DESIRES PASSIONATE ALLIANCES

A prominent socialite had been murdered, And all the evidence pointed to District Attorney Jesse Hadley and Chief Medical Examiner Angela Byerly but they were both innocent, Now they had to work together to catch the real killer and find out why they were being framed,

Jesse and Angela were total opposites, total stranger bound by deadly circumstances and undeniable desires, But was their passion a result of their situation, . . or something much deeper And could they discover their true feelings before the killer struck again I cannot thank two of my GR friends enough for recommending this book to me because I really loved it a lot, this and the sister's story as well.

Jesse is the District Attorney and a Hadley, the surname means a lot, so he is shocked when one day a woman walks into his office, he doesn't know her but he definitely likes her legs and the flashy colours she is wearing.
The woman is the Chief Medical Examiner Angela, She accuses him of releasing a body she had not cleared, Jesse then discovers his signature was forged and decides to investigate quietly,

Angela doesn't like Jesse, the reason she thinks she knows his sort, wealthy and thinking they own the world, .

I honestly loved the book so much, the mystery was great, somebody seems to be trying to frame Jesse and Angela, Angela doesn't want to work with Jesse, she doesn't trust people easily but Jesse is great, I thought he would be all snobby but he really was totally awesome,

I loved the poignancy in their relationship, even when these two had not faced the feelings they had for each other, you could feel them under the surface, in their interactions with each other, or just seeing the jealousy Jesse feels seeing how comfortable Angela is with his brotherinlaw.

The scene when Angela is frantic and can't reach Jesse and when he comes over and she confesses what happened to her, was so touching.

This is one of the best categories I have read, COMPROMISING POSITIONS is the followup to THE MARRYING KIND, First introduced in TMK, Jesse Hadley is the the brother of Tessa and the Philadelphia District Attorney, A longtime bachelor, his job is his life,

Dr. Angela Byerly was Gunner's close childhood friend, Well, as close as she would let you be, She has both a medical and law degree and is now the Chief Medical Examiner for the City of Brotherly Love,

Angela and Jesse met when they came headtohead after an unauthorized release of a body from Angela's office, And talk about opposites, Jesse was ubercool he was a conservative in a Democraticallycharged job, He hated when people made mistakes including if he was responsible, Angela took her frustration out in clothes, The more stressed she was, the wilder her appearance would be, And she was known for slipping food in her purse at gettogethers when the situation warranted, Jesse came from old money he was expected to be mayor one day, Angela had depended on scholarships and odd jobs to get her where she is,

Jesse had never met anyone like her before she took him offguard, Before long, he was pursuing her using the excuse it was because of their jobs, But it was a whole lot more than that, Someone out there was trying to set them up, And before long there was a murder and then their jobs and lives were on the line,

Ms. Byrd did a nice job with writing this suspenseful romance, It is not necessary but it would help to read THE MARRYING KIND

first, Several important characters were introduced there, You also get somewhat of a headsup on Angela and what makes her tick, And though Jesse had a dominant personality as seen in TMK, he had a sensitive side, too, The more he learned about Angela the more he became a changed man,
