Get Access Inside A Barn In The Country: A Rebus Read-Along Story Constructed By Alyssa Satin Capucilli Disseminated As Digital Format
pesky cat sets off a chain reaction that awakens the barn animals one by one in the middle of the night in a variation on the classic "This Is the House that Jack Built" format.
I don't know that the rebuses add much, but I do like all the animal sounds and funny pictures, One of my son's favorite books, Afteryears, this is by far still one of our favorites to revisit quite often,
Here is the mouse that squeaked in the hay, . . I hope that I do a good job of concealing the absolute sense of dread I feel every time Edith picks this book.
One after another, the animals in the barn wake each other up with the unique sounds they make, This rebus readalong story is sure to delight and educate children at the same time, Fullcolor illustrations. Fun rhyme, great repetition and great illustrations! This one didn't leave much of an impression,/stars. This is a sequencing book, It repeats everything that has happened before helping children to remember ideas in order,
It all starts one night when a mouse squeaks in the hay, This causes a chain reaction of animals awakening, . . that is until the farmer tells them to go to bed!
The kids liked that at the end there wereanimals still awake.
.A cute cumulative rebus story about animals waking each other up in the middle of the night, Yet another book that
is based upon the tune of "The House That Jack Built" although following the events and problems made by the inhabitants of a farm.
And unlike other books that follow the same tune children are introduced to a new format of reading in which a picture replaces the more popular word read to them so that way children are introduced to the creature instead of the word.
At the same time the reader or audience gets an idea of the sounds that those same farm animals make thus allowing not only the creature to be recognized by their picture but also by the sound.
At the same time the reader is also given a chance to see how one creature can influence another and the domino fall of causeandeffect.
Although I wasn't a fan of the cartoonish presentation of the characters in the book they may still attract younger audiences, especially with the bright colors.
Definitely a fun book and one that will get the attention of young readers who either love animals or enjoy life on the farm.
Fun, repetitive story. Good for kids to be involved in the story, This is my kids' favorite book, They loved the fact that they could "read" it all by themselves and knew it by heart after we read it just a couple of times.
Great for kids ageslol This tale about farm animals is designed as a repetitive, cumulative rebus story, that encourages read along through the use of rebus characters.
it also encourages young children to use listening skills and become familiar with the sounds that different farm animals make, A really fun book that has vivid illustrations, A great book for teaching animal sounds in a fun way, One of my favorite children's books of all time for readaloud and sing aloud, . . I wore my copy out as a preschool teacher, and the kids bought me the hardcover edition as a gift, This was years ago I had a scholastic cassette tape with the cutest song for this, and I still remember it so I can sing it for my youngest.
Love it. I love that the words incorporated the pictures of the animal so the kids can correlate the word mouse to what the creature looks like.
The repetition creates a memory tool for reading comprehension, The theme is to sleep through the night and behave, which kids could relate because they tend to wake up and want to play.
