read! Definitely beyond smut.
Villanueva had a profound understanding of love and relationships,.

Its probably good for me to stop reading plays, I find the lines outdated and cheesy thinking is this how people speak then If so, Im the one who has a problem.
I really had high hopes for this one, Through their dialogs, makikita mo talaga 'yung power dynamics ng mga characters at ang mga nagcaclash nilang personal values,

Six plays about people in different relationships with sex as focal point, Three or four of them have homosexual MM characters, My book club is currently reading sitelinkPersonal: Mga Sanaysay sa Lupalop ng Gunitastars, the only memoir that was written by Villanueva.
So, I thought of reading another work this is my fourth actually by him especially this book that has sex as its theme.
The reason There are some interesting bits and pieces of anecdotes in the memoir that one can interpret as a prelude to homosexuality and those happened when he was a boy or a teenager.
I thought that this book will give me the answers as to his personal views on sex as this book got published inwhen he was alreadyyears old.

My favorite play is the first one, Walang Iwanan a love story between ay/o married woman and ay/o soontobemarried young man clerk.
It is short and undramatic but the twist in the end reminded me Celie in sitelinkThe Color Purplestars, It really surprised me and convinced me that Villanueva's stronger compared to children's forte is really on plays, The second play, Dobol is too melodramatic and tragic

for my taste, However, I thought it would be a exhilarating experience to watch the main character switching from man to gay to man to gay dialogues.
The high point of this dialogue however is the breakup scene between the gay and young man, The dialogue is honest and poignant that almost made me doubt that they were both men, A mustread for gay love believers,

The third play, The Bomb! could be explosive to watch what with hunks appearing in skimpy attires, However, it is painful to read because of the scenes inserted as sort of afterthoughts, The fourth play, Karamay, Dinamay feels like an ordinary story of couples changing partners, Not really fresh in its approach, Not really shocking as that of the previous one,

The fifth play, Ang Pambabading ay Gawaing Maselan Victimizing Gays is a Delicate Job is my second favorite.
This play talks about young men who peddle their bodies for sex with gay patrons, They all live in a district in Manila called Sta, Mesa that I heard even before as where many callboys live, One time, I also heard a caller in Mr, Fu's morning radio show about a young callboy from the area, Maybe it's true, maybe not, The last play, Stella is about a liberated woman who prefers sex without commitment, It is just too ordinary for me,

When I finally closed this book last night, I felt some kind of relief that I was not one of the characters.
Their lives are all sad and tragic, I have a healthy sex life shared with no other than my wife and I am truly grateful to have her in my life.
I wish the characters in this book find their one true love so they don't need to find happiness and comfort elsewhere.
