Take The Redemption Of Jake Scully Generated By Elaine Barbieri Expressed As E-Text
didnt realize when I grabbed this at a library tencent sale that the author was best known for secular romances that commonly feature captivity tropes and rape romances.
No wonder it had no substance and the “love” was based on physical appearance and hotness, . . only it had a lot of Bible verses shoved in awkwardly to make it fit in LIH genre and thankfully it left out the sex scenes, I normally dont mind age
gap, but this instalove one with a girl who has called him uncle for a decade was really too much to swallow, This isnt true love.
Plus the absolute ignoring of historical social custom because the girl is “Christian and loving” and somehow everyone nice will understand that and give her character a free pass.

My original first rant reaction:

so yeah, thats not sticking around on my ownedbooks shelf! I have been reading a lot of Love Inspired books lately, mostly because they are clean, light and fluffy and they pass the time while I am nursing.
They are usually decent, but nothing to write home about, This one though, was quite good, I enjoyed the interactions between characters and they seemed more natural than in many of this type book, The relationship developed in a believable way, in a believable time frame, It also had a strong faith element which didn't feel pushy, It was sweet. The romance in this going on between Jake and Lacey was sweet and really awesome, I loved every plot twist, every danger, and of course the romance, I didn't expect I would since it's both a historical and christian and I was suprised at how much I enjoyed this book, "The Redemption of Jake Scully" was one of my favorite books, This is one I will keep on my shelf and reread! One of the best books I've read in a while, Usually about half way through the book, I'm thinking, "get on with the story," but this book kept the story moving throughout the book, Wow! I really loved this book! There were a few parts of the book that were repetitive and a little predictable, but overall GREAT BOOK! : The Loner and the Lady
Saloon owner Jake Scully knew his rough frontier town was no place for a delicate lady like Lacey Stewart.
Once, he'd sheltered her from harm, Ten years later, Lacey was no longer a frightened girl, but a woman grown, She deserved a respectable man, not a jaded rogue like Jake,
And Jake's "delicate lady" had a mind of her ownwith ideas that included introducing Jake to a life of love and faith, no matter how hard he tried to keep his distance.
But when danger began stalking her again, Jake realized the only safe place for Lacey was by his side, AKA sitelink Elaine RomeElaine Barbieri wrote over thirty historical novels that have been published worldwide, She was certain young adult readers would enjoy the excitement of historical romance if given a chance, and she welcomed the opportunity to write Miranda and the Warrior for this new audience.
