Gain Our Kind Of Love Conceived By Shane Morgan Expressed As E-Text

on Our Kind of Love

feel bad to write a bad review because the author asked me to read this book for her, but I honestly can't even bring myself to finish it.
I'm up to chapter nine, but that's more than enough, and I can probably already tell you all the "twists" this story is going to take.

Let's first start with the writing not a huge fan, First person narrative is not easy to do well, and it's not done well here, There isn't much difference in the voice of the characters, and there is a LOT of telling instead of showing, I felt like I was reading a list instead of a natural, flowing description of what was going on in the scene,

This is also one of those cringey, instant love type novels, They lock eyes and are captivated and we have to listen to these embarrassing internal monologs as they both take turns gushing over how perfect and beautiful the other one is, and how they need to get to know one another better.

Nate. What an obvious, ridiculous, clichéd obstacle, Reign is written as this wonderful, obedient, smart, and kind girl, I don't believe for a second that she would fall for someone like Nate, or if she did, that she would allow him to treat him the way he does.
It's also obvious from the moment we meet him that he's cheating on Reign, or has slept with someone else, probably the Aislin girl.
Nate is just a really unnecessary and not well thought out/fleshed out obstacle for the two main characters, and he is just a super cliche at that.

A not so important nitpicky thing was kind of the special snowflake names, but I get that that is a trend in YA literature.

I really wanted to like this one, but unfortunately it was not my cup of tea,
Reign is convinced that Nate is the perfect guy for her, Thats until Micah walks into her Moms restaurant looking for a job, Now Reign cant seem to stop her heart from yearning for the guy with the mysterious sea blue eyes and melting smile,

Micah is all but perfect, Hes spent eight months in a juvenile detention center back in Colorado for his unintentional involvement in a crime, Now at nineteen and hoping to escape his ghosts, he lands a parttime job working at a seaside restaurant in Newport, Rhode Island where he meets the irresistible Reign.

He cant help the way he feels whenever hes around her, but shes already taken and Micah doesn't want to disrupt her life or get himself in anymore trouble.
But then his attraction for Reign proves too strong to deny, and Micah finds that he just might discover a reason to stop running.

First I wanted to thank Shane, for offering me to send me an E copy, in exchange of review, Im glad that she did because Shane Morgan did it once again, So far, the books that I have read by her been breathing taking, addictive, memorable, Our Kind Of Love wasnt any different, the second I opened the first page, I was hooked, If I didnt have to work, I would probably finished faster than I did, Our Kind Of Love was real, at least to me it felt real, the characters, along with a story, It was a type of a story that I can actually see happening in real life, Thats what I love about Morgans writing, the way that she describes and portrays her characters, you feel as if you are there with the characters in the story.
Thats how I felt while reading Our Kind Of Love, I felt like I was there with both Reign and Micah, going through all emotions that they were, I even wanted to talk some sense into Reign.
To me, the story was magical, A

story that I will find myself wondering about long after I come to the end,

Reign amp Micah, first of all I completely love the names, especially Reign, a name that you barely see and that made it more unique.
You cant help but love both of the characters, I know that I did, How can you not Especially Micah, hes a type of guy that I wouldnt mind getting to know better, I believe that Micah is type of guy that almost every girl dreams of, I saw how girls wanted him from moment that he appeared, Reign included even if she wouldnt admit it at first, I could tell from start, from the moment he saw her even before he started working with her that there was some sort of connection between two of them.
A connection that her and Nate didnt have, Micah treated her like any girl should be treated, with respect, I was waiting for her to figure out that he was one for her, Hes the one that made her happy, Of course when she finally did, I couldnt help but smile,

Its not too often that I dislike character, Expect Nate was one of those characters that I couldnt like, no matter how hard I tried to, I mostly tried to like him because I liked Reign and I figured that there must been something that she saw in him, Plus the way he treated her half of time, and how he tried pressuring her into sex, it was hard for me to like him.
At same time I could tell, that despite all that he did love her, I just wished he showed it in better way, maybe then he wouldnt lose her, All through book I couldnt help but wonder what Micah did, to land himself in Juvie, in beginning of novel, I had feeling it would be bad, but it turned out not be what I was expecting, I just dont see Micah the type to do something that violent.
Despite his past, Reign stood by his side, now thats a love that will last a lifetime, I loved how Morgan ended the novel, It describes both their relationship and them well,

Our Kind Of Love, is a story about friendship, love and letting go, Its a beautiful. If she wasnt already, she would be one of my favorite writers already, Shane Morgan knows a way to capture readers attention, shes going go a long way,

I received a copy of the ebook in exchange for an honest review,

I have read every book that author Shane Morgan has written so far and each one gets better and better, I love them all and would be hard pressed to pick a favorite if asked, She has a unique way to tell a story that makes the reader feel as if they are really a part of the story.
It is almost like the reader steps into the book right along with the characters, It is amazing the way that she captures the readers attention and incorporates the daily day to day things so it feels like you are really there.
Her characters are "real" people, not the rich billionaires that always get what they want, You can relate to them on a personal level, and that makes the book so much better, There are no guarantees for a "Happily Ever After", as the story is a story that you could hear from you best friend or relatives, that is how true they feel.
I look forward to each and every book that she writes and am already waiting for the next one,
I love the way the author describes the details of the settings, the characters and the way that the story flows, Once you start one of her books, you won't want to stop until you reach the end, I finished this one indays and even then I didn't want to stop to sleep, It is an amazing journey and no matter which book you pick up by her, you will love it! I highly recommend this one to be added to your TBR list, the quicker the better!!! Enjoy it, it's an awesome read!!! This was a fun beach read.
I was able to download it for free for my Kindle, and I was interested in it because it takes place in Newport, RI and the author is a RI native, as well.
It's a light, fun read not terribly deep or intellectual, but diverting and mostly wellwritten, it was ok. very similar to other NA reads,./

Shane Morgan has a beautiful YA novel with this one, The story line is sweet and has that touch of drama and angst,

The characters are strong and come through to the reader, I do have to say though that its an awful lot like the other YA books out there, Boy with dark past meets good girl they fall in love,

Reign is a sweet girl, a good girl with a secret that she cant reveal and a boyfriend who she claims to love.
Micah is the hot young thing that pops into town and is everywhere Reign looks, As they get to know each other their pasts come to light and even things in their present get clear,

This was an easy, simple read that will leave you heart warmed and smiling, My review: Anything and Everything I say is based on MY opinion, This is be being a judgmental bitch so!

I didn't give this story less, because that would be unfair, but I wouldn't personally recommend this book.

There's only one word to describe how I felt whilst reading this work :

Disappointed

LETS BEGIN SHALL WEI won't spoil, much

Condensed version of my review.
Boy likes Girl. Girl has a boyfriend. Girl likes boy. Boyfriend cheated on Girl. Girl kiss Boy. Girl broke up with boyfriend, Girl and Boy have sex, Girl Hides relationship with boy, Boy gets pissed talks to another girl, Girl gets jealous. Girls announces relationship. Parents approve. Girl's nightmares about her sister drowning get solved along with other conflicts of the boy, Boy left. Girl birthday, sorry exboyfriend shows, they are now friends, Boy is back! boy ask forgiveness, THE END.

notcondensed:

Character Background,

Micah was sent to juvenile before, He and His friend Jason, got drunk and things went out of hand, leading to assault,

meanwhile

Reign's sister Mary died, because of her, Mary was asking her to swim with her, being jealous that Mary has an outgoing personality, she didn't, Mary starts to drown, Reign was so shock to do anything,

Awkward Beginnings :

The story starts with Micah Mitchel Stephens, kept his real name to everyone, for a very long period of time!, who is supposedly,

"Broken.
Outcast. Trash. Walking Shit" describing himself and his life His words not mine,
But seriously all I gather from him, is he is so MELODRAMATIC! there isn't a single thing about him that shouts MANLY! He sounds like a hopeless and hapless romantic girl!

not that there is anything wrong with that, except for the fact that he says its normal for him, to meet, hook up and move on! gosh! for you to be able to do that, you have to have some kind of CONFIDENCE!

And I Qoute: "That girls simply another pretty face.
How many have I seen these last few months Why should I care

We meet, hookup, and I move on,

The last thing Im looking for is a girlfriend, Im a no commitments type of guy, None of them ever took the guilt away, anyway,

But its crazy how I feel now, From just one look, my gut says that girl is worth getting to know, Maybe someone I wouldnt mind sticking around

See totally contradiction of personality,

and both of them used the words, he/she's just another handsome/pretty girl!

okay so, we met Reign, the daughter of the owner of the restaurant that Micah and they are so fuckn' awkward! pardon my language

so me move to the next part of the story:

We'll learn that Reign has a boyfriend, Nate.

Nate who's a fake, yeah yeah douchebag boyfriend cliche, something is totally fuck'ed up with that dude, keeps on changing persona

but seriously I find Micah, to nosy to be a guy, asking tons and tons of question, look I know you're interested, but don't ask another coworker:Aislin : whats up with her and Reign's boyfriend.
that's not right, at all,

So the awkwardness, starts to fade, to awkward flirting, no chemistry at all!

Reign almost kiss him anyway and then someone tells her that Nate's been cheating on her: for someone who thinks she has a perfect boyfriend, she believed it without hesitation, what the heck that's just unfair.

So Reign kissed Micah, broke up with Nate, Sleep with Micah, Lead her parents on, that she's still dating Nate, She gets jealous, suddenly announces that She and Micah are dating, then yeah, all is well!

To tell you the truth : for me Reign sister Mary was just another cliche gone wrong for me,

I'm sorry, it just didn't work for me, I didn't made any comment about the grammatical errors, well because I'm not that good in writing properly, why the hell would I criticize someone spelling and grammar mistake.

again This is solely based on my opinion:I don't care if you decide to read it or not and I didn't give this story less star, because that would be unfair, but I wouldn't personally recommend this book.

I can't decide what to rate this, maybe,. I feel like it was similar to a lot of other new adult books, Reign's boyfriend Nate was a freaking jerk amp I can't believe she didn't break up with him ASAP, especially for pressuring her about sex.
Reign definitely frustrated me with the attitude to always keep Nate happy amp ignoring herself, ugh, While I liked Micah, I thought Reign moved so fast with him I was like woah girl, you don't even know anything about him and you do that! Anyway, it was a good thing I got a dual POV.
Oh amp Reign's friend Claudia gave terrible advice, wtf!! So kind of a frustrating book like most NA's in my opinion, CONFUSED

I think the story dragged on a bit longer than it should have, I really don't know if I liked it or not, .
