Gain Access To Bend, Dont Break (Irrevocable, #2) Curated By Skye Callahan Accessible As Digital

my review atsitelink Sinfully Sexy,

This is what I wanted at the end of Irrevocable! I needed Jamess POV, I love that Skye Callahan didnt just retell Irrevocable from Jamess POV either, Bend Dont Break starts just after the raid happens, We dont merely get a story though, we get Jamess thoughts and feelings on everything that happened, I really needed that. Just as Irrevocable needed to be told from Roses POV, Bend Dont Break begged to be told from Jamess POV, With such an intense story, I need both POVs and Skye Callahan did a great job bringing each in at the right time,

The pace and tone of Bend Dont Break is slower and more thoughtful than Irrevocable, Its slow building, and it fits the story, Im actually relieved that the pace isnt fast and furious, Life after the raid is about healing and that takes time no matter how determined you are to move on, I will admit I was a bit anxious and couldnt wait to get to the point when James and Rose finally come face to face again.
I was half tempted to skim up until that point, and not because the story was slow it was just out of pure impatience on my part.
I was dying to find out what really happened between that point and the Epilogue,

I have to stay the story Skye Callahan gave me is not what I was expecting at all, There was waaaay more to the story than Rose and James trying to get back to “normal” and getting to know one another, I was definitely more invested in James than Rose, Im pretty sure its because James had a more difficult time coming to terms with what happened between him and Rose inside the Retreat.
Separating Silver and Kirk from James and Rose wasnt as clear cut for James as it was Rose, But, then again was inside the Retreat much longer than Rose,

I really love James and Rose together, Im glad they didnt allow others to deter them from pursuing a relationship, Their “relationship” may have started under extreme circumstances, but that doesnt mean it cant thrive under normal ones,

This is truly a must read for those that enjoyed Irrevocable,

An advance reading copy was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review, HOLY WOW !!
I am so happy to have read James' POV !! I love the male POV and as much as I loved the sick and twisted James aka Kirk , I couldn't get enough of the REAL James !! Honestly the real James does have many similarities to Kirk.
In this story we pick up where we left off in Irrevocable but we also get the inside scoop on how James ended up as Kirk and what went wrong and when.
Hard book to review because I do not want to give anything away !! One of those times where you just have to have faith when we say go read thesebooks and see what we mean when we say CRAZY TWISTED AND AMAZING !!

James and Rose spend a bit of this book apart , trying to recover physically and mentally from all the events that went down at "The Retreat".
When the truth came out at the end of Irrevocable it was like an OH SH moment , and AHA , OMG MIND BLOWN !! Well do not get too comfy in the calm you may feel because this book has quite a few twists and turns itself !! Will we finally see an end to the sex trafficking Will we finally figure out how Rose was captured or why Can James and Rose survive each other on the outside or are they too wounded to go on

READ THE BOOK !! There is plenty of the HOTNESS we love from James and we also get to know his family/friends a little more.
We get to see his devotion to his job and to protecting those he loves, We also get to see Rose in a different light, She is strong willed and feisty just as she was when she was Silver and you can see that although some of the events may have left their mark others are not far from what she wants in real life.
This is a journey of healing , love and determination, Lives up to the name

This book was through James eyes, and what he sees takes the reader back to bookbut just as good.
Added more depth and made me like the series more, Well done! When I found out that I would get to read James side of the story and get inside his head, I knew that I wouldnt be let down.
Skye has done it again and blown me away with Bend Dont Break, I thought I loved James in Irrevocable, but after reading this one I became absolutely infatuated with him, Hes one amazing character that will forever have a place in this readers

heart,

Bend Dont Break will give you a whole new outlook on James, It shows what I already knew, that the man is absolutely unbelievable and just remarkable, Hes so caring, loving, and truly treasures those in his life, You get to understand how he was feeling through what he went through at The Retreat, I just couldnt imagine the pain he felt through it all, till now, and it was an eye opener to this wonderful guy, Not only do you get to experience what he did, but you get to know what hes going through now after everything that happened.
I loved getting to know what he went through and was going through now because it lets you in this beautiful mans world, I have to say that James is going on my book boyfriend and favorite book list, right up there with Kellan Kyle, Yes, he deserves to be on the top of my very long list of faves,

Its one of the best books/series you will read this year, Its dark, beautiful, and just overall a must read,

But will James and Rose aka, Silver and Kirk, make it to the very end still together Youll have to pick up this wonderful book and find out for yourself.

I give Bend Dont Break Five out of Five Infatuated STARS
Arg,

Much of this book was actually not bad, It was mainly mysterythrillerpolice type material, and I was very interested to see the aftermath for the MAN who had gone through the type of experience he had in the first book we frequently see women recovering from sex trafficking, but what about male undercover cops who have been forced to play the other role I thought that should have been covered a lot more seriously with more significant consequences, but I liked the idea.

But then the author lost it, and nearly made me throw my computer across the floor, In the first book, Our Heroine was gangraped twice the first time while tied to a bed and beaten with whip and cane, and the second time while tied to a table.
So what does Our Hero do Ties her to a table and beats her gently with a spatula, And supposedly she enjoys it, SERIOUSLY, PEOPLE Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Can we talk about Flashback City, and PTSD Central

And throughout, Our Heroine is fine with sex, After being gangraped. Twice. Because, of course, our Hero has The Magic Penis,

Sigh.

I want to see a better author write a story with these characters, I am reading this book out of order for a challenge, but I will say I didn't find it dark at all, It seems like what they went through was dark, but this book isn't, There is some mild BDSM, and there is suicide and someone shoots at a house, But honestly wouldn't not tag it as dark,

This is a story about an FBI agent who went deep undercover to help fight human trafficking, This book takes place after he is out of undercover job, but now those he brought down might be after him and his girlfriend.

I thought I was done,
my End
I couldnt take my eyes off her as the bullet tore through me, leaving me with nothing but the hope that I had done enough to save her.
The darkness tried to engulf meto brand me as its own and drag me to my fate,
my Darkness
Waking to see her tearstained face above me was enough to make my heart stutter, I was alive and free from that placebut not from the toll it had taken on my mind and body,
my Strength
My story should have ended, but one woman kept standing in the way of that, The only way I could have her was to find a way to put the darkness to rest, After reading Irrevocable, I wanted to get James side of the story, This isnt a retelling of his time at the retreat with Rose, It starts after he is shot,

Bend Dont Break is the closure this story needs, Its not as dark as the first book but it has its moments, James is recovery in this story after his gun shot, He is also trying to find his new version of normal after a year of being someone else, Even though it starts after the raid, James gives us flashbacks as he remembers things hes done, We get a glimpse into his thoughts and feelings of his time at the retreat with Rose,

Despite the Doctors advice that he should let Rose live her life and move on, he just cant, James and Rose formed a bond during their time together, So while they see if they still have something worth building a life on, James and his partner are trying to close the case.
This is where things get even more interesting!

The author did a great job telling James side, I loved the flashback telling of his time at the retreat, It was a great way to get his thoughts and feelings across without retelling the first book, Skye Callahan gave me the closure I needed for these characters, .
