Secure A Copy Capture (Torsere, #1) Imagined By Annabelle Jacobs Made Available In Text
definitely interested in the next in the series, I really wanted to get that book in my hands, BUT When I started to read it I saw really quickly how boring that story plot was, I am really disappointed with that story plot, I was expecting something more but I guess writer Annabelle Jacobs doesn't have a lot of imagination,
BORING, BORING, BORING, This review can be found at sitelinkThe Blogger Girls review site,

As the King of Torsere, Ryneq can have anyone he wanted but not for more than a night or two.
He has responsibilities towards his people and no where in that includes having a lover, even if he does harbor some intense feelings for a certain dragon rider because nothing could ever come of it.
Nykin is one of the Kings elite dragon riders that has a special bond with the dragon, Fimor, but his desire to have Ryneq is almost as strong.
When the time comes for Ryneq to escort his sister safely to the city of Alel, hes expecting an ambush but with his dragons, he hopes he can still get his sister to her betrothed.
Unfortunately, things dont go as planned when his enemies end up injuring and kidnapping Ryneq during the ambush, Desperate to rescue his King, Nykin volunteers to breach the fortress Ryneqs being held at
even if it means sacrifice himself to save the man hes starting to love.
I LOVED this book, It hit more than just a few of my buttons, Its a fantasy, theres dragons, theres royalty, theres kidnapping, theres not a lot of sex sorry, guys! and most of all, theres sexual tension enough for me at least :P.
The world pulled me in from the beginning and I loved being able to explore the dragons and their bonds with their riders.
I also loved that the world had human enemies and elven allies because it made for some interesting discoveries all around,
The characters are a real treat, though, Nykin is the young brash dragon rider, whos quick to offer his help without really thinking about how itll affect others like his dragon.
Ryneq is calmer, more serious but hes drawn to Nykin and his constant blushing, Its adorable, to be honest, One thing that I loved was Ryneqs jealousy when a few elves were flirting with Nykin, While Nykin and Ryneq werent lovers, the attraction between them is obvious to everyone except each other so Ryneqs reactions to others attentions on Nykin were amusing to say the least.
When they finally get together, it was worth the wait, I just wished we were able to see more of them getting to know each other passed what was on the surface, so to speak.
While I loved this story, I did feel like at the end, we missed out on a few more scenes and instead were just told about them.
For example, when Nykin woke up and Ryneq tells him how much hes had to do at the castle, the discussion about appointing Nykin Kings Consort, etc.
I would have liked to see some of that happening,
In the end, I really enjoyed this story, Its intense at times and has some good tension between Nykin and Ryneq, especially with Ryneqs jealousy, I also loved that it had some good suspense and action not to mention the world was very intriguing, I cant wait to read the sequel, sitelinkUnion, because Im really looking forward to exploring more of the bond between Ryneq and Nykin.
OMG, this is great. "Capture" is a m/m fantasy novel with magic, dragons and elves, While the story starts off slowly, the tension builds as the plot carefully unfolds, With plenty of action, suspense, intrigue, and of course romance, that kept me riveted to the pages, I normally reador more books at a time, but I couldn't stop reading this one! In this the romance develops between a king and a dragon rider in his army.
No mention of love yet, but this is the first book in the trilogy, Great characters, with Fimor the dragon being a particular favorite,
After finishing this author's Regent's Park Pack series, I looked to see what other books she had written.
Finding a fantasy trilogy was a pleasant surprise fantasy being one of my favorite genres,
It had one of my favorite tropes "I'd suffer and die for you, "
One of the MCs does come very close to dying,
With plenty of
and a very good ending
I look forward to reading the second book to see what happens next.
I'm really surprised this book/trilogy isn't more popular than it is, For a debut book, it's better than a lot of what's out there, Glad I at least found it, It could use a better book cover though,
Edited to add: The trilogy turned out to be a big disappointment, Bookwas mostly filler and unnecessary, Bookwas all about the war between Ryneq King of Torsere amp Seran King of Rodeth, It'sfantasy andromance no good sex scenes in any of the books, It's all very dark and grim, Lots of killing and bloodshed, Much more gruesome than booksamp, I ended up skimming most of it, The war wasn't interesting enough to read wordforword, and I didn't like how the witch tortured amp killed good characters at the end.
I don't recommend. : Updated to add review
This was a fun, fantasy romance with, . . DRAGONS so yeah, I had to read it : There was a lot of potential here I loved the concept for the world and the dragon riders and I liked all the characters BUT, as is often the downfall with fantasy for me, I wanted MORE.
More relationship development, more of the secondary characters, more worldbuilding, and most definitely I wanted a lot more info on the dragon riders, the dragons and their connection.
. .
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the story, we kind of had a brief intro to everything, then a large portion of the story is focused on the main characters and the evil villains through a capture and subsequent rescue attempt amp escape so we don't get any more worldbuilding and hardly any more info on the secondary characters that I wanted to know more about.
Despite having a large focus on the MCs during the capture/rescue/escape, I felt their interaction was limited and I didn't really feel the depth of connection I think we were supposed to by the end of it.
Something I noticed throughout was that although this should have been exciting with the dragon riders, torture, a dramatic rescue and battle scenes everything seemed to lack the tension I would expect.
I'm not quite sure how to explain it, but it felt like everything just flowed too smoothly and despite the things that were happening, I didn't feel any real dread or angst over the issues.
Some niggles that I noted down in my kindle during the read that I thought were worth mentioning:
Strange discussion Quite early on, before the capture happens, Ryneq and his sister are talking and they speak as if they know its going to happen I know that we as readers know it's going to happen, as it's in the blurb, but the characters shouldn't have any idea! Ryneq is really adamant about what happens if he should be captured, but really it shouldn't have been his first thought why would he be captured and not killed why would they aim for him and not his sister
Careless with sensitive info Throughout the rescue/escape part, Nykin has to play a part and nobody is supposed to know who he really is, but throughout Nykin amp Ryneq are really careless about what they discuss and I was just waiting for someone to discover what was going on!
Abrupt shift in relationship status towards the end, once all the action is over, Ryneq and Nykin's relationship seems to move incredibly swiftly from lust to a lot more without any real relationship building.
Ryneq's announcement of was really pretty abrupt as they really don't know each other and haven't spent any real time interacting, It felt like things were being wrapped up a bit too easily with the rush into an "official" relationship without any feeling of connection.
I would have preferred for the development to have occurred into Book,
This also leads me to the Epilogue the sex scene here was pretty hot, BUT I found myself almost skimming this I think because of the above points, I just felt like this was tacked on at the end to neatly wrap everything up in this book.
Overall though, I love the world that has been created and I would really like to learn more about the dragon riders and their bond with the dragons.
Bookwraps up the story so far with a firm HFN/implied HEA with no cliffhanger, although there are definitely open ended elements to the story to be carried forward into the next in the series.
I'm not certain if I will continue the series though,
