Between reading this book and sitelinkThree Cups of Tea, I was having dreams of guns, terrorists and kidnappings, so fun. my hyper active imagination can't always deal, Otherwise, i appreciate this man's passion for working for God in and over Cuba, He went thru some really hard, intense things and i always wonder if i would make it thru prison and such, as he did, Tom White's story of being imprisoned formonths in Cuba for dumping literature over the island,

This book tells the story of his interest in dropping literature, the flights he took in small planes to do it, and the crash of his last plane.
At that point he was captured and imprisoned in very poor conditions,

The book tells some of the stories of some of the Christians imprisoned for various crimes,

I read this book out of interest in Tom White when I recently read that he had committed suicide after being charged with molesting a young girl, The suicide and the apparent molestation of the young girl apparently caught everyone at Voice of the Martyrs by surprise, I read the book to pick up clues as to how a Christian, well known in some circles, could 'finish his race' so badly, if these recent things were true.


No clues. My guess is that he was leading a double life but what in the world do I know, Nothing.

Complicated, I am sure, God still reigns, but this story is a huge warning,

I want my story to end well, to glorify God, Tom White is the director of the Christian organization, and magazine, Voices of the Martyrs, Inhe was captured by the Cuban G, equivalent of the Soviet KGB, after dropping Christian leaflets from a little airplane, He was tortured and kept in prison formonths, His ordeal, no worse than many others, is told in this great little book,

We witness world history in the human flesh of its victims, citizens who claim their personal freedom, God says give God what is God's and Caesar what is Caesar's, And that should draw the line pretty well, We are not to worship any other god, not Marx, not Castro, not any ideology, Tom White is American, but many Cubans were imprisoned see Armando Valladares' book also, are imprisoned for being truthful to their faith, In matters of faith we are to hold Him above anything and anybody else, and we know we do good because our God is the God of love and truth.
Tom White's weapons were the true Word of God, His testimony is an example, an encouragement for us, comfortable Westerners, to do our part, at least to pray more consistently for those who have taken upon themselves the hardest jobs of our faith: to take the gospel to the countries where evil has intoxicated the minds of many people.
