Achieve Draekon Fire (Dragons In Exile, #2) Developed By Lee Savino Listed As Paper Copy
just couldn't get into this couple, They had zero chemistry byi just skimmed through the rest of the book, I'll past on reading the other books got a feeling they'll all be lackluster, Another good read for those of us who love dragon shifters! These two at least really need to be read in order.
The book continues where Draekon Mate left off, Our heroine is still in a coma from some killer jungle fungus and her mates are trying desperately to save her.
The two aliens have a historyyears ago they met a woman who could have been their mate they did the dragon transformation thing but she was killed before they even knew her name.
At which point they were both shipped off to the prison planet, And now their second chance at a future is dying, . .
Needless to say she doesn't die but when she wakes up and is hit with the 'no rescue, we're stuck here and those two hunky guys who have been caring for you are your mates and oh yes, they can turn into dragons' she is not onboard with it.
She wants off, she wants Starbucks, she wants chocolate, . .
Obviously going to be a series but there are two entries as of now:
Draekon Mate
Draekon Fire
If the whole menage thing doesn't work for you, this is not the series for you.
I almost never DNF, but I'm DNFing this from the prologue,
Recently I nabbed the complete audiobook series, Draekon Desire, on Audible for like, For that price, who could say no tohours of MFM dragon smut I liked the first book Draekon Mate well enough to continue.
But this prologue is from the POV of a side character, a female scientist called Raiht'vi.
She's participating in Nazitype experiments on her own people, But, like, she feels conflicted about it! She's just following orders,
When two of the men see their mate, they transform into dragons, To keep the program secret and save her hide, she orders the woman shot and killed, The dragons turn back into men and are banished to a "prison planet", Again, she feels super bad, you guys,
Her sympathetic portrayal made me suspicious so I started skimming, TLDR: the same men That's not heroic, that's the barest fücking minimum, Apparently she's a recurring character because her name appearstimes and that'stimes too many for me.
decent enough. Raiht'vi is the daughter of in the third year of her ten year apprenticeship to becoming a scientist of Zoraht.
Her path has been determined for her since the moment of her birth and she will carry out her duty.
She had been put on assignment in the bottom lab, An assignment was given her in the bottom lab, not because of skill but rather as a test by her father.
Her test subjects, a woman who had been kidnapped from the streets of Giflan and Dennox, a high ranking soldier who reported to the Empire.
When Vulrax, third born in the Empire, comes into the lab and sees the two prisoners, both he and Dennox morph into dragons claiming the woman as their mate.
Raiht'yi, being the highest ranking scientist there at the time, orders the woman prisoner shot to control the dragons.
Once dead, both draekons morph back to men, Now they must be exiled, They know and have seen too much and can not be trusted,
Once again, Lee Savino has the innate ability to create a world with characters so flawlessly, they will grab hold of your imagination and keep you there until the very last page.
It's wonderful to see the main and side characters interact with each other in such a way it seems like every day conversations you don't need to interpret or put thought into.
It's just natural.
The writing is fine, but I just felt like I was going through the motions of reading this rather than being engaged by the story.
I liked Harper's initial resistance to the whole 'fated mates' idea, but she had all the breaking strain of a soggy biscuit and soon folded.
For once I want a heroine who STICKS TO HER GUNS rather than lust making her a mindless hussy who can't wait to drop her knickers.
I try not to judge a series bybook so I read the second one, Well, most of it. I started skimming when she went from no no to bring it, big guys, She's forced to spend time with her mates because the leader decided he wanted more dragons available completely discounting how Harper feels about things.
Woman just woke up from a coma, has learned about being stranded, and is basically handedalien guys and told to bond them.
So, of course, after just over a week she's changed her mind and saying yes, Why, afteryears on that planet, haven't they come across or grouped up with
the other drop batches Safety in numbers and a more varied skill set to draw from.
Also, isn't this a prison planet Wouldn't the genetic drops want to band together for safety against the prisoners Why, if they test yearly, aren't there more drop batches What kind of slack informants does this royal family have that they have no clue about the crimson guys or the secret labs that are literally under their noses Why are the geneticists so hung up on dragons when they should be investigating low female births I tried.
But there's little logic and too much lust, Sx is fine in a romance but it doesn't replace plot lines, This is one of those books where it seems the author thinks that in order for a female to be a strong character she needs to be a total bitch.
Harper was completely awful, seconds after waking from a coma she was berating her "friends", This is definitely not for me, I finished this book hours ago and I truly cannot tell you the plot except that the heroine was poisoned and in a coma for two weeks before waking up and meeting her mates.
They kinda just fucked around as dragons.
Like I'm not complaining, but, . . RIGHT NOW, IM SAFE, IM SECURE, AND IM LOVED
The story continues in this amazing series, with sexy alien men that have been banished to a prison planet because they carry a mutated gene where they are Draekon, in other words, they can shift to dragons.
The Zorahn are wanting Earth women to aid in their secret experimentation but convince Earths government that it is a temporary sixmonth stent, and ten women will be on the first shuttle.
“You represent the first step in an alliance that we hope will span generations, ” “Were glorified lab rats. ”
It is discovered that the crash on the planet was part of a plan devised by Beirax, but with an attempted override by Raihtvi.
The scientist is hoping that human females will be able to mate with Draekon men exiled, After the landing, Harper Boyd will touch fungi that will poison her body, shutting it down and placing her in a coma.
Raihtvi suggest cutting Harpers palm, and the two alien men who consider her their mate, to do likewise and allow their blood to help heal her.
The fourteen exiled aliens, along with the two aliens from Zorahn, and the four woman from earth will have to seek higher ground to live during the raining season.
They have houses and a central location for eating and communal time, The rain isnt gentle it is a heavy, nonstop deluge that will happen for three months,
The plot will have Harper coming out of her coma, and two men who want to claim her for their triad, as their mate, Dennox and Vulrux.
One was an elite soldier until he was captured and exiled, the other part of the highborn lineage.
It is decided that Harper is in control of how their relationship progresses and whether the mating bond will happen.
The story will have Dennox, who was a warrior, one who has had his memory wiped clean eighteen times, needing to know more of his past, wanting to be sure he would not cause harm to Harper.
Slowly bits and pieces of his memory return, along with a realization of who Raihtvi really is.
Vulrux is a cousin to Arax and was studying to be a healer, For the sake of pairbond and mate, he will try to glean information from the Zorahn scientist.
The story will take on some life and death situations, intense moments, flashbacks, along with acceptance of the past.
For Harper, she must decide what her future holds for her, Her past left her empty, and she has a chance for a future with not one, but two sexy dragons who both want her and show her how much they truly care.
But, is she who they really want, or are they still mourning for their mate that was killed before they could claim her Justice will be decided by allowing the victims to help pass sentence on the guilty parties.
They are something worse than death, isolation, and banishment,
The story has plenty of passion, angst, sexual chemistry and explicit sex scenes between a human woman and her two hottie dragons.
This is an ongoing series, and each story will read as a standalone, In the next book, maybe we will learn more about the five human females that were taken captive by another Draekon group.
