was terrible and I dislike it, After Audrey has an "unfortunate accident" in a magick shop, things quickly turn strange in her life,
The story is about her struggle to do the right thing and figure out what happened to her, As she tries not to eat her family amp friends, some things in her life, like her nowfound instincts, seem to quickly go to the extreme, Is she a zombie A vampire A hybrid You'll have to read the book to find out! LOL! :
Once I started this book I couldn't put it down!
This was a really fun book to read, with several
"laughoutloud" moments! It's so freaky amp hilarious at the same time!!
But, be warned, it also had a few "Ewwww.
. gross" moments too.
This book is a fun mix of horror amp comedy but is
definitely not for those that are squamish,
If you like zombies, vampires, and more you will
definitely love this book, although it was shorter than I hoped
it would be.
I hope there will be a sequel soon!
Audrey Wickersham, like many fifteen almost sixteen year olds, doesnt feel like she quite fits in, She is smart, makes good grades and liked by her teachers, has a good family, but she is searching for more, This leads her to The Magick Eye, a bookstore that specializes in all things of the metaphysical and enchanted sort,
Looking for her first spell to attempt, Audrey stumbles into a strange jar with living contents, Zomorwai worms, So who is Audrey Wickersham In a few days, she is going to be a zombie,
Written from the lighthearted, sarcastic point of view of a teenager, Who is Audrey Wickersham is a coming of age story with a paranormal twist.
She is searching for herself while fighting against a curse she did nothing to deserve, No sooner does she begin to think that she may understand where her life is headed, she is thrown another curve ball, However she knows her loving very protective father affectionately known as Hulk will always be by her side, Along with Bruce the drama queen babysitter, Agnes the gypsy from The Magick Eye, and Kirk the handsome friend with a secret of his own, Audreys support team is a big dysfunctional family that functions exactly the way she needs it to.
It is a wonderfully written relationship shared by these characters, each facing a challenge of their own during Audreys ordeal,

From first kiss to first kill, Sara Shrieves allows us to travel with Audrey as she faces the everyday challenges of becoming a woman, along with some more unnatural urges.
Shrieves captures that awkward time in our lives with sincerity and authenticity,
A great YA novel for teenagers who are looking for a more mature read, There are a few uses of four letter words but nothing a fifteen year old would not hear or say, There are no sexual situations to address and the violence is not gratuitous, but just what is needed to describe the scene, I feel this would be a great book for a teenager who may not be interested in traditional YA novels and for anyone looking for a new take on a zombie story.
It is certainly worth more than its, price on Amazon. I hope to see more from Ms, Shrieves, perhaps another teen facing a supernatural challenge and maybe more from Audrey,

Oh, Audrey, . . what have you gotten yourself into I loved this character, She was quirky and funny and just a joy to read about, I would've liked a little more of Kirk though, A bit more development of his character before the bomb was dropped, And Bruce, well what a hoot!
Overall: a fun, quick read that I really enjoyed, A zombie/vamp horror/comedy, . . will there be more to this story I certainly hope so!

A truly enjoyable and original perspective on the paranormal with an utterly empathetic heroine, a delightful sense of humour, and a cast of charactersboth mundane and magicalthat will keep the reader racing through those pages, “Who is Audrey Wickersham” is a lively novel for YA and older readers.
Free of explicit sensuality and only one instance of profanity, the only reason for the rating ofwould bewell, violencelots of it,
Audrey is fifteen and has a devoted Dad nicknamed “Hulk,” a neighborformer babysitter Bruce who is an R, N. and joyfully Gay, and a best guy friend Kirk who is two years older, She is also a prude and sensually an innocent, Life turns very funky when on a repeated visit to Magic Edge witchcraft supply store she discovers an annex to the regular store, and while waiting for a custom spell to be crafted, inadvertently knocks over a jarand begins the process of turning zombie.
As the days pass all too quickly, Audrey discovers a propensity for bloodand body partslearns her friend Kirks real secret, and is hunted by the magical Council.
She wants desperately to preserve her Dad and friend Bruce, but doesnt know if she can overcome her hungeruntil Kirk steps in, and either makes things worseor better.
I received this review via Goodreads Lovers of Paranormal Group in exchange for a fair and honest review, This is definitely different from all the other stories I've read that fall under the 'supernatural' category, I mean, who has ever heard of a teenage girl almost turning into a zombie and then turning into some sort of zombievampire hybrid that has an urge to go around eating people It's a unique story line.
I like the creativity of the author,
The characters of the story were also cool, I liked Bruce because he was pretty funny, I liked Agnes because she was sooo intriguing, And I also liked the relationship between Audrey and her dad, how they were so close from the beginning and how Audrey was able to talk about everything with him including her first kiss with a superhot, swoonworthy vampire!.
I yeah, loved Kirk,
The ending was a cliffhanger though, which I wasn't
all too happy about, I wish the author hadn't cut Kirk and Audrey's romance short, I wish they figured out which spell to use in the end to cure the zombies, too, And told us what happened to Phantom the cat, But overall I liked the story and would definitely recommend it to all those who love fictional and supernatural stories, : not my type of book but good if you like that kind of thing, Guess i would be sticking to my chick flicks:, I knew from the instant I saw this cover I had to read it! It had everything I would ever want in a book, zombies, witches, vampires, an epic gay man, and humor I loved how zombies and vampires come together in this story, giving the paranormal genre a refreshing change.
My favorite part about this book was the humor, at many parts I caught myself laughing out loud or giggling to myself, I'm pretty sure people thought I was nuts I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick, humorous read filled with all things paranormal,
However the ending disappointed me, It was so abrupt that I was sure that some chapters were missing, but that was not the case, This book has so much potential and am pleased to hear that a sequel is in the works! I really want to know what happens to Audrey and see how she adapts to her new change!

Also, I am working on adding more to my review.
. that will be on my blog sitelinkAccepted Wisdom This is a well written Young Adult novel, It us fun, well thought out, and the characters are great, It has a perfect balance of horror, supernatural, and comedic relief, The main characters are very entertaining, There is the protagonist a teenage girl named Audrey, her best friend, her father, the flamboyant neighbor, and a mysterious older lady named Agnes,
Once I started reading it, I could not put the damn thing down, It held my interest from beginning to end and left me wanting more, I am eagerly anticipating a sequel, and hopefully soon! I know this is aimed for teens, but I am in my's and thoroughly enjoyed it and so did my kids.
A girl half dead I know everything that's happened is my fault, I try to tell myself that it's okay, I never wanted a normal life to begin with, But then I think about who's been hurt, and I wish that I could go back to the beginning, Back to when I was just a nobody wandering the halls of my high school, alone and unnoticed, Back to when I was completely oblivious to what killing somebody felt like,
You have to understand though, I had no choice, Book provided by the author through sitelinkARR in the sitelinkWe YA Books! group, in exchange for an honest review,
This novel was a fast and funny read as far as I'm concerned I wouldn't put it in my alltime favourites, but it definitely made me smile more than once, for its main character and her quirks first.
Audrey's misfortune is absolutely appaling, yet she has somewhat of a humorous way of telling about it, when her attitude could've been much more angstridden and thus probably more difficult to stand in the long runthat may be because I'm myself the kinf of person who's cry for five minutes, then throw in bad jokes all the time just to deflect the fear and pain.
She's also determined to take things into her own hands even though this leads her to other mishaps, and not to let other people only try to figure out a solution.
Another thing I appreciated is the role played by her father: in a lot of novels, the protagonist's parents often get shoved out of the way very quickly, and the teenagers left to their own devices.
Here, her father is clearly part of the plot, with a fierce desire to help and protect, proving his love for his daughter by the simple fact that, for starters, he's not rejecting her.
And let's not forget Bruce, who I absolutely loved for his own quirks,
What may or may not undo this book for a lot of readers, I think, is its 'over the top/cheesy slash movie' feelingin that either you like such tropes, or you don't.
I'm usually at ease with those, especially when they're used on purpose, which seems to be the case here but I suppose this would deter other people from enjoying this story.
There was also Kirk's matter: the characters suffers, in my opinion, from being introduced too fast for who he is, and he would be more enjoyable if the reader could get to know him better before that.
I originally gaveto this novel, but truly, it was more like,, and now that I'm writing this review, I've decided to up it to, It was a very entertaining story, and I like the author's take on zombies and on how they come to be created, I did enjoy this book even though I gave itstars, I liked how it was an unusual twist on a zombie story and the writing was good, It kept my interest throughout the book, but I felt the beginning did drag on too long and was kind of boring while we were waiting for her to change.
The dialogue between the characters seemed a little dry and forced and at times didn't flow well with the plot, There were times I felt they just spouted off random things that kind of distracted me, but it wasn't enough to make me quit reading, I would have liked to have seen more action because nothing real exciting happened until over halfway through the book, Once it did, the characters did become more interesting and were more engaged in what was happening around them, Sara did a great job describing the gory scenes when the main character feed off her victims, All in all, it was a good read and I would read another book by the author,
