Obtain Welcome To Icicle Falls Written By Sheila Roberts Issued As File
this book no longer in print I can't find it anywhere in paperback and I don't like Kindle, Cute Story
I didn't realize it was a short story but it was cute, Not much to it or the characters, but an easy read, B Absolutely love this book great story Cute, fun readStars Great intro to the series, Welcome back to Icicle Falls!
See how it all began, A prequel to Life in Icicle Falls, the popular series by Sheila Roberts,
Join Muriel as she tells you about the town shes loved her whole life, Back in thes, good girl Muriel became a rebel when she resisted her dads plans for herto run Sweet Dreams, the family chocolate company, She had dreams of her own, dreams that involved a handsome stranger named Stephen Sterling, But everything worked out, as it often does in Icicle Falls, even if it happens in ways you dont expect, Think of it as the Second Chance town! Good book
Great book for a quick read, Sweet story of life and love, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to feel good about love the way we may imagine it to be,
This is a very short prequel to the Icicle Falls series,
We learn about Muriel and her life growing up in Icicle Falls, We learn how she fell in love with an outsider, Stephen Sterling,
Muriel rebelled against her father's plans for her, his only child, to run the family business, When Muriel fell in love with Stephen, she chose him over Icicle Falls and was prepared to leave her beloved town, As, always, things have a way of working out in Icicle Falls, Muriel stayed, married Stephen and together they took over the family business,
Cute history of Icicle Falls and Sweet Dreams, I have been wanting to read the Icicle Falls series for awhile, but havent had a chance, When I saw this prequel novella, I figured this would be a good opportunity,
First, this is a very short novella, but it did the trick, It introduces the readers to the town of Icicle Falls and the people who live there, It definitely whet my appetite to continue with this series, Now, I just have to make time for it :
This one starts off in thes before the series actually began, which is present day.
Even though this is a short book, the author did a great job of developing the characters, I already felt as if I knew them,
Im more than ready to find out what happens to these characters as time goes by and they grow and have their own families.
Definitely looks like a series I will enjoy, Fun, short, sweet romance and friendship story
The importance of romance is not to be eclipsed by ruining a friendship to get it.
Muriel tells the young women daughters, nieces, etc, who are not speaking to each other because of a boy they both like, the story of her romance and how it came between her and her friend.
Back in time to thes, Muriel and Pat fell for the same guy, Was Stephen a drifter or the love of her life Was he worth losing a friend for and her dad's wrath As the story unfolded, I was not sure which way it would go as I had only read one story in the series.
Short, sweet, romantic, and about friendship, Worth reading.
I will read more in this series that I am slowly getting hooked on thanks to Overdrive app and the digital library, I love Icicle Falls!
This book gives the reader some backstory to the idyllic town and some of its prominent characters,
Sheila Roberts has never disappointed me with her wit and characters, These people are almost real enough to point them out in any small town, Welcome to Icicle Falls is the prequel to the Life in Icicle Falls series,
Muriel Sterling has spent her entire life in Icicle Falls and couldn't imagine life anywhere else, Back in the's, Muriel began to rebel against her father's plans for her to run the family's chocolate company, Muriel had her own dreams which included a handsome stranger who passes through town,
Welcome to Icicle Falls takes place largely in flashbacks to the's but also includes small scenes in present day, While this story is listed as a prequel, it heavily features characters from several of the books in the series after their romances have taken place, Unfortunately this meant I was largely lost as to who anyone was as I hadn't read any of the other books in the series thinking this was the first one.
Ultimately that meant I didn't really care about any of the characters as I had no connection to any of them, Also, I didn't enjoy Muriel's romance very much as it includes some tropes I don't really enjoy, My biggest issue was that Muriel and one of her best friends fought over the guy which isn't something I enjoy in my romances,
Overall Welcome to Icicle Falls is one that likely would have worked better for me if I had read other books in the series first.
I havent read this series yet but I think it will be filled with solids just like moonlight harbor series! Fun light vacation reads Prologue to introduce us to some of the characters who live in the fictional town of "Icicle Falls".
I liked that the story had an interesting hook to draw the reader in, It was a sweet story written for a time more suited for the "Happy Days" "Leave it to Beaver" generation, Nothing wrong with that because I'm a babyboomer myself but it did move a little slow for the types of crisis we deal with now, The book starts at a cookie swap event sometime around Christmas present day where two best friends teens are not speaking to each other because they are fighting over a boy.
Muriel, who runs the family owned chocolate store "Sweet Dreams" is hosting the event, Muriel and her friends decide to help the teens by telling them about their experience in the's with the same situation, Muriel tells of what happened when her BFF Pat and herself went after the same handsome stranger, Stephen Sterling, No spoilers beyond this point because the story is short and sweet and meant to make a moral point, Enjoyable! I'll have to read bookto see how this series pans out for me, Welcome to Icicle Falls is a novel by Sheila Roberts, This is the first in the series, It takes place in the summer of, although it begins in the present, The book is a flashback to tell a story to the young girls in town who are feuding over a boy,
Olivia Green, Muriel Sterling, and Pat Pearson are complaining about the lack of cute boys in Icicle Falls, However, there were more people in town now than there were a few years ago, The town was dying and Muriels father came up with the idea of turning the place into a Bavarian village and making it a destination town, They had access to mountains for skiers and rivers for fishermen, They could get together and make it a great town for all seasons, The community did and the town is prospering, Then a new man rides in on a motorcycle, He had longish blond hair and according to Olivia and Pat, he was gorgeous, They had arranged to meet him at Hermans Hamburgers and came into the chocolate shop where Muriel was working to tell her about it, She wanted to go with them but she had to work at Sweet Dreams instead, Later they brought the guy into the shop to introduce him to Muriel, Muriel was immediately infatuated and knew he was for her, However, he and Pat seemed to be an item, Muriel and Pat were best friends, how could she even think of trying to get him away from Pat What will happen now
The book is more of a novella than a long novel.
It serves to introduce us to Icicle Falls and some of the characters who appear in future books, It is almost as if the later books were written and this one was then written as an introduction, I liked the way this story was set up, Fast paced novella. This read like a preteen novel written in the's, I was happy that it was a novella, which is not a compliment, Not really a fan of when the author does a big part of the story as a flashback This revolves around the folks in Icicle Falls and how they met.
It is onlypages long, A short little introduction to Icicle Falls, It was difficult to keep everyone straight in the short present day chapters, The flashback chapter gave you just a hint of what a full length novel would be like, I will continue the series, With fifty books to her credit, both fiction and non fiction, Sheila Roberts is a frequent USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestseller and a fan favorite, Her books have sold over three million copies and have been turned into movies for the Hallmark and Lifetime channels, Before settling into her writing career, Sheila owned a singing telegram company and played in band, When shes not traveling, Sheila can be found hanging out with friends, playing tennis, and, of course, writing, With fifty books to her credit, both fiction and non fiction, Sheila Roberts is a frequent USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestseller and a fan favorite, Her books have sold over three million copies and have been turned into movies for the Hallmark and Lifetime channels, Before settling into her writing career, Sheila owned a singing telegram company and played in band, When she's not traveling, Sheila can be found hanging out with friends, playing tennis, and, of course, writing, sitelink.
