I downloaded this during a free promotion on Amazon, Though I did enjoy the story, because of how short it was, the reconnection between Marko and Juliet did not ring as true to me as if there had been more page time to really explore their unresolved feelings for each other.
In fact, Marko was really standoffish, and downright cold to Juliet when they met again, There was very little indication that Juliet still held a strong place in his heart after the time they spent apart,
Though I was glad for the ending that they both got, the depth of their feelings for each other did not feel as believable to me as I would have wished.
There wasn't enough character development for me to really connect with the male protagonist and see him for the knight in shining armor that he became in the end.
I did enjoy this writer's writing style though, and would be quite inclined to pick up another romance written by her.
A fine read for my time, It was a great length long enough to make me care about what was going on, short enough not to drag on and on.
Not exactly deep or gigantically thought provoking, but entertaining and I think it accomplished it's goal of being a nice, romantic read.
Obviously an amateur author on this kindle freebie novella, Gypsy Bond has a great plot idea but it is not developed with enough significant events and its could be interesting characters fall flat.
Corbin should have expanded this into a novel for it to be a success, This is a freebie that I got from Amazon, It is a quick read, Like many of the freebie Amazon books, it was not the most amazing piece of literature that I have ever read however, it was definitely better than the other
freebie books that I have read recently.
I do end up caring a bit about the main characters by the end, I do wish that the book had been a bit longer, so there would have been time for more character development, No character development very little plot to short, One thing I can say for the digital age is that too much is passed off as a good book when it's nothing more than a poorly developed high school creative writing assignment.
This short story fits that bill perfectly, This was better than most Short Stories, I think it would have made a better Full Length book, with more of the details filled in about what happenedyears ago, the conflict with her family, the daily life of the gypsy clan, etc.
But overall I thought it was really entertaining, I'm leaning towards.rather than, so I'm rounding up, Happy reading. This one was just okay for me, While I admit the angst was delicious, and the chemistry between Juliet and Marko was great, the whole "you've been replaced in my bed" thing was a total turnoff.
Yeah, yeah, historical realism and all that, shakes head In fulllength novels, I'm sometimes able to get past the cheating thing, or even if not "technically" cheating, then the "I've moved on and taken other lovers" thing, but in a novella There's not enough time for me to get past it, and it annoys me when the heroine just accepts it and moves on.
Other than that, though, it was good, There was chemistry, angst, excitement, and even a sweet ending, Those not bothered by the estrangement/infidelity thing might rate it higher, For me though,/Stars. Gypsy Bond is a Steel Magnolia Press publication, This book was released in January, There arepages.
Juliet fell in love with the 'gypsy', Marko and the two were married in a ceremony honored by Marko's people.
But, when Juliet's family hears of the situation, they try to marry her off to an older man, Marko leaves the area, but Juliet continues to keep her wedding vows of forsaking all others, When she learns Marko is back, she demands to take her place as his wife,
Marko doesn't think Juliet would really want to live his gypsy lifestyle and tries to forget her, But, when Juliet's bothersome brother once more attempts to marry her off, Marko must make a choice,
Sometimes for me short stories are hit or miss, Some are very good and some just skip over too many details and characters never really develop, I was little concerned when I saw how short this one was, However, this was an enjoyable read and certainly not a bad way to spend your down time, No, there isn't really anything earth shattering or unique about it, but it didn't have that rushed through feeling that turns me off short stories.
A nice break time escape, This one gets a C, I didn't like it to start with, then it drew me in and I quite enjoyed it after that as I don't read many stories about gypsies.
Quite emotional and the romance was steamy a short read, The ending was a bit abrupt, I wish it was longer, I like gypsy love stories, At sixteen, Juliet Bailey was handfasted to the gypsy, Marko, but when the tribe moved on, she was left behind, For years, she has endured snubs and snide remarks whispered behind lace fans, Now that the gypsies have returned, she demands her rightful place beside her husband,
Marko, who returned to Derbyshire to lay aside his memories of their rash affair, refuses to acknowledge the union, Though attracted to her still, he is convinced that her happiness lies in taking a husband who is her peer,
Stung by Markos rejection, will Juliet choose the path that will separate them forever,
