Ok. I'm done. Can't do it One of the better books I've read in quite awhile, this one gets ten, It's the first book I've read by the Grey's, but I am now a fan and will be checking out their other works.
Their style is straightforward, with a good balance of romance, drama and suspense, I was so wrapped up in the characters and their story at the end that I was grinning and crying happy tears.
I read a lot, and that is rare,
Melody Swanson is twentyfive and at the top of the charts as a singer/songwriter when her life is changed in an instant.
A horrible automobile accident and resulting fire leave her scarred and disfigured, A year later she has become a recluse, unable to write, yet contractually obligated to write and perform another album.
Challenged by a bet with her assistant, she remembers she was always at her best creatively after sex and after a few drinks goes online and finds a man with haunted eyes.

Kade has been through three tours of duty, came home to a young son whose mother is strung out on drugs, and raised him as a single father after the boy's mother left and disappeared.
He finds underground fighting is a release for his anger and PTSD and makes enough fighting to open a gym.
Then his son is diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, When Shane, a childhood friend, offers to pay his son's medical bills, including the experimental drugs that may save him, Kade agrees to go to work for him until his debt is paid.

Kade and Melody's lives are so different that the way they came together caught me by surprise.
The challenges they face are seemingly insurmountable, But that's the reason I read romance instead of other genres, I know that most of the time, the light at the end isn't a train, and that any tears will be happy tears.

Melody Swanson had it all, She was young, beautiful, rich and had an amazing voice, Shes being called the “voice of a generation” but man, is she screwed up, Shes under obligation to write songs for her label and the pressure is mounting, Melody is stifled creatively and shes tried everythingalcohol, drugs, etc, but nothing is working, Desperately, she turns to her other addiction, sex, Well, she doesnt think shes an addict but her therapist doesbut really what does she know anyway On her way to a midnight tryst, Melody suffers a car accident, which leaves her horribly disfigured.
Now, she hides behind a mask, literally and figuratively, interacting only with those she employs, Even her golddigging parents are worried and bring her a therapy dog, Melody is content to continue her reclusive existence but fate, the fickle bitch, isnt through with her yet.
She learns that shes STILL under obligation to her label to produce an album or theyll sue.

Kade, an embattled veteran struggling with PTSD is a lost man, Life, and poor choices in friends, is literally beating the crap out of him, Hes a cage fighter taking a pounding, in underground fights, searching for a miracle but one last Hail Mary leaves him injured.
Body broken, with no other options, he enters into a deal with the devil, He sells his gym, and his body, for an experimental treatment that mightMIGHTsave his son, Devastated by all thats happened and the debt he owes, he becomes an escort,
Knowing that she has to jumpstart her creative process and horribly alienated in her solitary existence, Melody believes the only way shell ever enjoy the touch of a man again is to pay for the service.
She stumbles across a website offering escorts and is stunned by what she finds, She sees eyes staring back at her that mirror her own pain,

I didnt immediately fall in love with this book Melody seemed like everything I cant stand about the entertainment industry.
She came across horribly selfish and entitled but I wanted her to be better than that, Thank goodness the authors agreed, Isnt it strange what a revelation we are when our artifices are stripped away So, I waited for her breakthrough.

On the other hand, I connected with Kade right from the start, My nerves began to sing when I realized why he was putting himself through the beatings, They started fraying when I read about his struggle outside the hospital room, They were shot when he described the struggle our military goes through trying to reintegrate into the world they fought to protect.
I was beyond angry when I realized the lengths he was being forced to go to in order to repay his debt.
I was a livewire and my heart broke for him,
Both characters are struggling with their own form of PTSD and I loved that the authors were sensitive to that.
They introduced various mediums of assistance, therapy, pets, etc and I like that they are using reading as a way to break down some of those taboos, in some small part.
I also believe deeply in the power of music to heal,
In the end, I loved this book, Its redemptive nature of the story and the power to be reborn after tragedy captured me, Even when I didnt like Melody, it was a pageturner, It was my first time to read the Greys but I doubt itll be my last, Bravo!
Courage, healing and finding your inner strength in the face of tragedy,

Left with a long recovery and hiding behind a face mask, she hides in her house from the world.
Pressured to revive her career by her record company, she seeks comfort in an escort,

Kade, MMA fighter, trainer and escort, is desperately trying to pay off a debt, He, himself, is haunted and deep in sorrow, which is why Melody chooses him, Two peas in a pod,

This unusual relationship, beauty and the beast in reverse, brings hope, faith and stability in both their lives.
It provides them with an opportunity to both feel as they can finally open themselves up and lay their emotions bare, as well as be true to themselves.


These were characters that got under your skin with their tragic and emotional pasts, The writing was very direct but managed to convey the whole of emotions from their roller coaster of a ride.

The only downside was the paparazzi that wouldn't leave her alone, One in particular, almost cost Melody her life, Scarred, lonely, and afraid to leave her home, Melody searches the internet for a solution, When she meets Kade, a sexy fighter, he is grieving over a loss, Together they try to heal each other, Kade gives Melody a reason to keep writing songs and singing, Melody gives Kade a reason to keep fighting after his loss, Will Melody overcome her fears of performing again Will Kade overcome his feelings of guilt, over something he had no control over This was a beautiful and touching story about loss and healing, and overcoming obstacles and fears.
I am definitely going to recommend this book to many people,

I just got to reading Oslo amp Priya Grey books and I'm there biggest fan, I laughed, cried like hard and felt hot and bothered, The strengthen these two have is unimaginable, I'm sick and disabled and I wish I have their strength this is not only just another romance book this book is a book to show you shit happens but let the people who love you to be your strength until you can see your worth of your life.

I really enjoyed this refreshingly different plot with very likeable human characters, I'm glad to have stumbled upon this one, I'm not sure my review would be enough to Express how much I love this book,

I just finished reading "Healing Melody" and I think it's my new favorite book.
I started reading it this morning and couldn't stop reading until I was done, You both owe me a box of tissues,
Such a beautiful story,
PS, maybe a novella for Cade and Melody to add to the Epilogue

Had my heart from the first pages

This story just grabbed my heart and wouldnt let go I had to grab the tissues early on so I knew this was going to be something unusual.
I usually dont gravitate to “make me cry” romance but this one snuck in under my radar and Im so glad it did!

Melody Swanson was riding high on her musical success and couldnt imagine her life getting any better.
No, not everything

was perfect but what was good was spectacular, Until it seemed to all be lost in an instant

Kade Turner, on the other hand, knew all about the worst in life.
He didnt know how things could improve the hell his life had become, a life that was not his own

These two meet in an unusual way and their relationship never does become conventional.
Honestly, Melody came across as a bit cold at first but it takes a little Mingus to open her heart and my eyes to the many facets of this oh so human woman.
Kade, on the other hand, was a sympathetic character from the start, Dealing with so many losses he had few options and watching him struggle to do what he needed to made me want to jump in and hug him more than once.

I laughed, I cried and I got angry, This story hit all the right notes!
