Secure Friend At Court: A Ruth Bowen Regency Mystery Showcased By Brenda Dow Readable In Paperback
Quaker Ruth Bowen returns home to reconcile with her estranged family, she does not expect to run afoul of an eccentric judge of the King's Bench and to find herself confined in Norwich Castle prison.
She
must solve the mystery of why a deaf maidservant was summarily dismissed from her employment and later brought up on trumpedup charges of theft and attempted murder.
Can the girl be a threat to someone in that household I had the pleasure of meeting Brenda Dow in person at the Word On The Street festival the year this book came out, and received a free personalized copy.
It has unfortunately been in my TBR pile since then, but stay at home orders and more time on my hands has greatly dwindled the pile.
I am actually really sad I did not read this before now! While the writing at first was a bit offputting, I soon got pulled into the delightful world of Ruth Bowen and the story of Alice Scorby.
Such a great book, and I am now looking to read more Ruth Bowen Regency Mysteries!! sitelink post a comment,
