The Berenstain Bears Visit the Firehouse is an adventure sure to delight,
Read this because we have gotten into Emergency!, and I was not sure what to call the snorkel, which this book does not cover, I am sure kids that are into firefighting will still like it, SM This is that ubiquitous "visit the firehouse" book that every children's book series has, With so many explanations of fire equipment and the job of the firefighter, there's not much room for plot, But even though this is one of the newer books, it feels old and dated, The fire pole is such a thing of the past now, and honestly so is the fire dog,
What was jarring and strange was the idea that there was a fire, so they suited up the Berenstain Bears to go with, Like that's not a lawsuit ready to happen, This makes the story so farfetched that it calls into doubt the actual facts about firefighters, which is unfortunate, They let the whole Bear family go along in the fire truck to a real fire Finally a book that explains a firehouse, the equipment and tools in a practical simple way for preschoolers.
I wish they would have mentioned that some firefighters are volunteers and don't necessarily live at the firehouse, fire station or the fire barn as it is called in our community.
