Take Blood Money (Alice Worth #1.75) Edited By Lisa Edmonds Listed As Physical Book
is the prequel to Heart of Malice, however reading after would probably be best, I usually like to read things in order, With this one, published order works better, You get to know Alice and love her in HOM and see what she is dealing with the vampires and Charles, Then in Blood Money, which is told from Charless POV we get to see his true motives, Oh is he ruthless and duplicities! Alice is wise to be leery and cautious of him,
“There really was no better profession for a vampire of Charless disposition than that of a broker specializing in magical objects, ”
From the beginning, once he meets and realizes how special and unique Alice is, which she does a piss poor job of hiding, Charles decides to add her to his collection.
I think he is more dangerous to her than anyone else currently in her life, because of how much he covets her,
“I am the sort of man who enjoys uncovering secrets, ” Charles let his eyes glow softly, “I will see yours laid bare, ”
I am glad I took the time to read this one before I moved on to Heart of Fire, It gives a lot of insight into Charles that is needed and introduces us to Mark Dunlap who is heavily featured in the next novel, It shouldnt be overlooked. I know in a lot of series the novellas dont move the story or hold significant weight, However, this one is a MUST read!
I am giving Blood MoneyBoundless Stars it is loaded with action, magic, and just overall great storytelling for a fabulous author.

sitelink facebook. com/BBs Being in Charles head after the kind of crap he pulled in the first bok wasnt exactly a walk in the park, His character is definitely compelling even though theres a layer of smugness and inhumanity that sours it all, the kind of stunts he pulls make him an easy character to despise,
I really enjoyed how much of a deeper look we had into vampire society and saw the Court machinations are constantly afoot in order to gain more power this story taking place some years before bookgave us the opportunity to know Alice as she had just established herself in the city and was just starting her careerI really appreciated getting a glimpse of her character back then and appreciate the kind of growth she went through by the time we meet her in the first book which is quite the statement considering how much ground she has to cover yet.
BR with sitelinkJess An interesting flashback to how it all began,
This filled in a few of the blanks I had while reading the series, How did Charles and Alice meet, how did he become obsessed with her, and who the hell he was meeting in book one when he canceled their meeting in the first book when she first encountered Sean.
A fast paced fun read that had me wishing it was longer,

Charles Vaughan has always had great taste in women, and the Vampire Court's newest investigator, Alice Worth, looks very tasty indeed.
After an epidemic of attacks by newly risen vampires terrorizes the city, authorities pressure Charles Vaughan and the Vampire Court to determine who is responsible, Complicating matters, a local businessman hires infamous bounty hunter Jack Justice to find and execute the rogues after his sister is attacked, Justice and his entourage turn the city and the investigation into a threering circus of media attention, vamphunter groupies, and selfappointed “deputy” vamp hunters,
When mage symbology is found on a captured rogue vamp, Charles enlists veteran mage private investigator Mark Dunlap to figure out what involvement mages have in the attacks.
Dunlap brings in his newly hired MPIintraining Alice Worth to help unravel the mystery,
In two hundred years, Charles has never met anyone quite like Alice, Minutes after meeting him for the first time, she threatens to burn down Vampire Court headquarters, By the end of the night, Charles is sure of two things: Alice is not who or what she seems, and someday she will be his, . . if she doesn't get herself killed first, Read as a part of sitelinkAlice Worth Box Set I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and I loved it!!!!!
If you like reading about vampires this book is for you.
If you like good detective stories this book is for you,
It was a good novella, with interesting plot twists, The part of the story is told by Charles, so we can understand him better as a vampire and as a man,
The two previous books in the Heart of Malice series were quite fun to read, but I was afraid the love triangle would be cliché.
Now I think it may actually turn out well, Why
You have to read
it to find out,
I will only say, . . Action!!! Interesting characters!!!
Just one more thing, . .
After the cliffhanger at the end I can't wait until next book comes out, good novella
I enjoyed this quick short describing how Alice and Charles first met, Alice is totally a bad ass and Charles is intrigued, Alice is asked to help find a traitor vampire that is creating out of control rogues that are causing havoc throughout the city, Turns out theres a mage helping the traitor and Alice needs to find them both before vigilantes start attacking all vampires, Nice introduction to this world
I haven't read an Alice Worth story for a while, so it was refreshing to come back and see it again.
For those looking cor a new world to, explore, this is a great introduction to some of the main players, For those who have enjoyed Alice's journey so far, this little side story is a fun little story showing how some of them met, It is well played out in characters and story, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I'm often skeptical about reading added points of view, especially this early on in a series I love, This broke the mold a bit a complete storyline that filled in a lot of blanks even ones you didn't know needed filling, more parallel stories, layers, and character development.
Essential reading for the Alice Worth fan, Loved loved loved getting an inside look into Charles Vaughan!! He piqued my interest from book one and he did not disappoint, Theres more to this sexy powerful vampire, This story was a wild ride from beginning to end, Danger, rogue vamps, and even more danger YES PLEASE!! Did I also mention some kick butt magic It was also awesome to see Alice from a different point of view.
The story was fantastic! Well written and kept me on my toes, There are some twists and some definite surprises, yeah. I cant wait to read more!! This is fast becoming one of my favorite series! I give thisstars, “Blood Money “ is simply incredible! This story is a novella that takes place after the first book in The Alice Worth series,”Heart of Malice, ” You would think that the story would be told from the standpoint of Alices POV however, this is Charles story when he first meets Alice,
First and foremost, in my humble opinion most novellas dont really provide you with a lot of additional information about the characters, However, this little gem was like a whole novel in itself, We learn of the situation with rogue vampires that ultimately leads to Charles and Alicea initial meeting, We also get a glimpse at what is driving Charles attraction to Alice,
When I read the first book in this series I wondered why Charles wanted to get with Alice so badly, After reading this little gem I gained great insight into Charles mindset and let me say that while I think he is a good guy, he is definitely not the man for Alice.
This novella is far more than some minor book, It is incredibly detailed, full of action as well as insight, Im so glad that I opted to read it rather than going on to book two first, It provides some surprising insight as to what we can expect next for Alice and let me tell you it aint pretty!
I now feel like I am well equipped to read book.
If you are like me and new to this series, I highly recommend that you read “Blood Money “ before reading the second book in this series, Lisa Edmonds rocks and she may just well be my new favorite author!,
