nature guide. One accidental forest fire. And one steamy investigator hot on her tail,
Life would be easy for Jen Kulak if she hadnt just burned down the forest she depends upon for her businesss wilderness adventures, It would be even easier if she hadnt accidentally fallen head over heels for the fire investigator tracking her every move,
When the pressure on Jen heats up will she run like she has in the past Or will she find the strength to fight the accusations that could cost her everything, including her own happily ever after
Find out in this small town contemporary sweet romance, the second standalone book in the Blueberry Springs series.
Jen ran away from her old life, Left everything and everyone behind to start anew, Nobody came looking for her, and that suited her just fine, The town Blueberry Springs welcomed her with open arms, In turn, she honored their natural beauty by providing hiking and camping trips to visitors and locals alike, Until a fire was started in the mountains, She knew she didnt start it, She was too careful, border line obsessive, to be so careless, But would the investigators agree This time she wouldnt run away, She owed it to the towns people to prove that she was innocent, This is another Blueberry Springs good book, Jen is an outdoors tour guide in Blueberry Springs, I felt bad for how her parents treated her and then how her ex treated her, I could see why she didnt want to let anyone in to her life or trust easily, I just cant imagine how she felt when she is a suspect for the fire in the forest where she works and had spent a night, especially when she doubts herself if she put the fire out.
When Rob comes to town to investigate how the fire was started, Jen at first thinks he is a hot man, I know she dreaded being attracted to a man that could find her guilty of starting the fire, As all of us, Rob has his baggage with an ex, I know he had to be so conflicted being attracted to Jen, Jen has to learn to let people in to her life, and see how the people of Blueberry Springs thinks of her as one of their own, There are other factors going on that make it hard for Jen and Rob to have a relationship, I encourage you to read the book, I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review, Once again Jean Oram has written a wonderful romance with welldeveloped likable characters and an engaging storyline, Jen and Rob meet when he is sent to investigate a forest fire, All evidence points to Jen being the person who caused the fire, Not great timing since there is a conflict of interest but the sparks fly from the minute they meet, They try to keep their relationship professional but fate keeps pushing them together,
Jen has a lot of baggage going back to her parents' very contentious divorce when she was, She had to reconcile her past in order to move on in life, Rob comes from a closeknit family but hasn't had much luck with relationships, Some misunderstandings and miscommunication cause problems for them but they eventually work through their problems and achieve an HEA,
I love the town of Blueberry Springs and all its eccentric, quirky characters, In Blueberry Springs, the town stands up for their own and closes ranks to help each other when the chips are down,
I urge you to read Rum and Raindrops as well as all the other stories written by the talented Jean Oram, was good I really really enjoyed this book, Even tho it is bookin the Blueberry Springs series, it can be read as a stand alone book,
In Rum and Raindrops, we are introduced to Jen, a nature guide, who has a past and has problems letting others in, She meets Rob, a fire investigator, who is is investigating Jen for causing a forest fire, Sparks fly between the two, but will Jen learn to open herself up to others and find true love Or does she keep Rob and others at bay and miss her chance at love
I have been a fan of this series and have enjoyed visiting the small town of Blueberry Springs.
This book delivers again. I could not put the book down, Jen is a character that the reader can relate to, You will laugh with Jen as she figures out how to prove her innocense,
A definate must read!!
I received this early copy in exchange for an honest review
I enjoyed this book, I did not care for the first in the series, but I had bought a bundle of the firstbooks, so I decided to Blueberry Springs another chance, The characters were more enjoyable in this story, Their issues had more depth and seemed like actual obstacles to a relationship,
These are stand alone books within the series, so I would recommend starting with this one, Jean Oram has outdone herself with this awesome book the third in the series, . . The of the book are Jen and Rob, . . they meet under the most difficult circumstances, . . you can feel the chemistry between them and really feel for them as they are inevitably drawn to one another, . . The story is full of so many twists and turns, . there is suspicion. . misgivings serious trust issues. . and huge insecurities I laughed out loud so many times that I had tears in my eyes, . the slide down the hill being one chapter, . . who would not want an HHMH His Holy Major Hotness in their lives, . I am positive this is the best book in the series, . I will not give the story away detest Spoilers, . just get the book yourself and read this awesome book you will not be disappointed, . WTG JEAN ORAM YOU ROCK !!!! FREE UK amp USth March Jens fight or flight response is well honed towards flight and has been since she was sixteen.
When she becomes the primary suspect in a forest fire she wants to run again but resists temptation, Her life is further complicated by falling for the fire investigator and having her past come back to haunt her, A well written small town romance, Loved the book! Now onto the next in the series! ,stars
This is an easy to read small town story, Everyone sticks together and supports one another, Jen and Rob's relationship was going to be an uphill battle from the beginning as he was there to investigate her, Good to see Jen putting her past behind her,
The only thing I didn't enjoy was the editing of this book, There are spelling mistakes and incorrect grammar throughout, Jen is a nature guide in Blueberry Springs, She moved here three years ago after leaving her life to start over, Jen has made a habit of following her flight instinct but is seems that bad luck just keeps following her with the forest fire that is now raging in Raspberry Creek Park and she was the only registered user of the park the weekend that the fire started.
Jen feels like shes responsible for the fire even though she knows she was careful about all of her fires,
Rob registered for Jens beginner overnight canoe trip who is now, also the fire investigator assigned to Raspberry Creek Park fire, Rob has been traveling for his job, living like a nomad, out of touch with family and friends for long periods of time,
Jen has come to believe that they only reason someone does something for you is so that you owe them later, Her history of relationships has taught her that, for good or bad, you cant really count on anyone to have your back, When her parents got divorces, she was just a pawn in their arguments against one another, On the flipside, Rob comes from a close knit family that is used to being involved in everyone elses business, Everyone takes care of everyone else regardless if you want it or feel you need it,
The trigger points are timing since Rob is supposed to be investigating a fire that is thought to be started by Jen, Therefore, the personal timing for these two is way off, Then they each have their own baggage from their previous relationships, Can these two every fix the timing and communicate in a way that puts them on the same page This book had you guessing to the end,
This is my first Blueberry Springs book, Ive been reading the Summer Sisters series, Ive enjoyed the Summer Sisters so I figure it was worth taking a shot, I look forward to reading more of the Blueberry Spring series, ARC for honest review with no compensation, stars
Rum and Raindrops is bookin the Blueberry Springs series by Jean Oram and another cute read,
Jen and Rob meet when he comes to Blueberry Springs to investigate an accidental fire which she may have set but what happens next in this cute, quick read will fill you with laughs, misunderstandings, lots of sparks, tension and hopefully finding their HEA!! Everybody has things in their past that they would rather not talk about, but Jen has taken this one step further by fleeing from the place she came from.
She works in a sporting goods store and is a nature guide in her spare time, Unfortunately, a forest fire happens while she is out camping on her own and looks like it might head towards the haven she calls home, Enter fire investigator Rob. It is up to him to determine if she set it, intentionally or not, Her reputation is on the line, Will he find her innocent or guilty Will the sparks that flare between them turn into something both are willing to explore This was a fun read that had me laughing at some of the scenes as well as the colorful language Jen has.
She is a
real firecracker, I like her : Rob isn't so bad himself, This one had a lot going for it, The main characters were greatrealistically flawed, encouraged by true friends to “make friends with the monsters under the bed, ” Love that line! The secondary characters were fun, too, Rum and Raindrops is the second book of this series, It is the story of Jennifer “Jen” Kulak, a woman who is running from her past while trying to rebuild her life in Blueberry Springs, She is the local nature guide, The story opens with the small town being threatened by forest fire that seems to have been started by Jen when she was camping the days prior, Rob Raine is the fire investigator who has been sent to determine the cause of the fire, Sparks fly immediately between Jen and Rob but the two need to remain distant as the investigation is still on going, They are thrown together when Rob and his sister, Dina, are a part of her weekend canoe trip, Dina and Jen become friends and she becomes more and more open about her past as it seems that her past is trying to find her, Will Jen be cleared from suspicion Will they catch the fire starter Will Rob and Jen ever find a timing to begin their relationship
Rum and Raindrops was a better story than the first book, but it still had its cringe worthy moments.
There were conversations between women that were stereotypical women talks about orgasms and “banged so good youll forget your own name, ” Ugh, really!! Not all women speak like this! That aside, the tension between Jen and Rob was much better, The conflict of interest added with the undeniable sparks made for a good story, However, the plot was once again predictable and some questions that were raised in the book were not answered, Maybe they will be answered in future books, Overall, this book, like the first one, is a quick beach read that doesnt require too much effort or emotional investment,
Rum and Raindrops
is available in paperback and eBook
This was just a good “read by the pool” book, Had a very slow building romance, The language between Jen and her friends made it seem like this was going to be a dirty book, but it wasnt, just boring, This is a fun, with a bit of a twist of suspense, chick lit romance filled with humorous situations and characters that are quite memorable, Not having read the series prior to this book, I still found it quite enjoyable and never lost in any of the reoccurring characters, This is surely a story that anyone can lose themselves in for an afternoon of pure reading pleasure,
This book was provided by the author for my honest review, Sweet romance
Now I've got no problem with friendship based romances where there is hear but it's just hinted at, I prefer realistic romances where you go at it like wild animals, But to call this a sweet romance is stretching it, this book is more like the latter than the former, Yes, there is no consummation til the very end but the person telling the story has lots of dirty thoughts, Now as to my reason for the low rating the person telling the story is an idiot, If it was told in third person it wouldn't be as bad, If the narrator would use colorless sentences in between the spoken verbal vomit that the comprises the main characters interaction then at least there would be some sensibility in the story.
As it is it's told from a featherhead's perspective and I kept groaning at the stupid as I closed it when I couldn't handle it anymore, I debated not finishing this book and kept hoping it would get better when she didn't panic, After that point it got choppy, bland, and boringlike the author wrote a bunch of scenes and randomly picked three, Oh no, she's done it again, I love this series and the fact that it can stand alone, However, how she also brings in past characters from other books is awesome, I loved the drinks and how they were intertwined in the story, A quick good read with a few surprises! I wouldnt call this a “sweet” romance, The plot is shallow and presented in a very “in your face” adolescent style, The flippant narration and dialogue, intended to be humorous, just came across as silly to me, The main character was extremely inconsistent and hard to care about, Young twentysomethings might find the book interesting, bookin this series of Blueberry Springs, . . totally new to Jean Oram, . . she is Canadian a Canadian author love finding more those awesome author, i have a few love keeping up with them, love this style. . sweet book cover. great characters. clean and wholesome read. great writing style. i didn't see a reason to be lost, . . considering I started with this read instead of bookit is not meant to be funny, . . saw somewho gave it a terrible review because it was not funny, . . i don't believe that it was meant to be funny, . . maybe parts but not the genre it is under that made me laugh, . . it was meant to be women's fiction, . . nothing more or less! i will read more from Jean soon enough, well done. great all around. .
