I'm not a fan of sports books, but the creative collagestyle pictures of dogs playing baseball will appeal to dog lovers young and old.
I personally do not like this style of illustration, This story is fine. Cute story. I mean, who knows for real what dogs are dreaming about We hear them wimpering, and kicking/running, A fun idea of what they could be dreaming about, I LOVE the illustrations, and I think students would love the "photograph" style, Cute if your kids like baseball ad puppies, Doggone adorable! This is not William Wegman, but kids will love it, I may even have to get a copy for Gaylynn, Even though she's retired this is a fun pairing of her favorites, dogs and baseball, Photos and Digital Illustrations

Prose text T loved the lifelike dog pictures, Normally I don't like sports books at all but this one was very unique, any kid that is excited about baseball and dogs will love it.

concept that was just unfortunately not well executed, The pictures of the dogs just look awkward and strange, This is just not a great book, I think kids will enjoy it for the dogs and the baseball, but certainly not for the story or the illustrations, Entertaining illustrations of the dogs, reminiscent of early "It's the Crew" by sitelinkMarcus D'Ambrose, But beyond that, the book falls flat, The characters aren't fleshed out, merely cardboard cutouts like those in a Sookie Stackhouse novel, And the baseball game is the most overdone baseball prose that's ever been done, The home team is losing, it's the bottom of the ninth inning, bases loaded, the star player comes up to bat, and strikes out twice.
What happens after that Of course, he hits a grand slam and wins the game, Shocker. When the Doggers take on the mighty Hounds in a baseball game, Homer hits a grand slam!
