is my last one of these they're just not for meunderdeveloped characters, underdeveloped romance, but I so wanted to like them! A wonderful story, encouraging faith, hope and love.
While this story did not set as fast a pace of reading as the first two books in this series did, I did enjoy it and the characters.
Book, brought back characters from the previous books and introduces you to the main male character for Book,
In truth, I found the last part of the book to be my favorite part and meaningful as well, This has been a wonderful series and I look forward to starting Booksoon, My favorite of the series, The writing in this series is better than most of the religious fiction I read, Author Carol Umberger combines her love of history, romance, and God in a quartet of powerful stories set inthcentury Scotland during the reign of Robert the Bruce, Scotland's great hero king.
Update I'm not sure what I ever saw in this book to begin with, Umberger takes way too long to build the romance between the two main characters, or even spend more than a few pages of the narrative on the female protagonist.
I never got into this book, It does not survive the second round of the purge from my personal collection,

Quick, easy read, It's not deep and there are plenty of anachronisms, Not every book can be thoughtprovoking, It's good for a feelgood read but not much else, Once more, Ms. Unberger has written a great story of Scotland during Robert the Bruce's reigh, This time, she writes of Ceallach, a former Knight Templar who has become dissolusioned with god after the murder of his fellow knights by King Phillip of France.
He becomes the guardian of an English widow whose husband has died in the war between scotland and England, and when she is returned to her realtives, he realizes he cares for her, but cannot resolve it because of his lack of faith at this time and his vows.
How he overcomes this, returns to faith in God, goes through fire to save his love in spite of his fear of fire is a great read.
recommended. I have reviewed the prequels to this book and the same comments apply: Clean, Good Characters, Nice Story Line, Decent overall book but lacks being an Amazing story.
I kinda liked this one the most so far since it was better for sexual mentions and content but I don't really know that it is a favorite book ever.
Third book in the series that I've read and I loved this one as much as the first two, The characters are well developed and the plot keeps you turning the pages, Good book like the rest of them, Going on to get theth one, . This is probably the best in the series, because it deals a lot with overcoming fears and looking for a better future, This story was really sweet, I love the relationship that deveolped between Ceallach and Orelia, I like that this book took a differnt route than the first two books, I expected that it would be another marriage of necessity type of story but it wasn't, I thought that the situations that were played out in the story were well executed, I just loved how they relied on each other as they became best friends, Wowza, this book is so epic in a subtle, not in your face kind of way, The first half is gently paced but still very interesting amp during the second half I could not put it down! The love story is SO sweet it is slow burn in terms of timeline but NOT lacking in romance.


Ceallach, the hero of this story, was a Templar knight that was unjustly captured amptortured by the English, As a result he has physical amp emotional scars amp is a quiet amp lonesome individual, Every chapter had information about Templar knight rules I found so fascinating! I did not realize how monklike their lifestyle was, After a battle, Orelia, an English lady, is widowed amp now under the care of the Scottish warrior Ceallach, They begin an unlikely friendship, In love stories its all about the yearning for me Ceallach who has spent years living without the companionship of women yearns for her immensely but knows she must go back to her English estate to restore inheritance to her family line.
Orelia has troubles of her own with an evil sisterinlaw who will do anything to get rid of her amp her offspring including murder, Dun dun dun!!!

Anyways, just read the book it has romance, yearning, love letter writing, murder, amp action galore, It has a reunion scene at the end worth every page, Every book in this

series is wonderful amp this third one, though more slow burn, is no exception, Great read! I thought this book as well asandin the series would be hard to read, but I have enjoyed each one, Thank you, Carol, for sharing your gift and your stories with us, This was a touching book that was a heartwarming, emotional story showing a widow overcoming her grief and a man who needed to accept his past in order to move forward with his future.
The characters were personable, but with flaws that didn't make them seem too perfect, The story line was believable and the Scottish time period of the late medieval era is intriguing, I would have liked a little more of the Scottish brogue in the dialogue, but it is a great read and a novel I would highly recommend.
Ceallach Orelia

Historical fiction romance supremely done! We learn about the Templar Knights during the time of Robert the Bruce, King of Scots.
A beautiful love story unfolds as Ceallach and Orelia learn to love each other and trust their God, This was my favorite book in the series! We saw the main character a bit in the second book and I liked that they carried him through as a main character.
Celalach seemed to have the most depth to his story, his conflict of faith is believable all the way through and his redemption is beautiful! I loved that it wasnt just a basic lob story but rather a love story between man and God with a classic love story added in.

I enjoyed this tale, Ceallach is a man wrestling with God, like Jacob of the Bible, His past haunts him The ebook version I read had a few problems that distracted from the story, And I continue to have a problem with "Christian" books whose message is apparently that God will give you everything you want if you love him.
However, the characters were likable and the story pretty good overall, I'd give it.if I could. English lady Ophelia plus Scottish Templar Knight Ceallach plus more Scottish history regarding Robert the Bruce,
