Win Love Between The Lines Authored By Kate Rothwell Ebook

is therd that I have read by this author, Her characters are always delightful,
Free on audible, definitely a little language and a love scene to skip and ending was a little risque, Good story. Lovely story that combines romance and mystery with a dash of suspense, Elizabeth Drury, aka Trudy Tildon, is a journalist and investigative reporter inNew York, She has to face fellow reporters, politicians, police who, because she is a woman, dont take her seriously and call her a stunt writer.
She is also coping with estrangement from her family as a result of her investigation of corruption committed by a family friend.
Her work takes her to some very dangerous places while she uncovers corruption, crimes and injustice, While working undercover during one such investigation she encounters our hero, Gideon Langham, a famous English publisher, Gideon came to New York to recruit new journalists for his publishing empire and bring the new blood to London, Journalist Trudy Tildon is on his short list, During their first, totally unplanned encounter, Gideon is both impressed with Lizzie as a journalist and investigator and enchanted by her as a woman.
Both feelings are best described in his words: “Your work is exquisite, Your

prose style is delicate, with fine details and nothing overblown, yet each word packs quite a wallop, as you might say in America".
"Heavens. Was he talking about her words or her body” Lizzie thought, The fascination with Lizzie is all wrong for Gideon as he is almost engaged to a society beauty, But Gideon is determined to have the best people working for him and Lizzie is it and he is a strong man to overcome the dratted attraction.
Lizzie cant pass such a good job offer it is her chance to be taken seriously as a journalist, The protagonists travel to London where they find themselves embroidered in mystery, suspense, danger and undeniable attraction, I love both Gideon and Lizzie, The secondary characters are well developed and nicely enhance the story, This charming book is reminiscent of Laura Lee Guhrke's Girl Bachelor series featuring Victorianera ladies who work for a living, The heroine, Lizzie Drury writing under the name Trudy Tilden is a struggling but moderately successful New York reporter, one of the early muckrakers.
Sir Gideon Langham, a former reporter and now the owner of several London newspapers, wants to hire Lizzie to work for him, and since things are getting rather dangerous for her in New York, she agrees.
It's a package deal, as Lizzie is always accompanied by Oyster, her gruff bodyguard with a murky past,

The unwanted attraction between Lydia and Gideon is almost immediate, but Sir Gideon, is betrothed to an aristocratic young lady who will make him a perfect wife and make high society forget about his inkstained past.
There is crime, danger, adventure, and plenty of sexual tension, as Lizzie and Gideon try to work together and ignore their feelings.
I must say, though, that the plot veered into melodrama toward the end,

I have not read anything by Kate Rothwell before, but I most probably will again, Her writing is crisp, the pacing good, and the characters interesting, I wanted to like this, The basics of the writing is pretty solid and I suspect Kate Rothwell has a future, This did not work for me though, Weirdly confusing to read. I sometimes wasn't sure where we were in the story or what was happening, I did not feel the affection between the H/h at all, No heat, no chemistry, no banter, just nothing, Then the first sex scene was rubbish and I was done, Danger wont deter this intrepid reportereven when life and love are on the line,

Sir Gideon Langham wants the best for his flagship newspaper, Hiring daring female reporter Lizzie Drury, aka “Trudy Tildon,” seems like a smart decisionuntil he finds himself falling for her, He knows shell risk everything to get a story, including one that puts both their lives in danger,

Lizzie longs to write real, indepth articles, When handsome Sir Gideon offers her a job as more than a stringer, she reluctantly leaves her New York beat for unfamiliar London.
But as she pursues a murder investigation, ghosts from her past become all too real,

Digging up dirt attracts the attention of powerful forces who wont hesitate to stop Lizzie dead, Hanging in the balance are Gideons reputationand Lizzies life, In a race to find a killer, Lizzie and Gideon must learn to trust each otherbefore its too late, This book was a rare find in that, it got better the longer I read it, It was obvious who the bad guy was, but interesting to see how the plot developed,./.

In “Love Between the Lines”, Kate Rothwell gives her readers an enthralling look into what life was like, not only for a woman, but for a woman who is also determined to be a journalist in thes.

Read full review in the sitelinkFebruary issue of InDtale Magazine, I liked the biggening and I did get a few laughs, but I hated that the hero was a social climber.
I also hated that he got himself engaged to some woman then minutes later had his tongue down the heroine's throat, Towards the end while still engaged he took the heroine's virginity on his desk, Then when someone set her up, he refused to believe her, fired her and asked her to be his mistress, I did like that when she got kidnapped, she was able to save herself and become her own hero, Maybe more of a fourandahalf star book, but I am rounding up for a great female lead and fun secondary characters, Cute quick read. Overused trope. Vert little is said about the characters' feelings, We don't know a lot about their pasts, We are mostly told about their career ambitions, which seem to count above anything else, As a result, I could get into that story, Strangely enough, I didn't even feel anything when the heroine is in danger! Started out slow and a bit confusing, In the end I was about to bash something on Gideon's head for not believing in Lizzy, nevertheless I read the lastor so pages in one sitting, the murder mystery was that engrossing.
Thankfully, he came to his senses sooner, rather than later, Another great read from Ms, Rothwell.
