was expecting this book for a while now, The content is worthstars, However the Kindle formatting is trash, It looks like nobody even bothered to check that it would be displayed correctly! The pages are set in a static manner, so as you'd see them in the paper version of the book.
I'm assuming, though, that some all important empty pages have been removed, the result being that photos are never next to the corresponding recipe, Moreover, the background graphics are completely skewed, to the point that what should be a clear table or diagram becomes almost impossible to read, I'm hoping these errors will be fixed soon, especially considering the relatively high price of the Kindle version, In the meantime, avoid my mistake and buy the actual book! I was sooo excited for this cookbook to come out because the Obesity Code changed my life and Dr.
Fungs information makes SO much sense, The recipe ideas are great, Things I havent thought of before, lots of salad recipes which is honestly key, But two huge down sides, lack of pictures, which makes it hard to know what the dish is supposed to look like and poor instructions.
We made the Moroccan Chicken and followed the instructions to the letter, We ended up with sour cream flavored

mush and raw chicken, Just basic logic like boiling chicken in sour cream forminutes makes no sense, Why not put dairy into the dish after the chicken is cooked and you make a sauceWe are trying the recipes as we go along, but I feel like they didnt give the book to someone who knows nothing of the recipes to try to work out the kinks first.
I am absolutely convinced that Dr Fung has solved the mystery of the obesity epidemic, I am at last losing weight and its easy! I highly recommend this cookbook for anyone who wants to control their weight, not just for the recipes, which are all appealing, but for the I used my credit card points and aoff coupon to order the new Dr Fung The Obesity Code Cookbook: Recipes to Help You Manage Your Insulin, Lose Weight, and Improve Your Health, for Tim to give me for Christmas.
Lil man: Why are you reading your Christmas giftMe: So I can write a review on it, and people might know if they want to buy it for a gift for their Christmas.
Lil man: That's not how Christmas works, Normally I would never be the first to order a cookbook, as I wait for reviews to come in and decide from there, If I saw this in the store, I would probably leave it there, Why I'm extremely picky about my cookbooks, I like each recipe to have a picture, I'm a very visual person, and a lot of the recipes I wouldn't consider as there's no picture to talk me into making it, I also don't like really complicated, hard to find or expensive ingredients, I'm also mindful of the recipe calling for/a red cabbage What do I do with the other half Since it is backed by Dr Fung, I am trying to give it the benefit of the doubt.
So. This book is hardcover, which is nice, The paper is matte. There are many recipes without pictures, The pictures that are there are nice, There are many special ingredients I would have to track down, I normally shop at Aldi or Ruler Foods, and sometimes make a special trip to Walmart, Target, Trader Joe's or there's always, But, I'm lazy. If it's too difficult to track down, or there's too many or that recipe will cost too much I'm not doing it, Especially if there's no picture to convince me otherwise And I'm too lazy to Google preserved lemon, If you normally stock lemongrass stalks, Thai red chili, French garlic sausage, birds eye chili, tamari, cardamom pods and fresh figs then this is the cookbook for you.
I did go through each recipe and picked out the ones I would definitely try, The book just came today so I haven't tried any, yet, I foundI'm highly interested in, I didn't count how many total recipes are in the book But ifof these become a regular favorite I'll be satisfied, After all, they look/sound like really healthy meals, Pageis Chicken Breasts Poached in Rosé, I'm not gonna lie That sounds really yummy But if I open a bottle of wine forcup The rest is going in my belly.
Drinking wine isn't conducive to weight loss for me, I usually end up snacking my way through the kitchen and then drunk popping pop corn, I'm afraid one of these times I'm going to set my boobs on fire, So maybe that one shouldn't be MY regular, Or maybe I could find Rosé or Zinfandel in small bottles, There are some that seem obvious and are probably on Pinterest Like omelets, coconut pancakes, chia seeds parfait, shakshuka, kale chips, mediterannean one pan chicken and vegetables and oven roasted chickpeas.
I don't mind having them in one place to find, I do hope that Dr Fungs would taste better, There's also the ones that are really drawing me in Like fried eggs with spicy spinach and quinoa, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and dill, poached eggs on spinach with prosciutto, chopped chicken and avocado with gruyere salad, piperade, chicken with sesame seed crust, poached salmon with lime dill mayo, delicious meatloaf with gruyere, seedy crackers and turmeric latte.
One of the recipes includes his Pique tea line, There's a lot of fresh herbs and spices used, I honestly don't know where to find them in my Aldi, I'm assuming they're there. I could experiment with dried, I do have to substitute any cilantro in every cookbook, though, Yep. I am THAT special. Bottom line is that I will give myrecipes a go, Maybe they'll intrigue me enough to try some, Dawn Right away I tried the chia seed parfait using the frozen fruit I had in the freezer cherries, blueberries, mango I enjoyed it and it was nice to eat something that was only sweetened by the natural fruit.
I have lostkg in six months and need to buy clothes that fit, Dislikes: None Likes: Great book and recipes, The solution to obesity in this book is all you need, No need to buy his Obesity Code Book that has too many details, "The The companion cookbook to the international bestseller The Obesity Codeby Dr Jason FungDr Jason Fung has inspired thousands of people around the world to transform their diets, reverse and prevent type diabetes, and lose weight with his with his groundbreaking, bestselling booksThe Obesity CodeandThe Diabetes CodeNow, The Obesity Code Cookbook makes it even easier to follow Dr Fungs renowned weight loss advice Mouth watering dishes showcase healthy fats, nutrient dense foods, and low or no carbs, while an array of broths and beverages aid intermittent fastingThe Obesity Code Cookbook also includes summary highlights from The Obesity Code and added tips on how to stock your pantry Dr Fungs intermittent fasting FAQ and suggested meal plans and schedules for hour, hour, and hour fasts ensure you know what to eat, and when to eat itThe Obesity Code Cookbook is an indispensable tool for home cooks looking to lower insulin, lose weight, manage diabetes, or simply lead a healthy, longer life I just received "The Obesity Code Cookbook" Hard copy in the mail yesterday and was disappointed.
I haven't made anything as of yet, just took a quick look through it, The recipes look good but very limited on pictures and No Nutritional values for the food you are going to Arrived earlier than expected, The book was highly recommended and the price was reasonable Backstory:When I was diagnosed Typediabetes about a year and a half ago, I was a bit shell shocked, if maybe not surprised.
My lifestyle and genetics mainly my lifestyle, or lack thereof made it almost an unavoidable given, I went from working overhours a week on my feet to being a/caregiver to my elderly parents, The sedentary lifestyle and terrible food choices put me on the fast track to diabetes, so, yeah, I guess I wasn't surprised, After that almost predictable diagnosis, I did what many do, . Google. And even looked on Youtube, It was on Youtube that I found what I call my saving grace, Dr. Jason Fung. He was the first Youtube video that resonated with me, It finally made sense, and a "lightbulb" moment happened, I didn't need the seeming unavoidable sentence of a lifetime prescription of med's, . I just needed to drastically change what I ate, I was a bit hesitant to try Intermittent Fasting that Jason talked about, but I thought, why not I immediately lost a lot of weight and noticed changes in my overall health for the better.
I had energy and felt like 'my old self' again, not a tired worn out old lady, Shoot, I was only in my late's, yet until 'discovering' Jason Fung, I had felt as old as my parents, who were in their's.
I also tried to figure out an eating plan like Dr, Fung alluded to, and that led me to basically begin following low carb/low sugar eating habits, I don't like to use the word 'keto,' but rather low carb/low sugar, Sugar is truly the enemy, and carbs run close behind sugar for sabotaging health, imho, So, I had since always been wanting/wishing for/hoping with all my heart that the 'master' himself finally put out a cookbook, and here it is, and I am not disappointed.
I always thought, what does Dr, Fung eat. . Well, these recipes may or may not be what he eats on the daily, but they are apparently Fung approved, And they all look like what I imagined Dr, Fung eating, wholesome REAL food, nothing fancy, no exotic nor expensive ingredients, just REAL FOOD recipes, Easy to understand, easy to make, Yes, I already know by perusing this cookbook, there are the types of recipes that my bloodwork thanks me for, and I want to thank Jason Fung and the publisher for.
Finally, the 'master' has spoken, . and this is my 'bible, . Thank you, Dr. Fung. You have helped me avoid a very ugly path of unhealthiness, I am so grateful. This is all I need, Yes, I have some 'keto' and low carb/low sugar cookbooks, but this is one 'healthy' cookbook that will always be on my top shelf, easy to access.
This one will never end up in the donation bin, Thank you again, Dr. Fung, and I will always look forward to your next book! Overall have benefited from this Wish there was a digital version I am an old school cook and like books that I have all the ingredients for in my kitchen.
This cookbook was not one I'll use, some of his books are a fascination for readers like in the The Obesity Code Cookbook: Recipes to Help You Manage Insulin, Lose Weight, and Improve Your Health book, this is one of the most wanted Jason Fung author readers around the world.
